I am once again asking for your advice because I went into the store to look at skincare and just got overwhelmed by it.
I am middle aged. Very very pale skin, Irish complexion , slightly freckly, no real wrinkles yet (hurrah!) but some sagging, and signs of age (just a loss of that nice plump look young skin has.) skin is neither dry nor very greasy, no acne. Moderately sensitive, nothing terrible. What I’m noticing is just a kind of ‘hollowing out’ I suppose - menopause saw me lose weight and muscle and I feel kinda gaunt and thinned out. Like you can see the darker substructure below the skin? The skin isn’t darker but it’s kind of see through (I’m making myself sound like Mum-Raa here and it’s not that dramatic at all…) I’m trying to lift weights again and eat more protein and collagen and vit c to sort stuff from the inside but I’m up for some Products.
I currently just use eucerin cleanser which I like, and a cerave moisturiser (recommended from here, thanks!) which I like too, but is there anything I can use for just brightening up and thickening / plumping the skin up a bit? I’m thinking maybe retinol or hyaluronic acid, but I have no idea where to start and know that whacking full strength retinol on is probably a bad call.
Local store sells The Ordinary, which from my label reading seems to have an Ok ingredient list, Lumene, Dr. jart (expensive as) and a few others. Korres as well.
Advice if you’d be so kind! UK or European availability required, preferably not insane expensive
