I’m looking to get one of those UV sunscreen cameras/phone attachments. Any advice? The internet sucks and I trust youse a lot more
They are a gimmicky way to squeeze money out of you. The only thing a UV camera will do, is to show you if you missed a spot. But if you're not under applying SPF like most normies do. As you’re into this hobby, I assume you’re extra careful about applying enough SPF and therefore have no need for a UV camera. Being paranoid about it do more harm than good. Stress makes you look old faster than missing a spot a day or two.

On another topic...
Technically a good topic to talk about, but it's hard to take the eyes from his baboon ass-lips. Maybe he should take his advice about filler fatigue himself? Because he really looks gross, and maybe calm down on the skin smoothening filter. You're an old man with a full on grey beard, not a 20 year old instathot

Anyone buy anything for The Ordinary Slowvember sale?
Has anyone tried the new green Canmake Mermaid UV Gel? I'm using it rn and like it. It's one of those "tone up" sunscreens though so you'll be taking green stuff off on your makeup pad at the end of the day. Someone told me I look pale, which means it's working for canceling out redness.

Is cleaning your face daily with moisturizer good against very slight acne? I know it definitely works for dry skin

Cerave hydrating cleanser is like rubbing moisturiser on your skin. Rubbing on actual moisturiser seems expensive as you can get a 1l bottle of the cleanser for cheaper than most moisturisers.

Dunno how much it helps against acne though, but Cerave got a cleanser with salicylic acid too. More of a foaming gel, but not really drying either.

I have the cream and a Neutrogena anti-acne moisturizer.
Thanks

I posted elsewhere about taking a collagen supplement for my hair, nails and skin, and I'm copying part of what I said to here because it's somewhat relevant.

I got Youtheory brand collagen with vitamin C, 290 tablets, 6,000 mg each. Serving size is 6 tablets daily but I've only been taking 2-3 of them as the mood strikes me.
It's been about 2 weeks now and my hair and nails are definitely stronger, though I'm not sure if there's any growth acceleration. My skin feels healthier too, kind of like if I've used a good quality moisturizer, even though I haven't.

I haven't noticed any of the wrinkles I had before going away or anything, but my skin feels less dry and thin, especially around my eyes. That's gotta be a good thing, right?

Hardly, collagen treatments usually take 1 to 3 months before you can see any concrete results. It's likely you're feeling different due to placebo effect.

However if you're also following a healthy diet and proper skin care that could also factor in how you're noticing changes.

Btw I looked up your product, their website states the dosage would be 6 pills per day but that's a dose taking into account only the vitamin C concentration and not the collagen one. Basically the formula of these pills states there are 90mg of Vitamin C per every 6 grams of Hydrolized collagen. The daily dose for Vit C can range from 500mg a day to 1g a day. While collagen is usually dosed at 10 grams a day.

You should fix your intake at 2 pills a day since you're likely eating enough protein in your diet. Don't want to overload your liver and kidneys with aminoacids and byproducts; as a helpful farmer already stated before in the thread all collagen supplements are broken down into aminoacids as they are processed to make new proteins.

I just know what I experienced after starting to take collagen. Two weeks in and I noticed a difference.
I'm still not going to take 6 pills a day. That just seems wrong.
You've just convinced me to message my doctor and ask if collagen supplements are safe for me. (I have various organ and electrolyte issues, so I just want to clear it first.) I hope they are, would love to have some of the effects from it you're having!

So, I posted here a few months ago about my routine and how my extremely sensitive skin was breaking out like never before after starting Differin and azelaic acid.

I finally became desperate enough to stop everything. It's winter where I am and the cold and wind were making my face really hurt. Now, I wash with a mild cleanser (either the Vanicream cleanser or La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser) at night, then moisturize with a night cream + Aquaphor. In the morning, I just rinse with warm water and put on sunscreen.

My face looks loads better. I want to be a person who can use nice skincare, but my skin just hates it all. Bummer.

Same here. My face likes warm water+washcloth in the morning. I use gentle cleanser/plain water alternating days. Always cloth exfoliation. Keep washcloths clean. Elta MD is a tad higher priced moisturizer but not bad. 2 ingredients and works great. Alternate that with straight vaseline after a shower. Use sunscreen when I think about it. Ive tried so much over the years. My skin is not perfect but it is reliably pretty clear if I am dilligent. Tried not washing face in the am and it just breaks out. Wet cloth over face = no breakout. Idk man.

My skin gets insanely dry in winter, a couple of times a week I do an oil cleanse.
Dampen face, apply oil, leave for 10-20 minutes, wipe off with clean washer and warm water.
I just use whatever face oil I have, nothing fancy or expensive, but there's a few I like.
We're coming into summer, so doing it once or twice a week now, will probably just be whenever needed once summer gets here (it's still unseasonably cold).
Then I just follow up with regular moisturiser, or a heavier one at night.
I don't have sensitive skin, just winter dry, so YMMV, but agree that wash cloths and warm water deserve more credit.

ETA- I feel the whole “nice skincare” thing, but then, really, nice skincare is really just what works best for you. It's nice to feel a bit fancy and spoilt sometimes though

I'd like to report back some changes, like I mentioned prior I had some pretty bad Rosacea a few months ago. It's basically all gone, what I attribute this to is topical and oral ivermectin. Azelaic acid helped with lowering the redness but it didn't get rid of it, same with my cerave cleanser. I was still waking up with new small white heads everyday as well. Using the topical ivermectin and a small one time dose of oral ivermectin has removed my redness all together and the pustules I had, along with waking up with. small white heads, all gone.

It's probably a combination I don't fully understand, but from what I read.

Topical Ivermectin works by killing of dermodex mites. These mites occur naturally on your skin and is harmless, but it is when the dermodex is the majority of the ratio of micro organisms on your skin. When the problems occurs, as it leads to increased inflammatory responses. What redness essentially is.
Ivermectin is a parasite killer, so the oral course may killed off something in your body, As only treating the problems on the skin won't do anything with the problem itself.

Azelaic acid is nearly as effective as benzoyl peroxide, or even better. As it's nowhere near as irritating, it helps with redness and it do work on nodules. Even Accutane does not work on nodules that already exist

Dr. Dray has began to absolutely disgust me. She constantly contradicts herself, shills, and cherry picks. She tried to associate fish with being a cancer causing agent a few months ago and demonizes dairy/meat. It baffles me that a dermatologist refuses to see the benefits of a good diet consisting of healthy animal products. She is starting ghastly wither away at only 37 and her hair is awful. Recent antics include launching a tirade against tea tree oil, antibacterial soap, men's aftershave, vitamin c, lip exfoliation, skin cycling, and shit tier advice on showering. This snarky anachan bitch is getting a lot of negative feedback on TikTok and rightfully so.
