Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

ot but looking through this thread I recognize hardly any of these characters (and not only because they're drawn like shit). What the fuck happened to Loki, multiple Sherlocks Holmeses, and Mads Mikkelsen? Am I just really fucking old now and tumblr kids latch on to random-ass indie videogame characters or whatever? I get that tumblr fixations were always a bit random but they were always attractive, if in an unusual way. These new guys are originally ugly (exception of anime characters) and/or made to be ugly. WHAT. HAPPENED. TO. THE. HOT. MEN?
Commercialization of fandom. I remember those days, too. Tom Hiddleston just aged and no one talks about him anymore, and Sherlock's fandom hangs on by sheer size. Those fans moved on to Our Flag Means Death, and before that, Good Omens. You can actually predict when they will abandon a fandom for another.

If you want sexy men, it's usually the Bara artists who do them now, and you can expect the exaggerations.

I am so interested in why they are made so uncomfortable by beauty. They see a beautiful character and have the urge to relate to it but they just can't as long as it's beautiful, it has to be grotesque and hideous or they aren't comfortable. It's so strange. They really are like this weird cult of disgust where they revel in being repulsive?

Sorry for the reposting but a mod caught my ass and merged two of my posts together because I didn't use a thumbnail. So for your viewing displeasure, a fully colored version.

it's something built in inherently with leftism and jewish people. they absolutely hate beauty and want to see it destroyed.

I'm starting to wonder if this new generation of tumblr fandoms is a symptom or part of the cause of....(gestures broadly). Maybe it's just me being nostalgic for ~2010-2013 tumblr. Maybe I'm way off base since I stopped using it years ago. Yeah, old tumblr was full of thirsty nerdy bitches but it was healthy enough (for the most part, there's always people who were too much). I can't say it was the porn ban because that doesn't stop normal fan art of attractive characters or photos of celebrities. But with such an uptick in intentionally ugly and gross as fuck fan art and really bizarre fixations even by tumblr standards (like that pizza guy? idk who tf that is)? Maybe I could kinda understand tumblr girls giving themselves weird genders and sexualities because they don't find this shit attractive. I'm having a really hard time articulating myself here. I hope someone gets what I'm trying to say.

side note: I did check out tumblr tags semi-recently for the band Ghost. Tobias Forge is hot in a tumblr sexyman way, so of course that demographic likes him. But holy shit, the sexually explicit things people were typing out about him were insane. Like I get it, old tumblr was horny as fuck but you would never say such things about a real person, or at least only hinted at it in the tags. If you did, the more sane fans would call you out on it. Something weird is going on with the dichotomy of fixations on intentionally ugly things and losing all decorum when presented with an actually attractive person.

Sounds like the plot of a Greek tragicomedy of sorts.

I don't know why Genshin impact fags complain so much about a game that was made by a CHINESE COMPANY does not have more dark skinned characters. They hate african booty scratchers over there. The edits look retarded and a lot of them lack value and highlights to make the dark skin actually look like dark skin. They just slap a dark brown and you can barley tell what the fuck is going on. It's surprising they even have two dark-skinned characters in the game.

Kind of reminds me of the Uglies from the Judge Dredd comics. People who voluntarily mutilate themselves do to a fashion trend.

Scary how this basically became reality.

i think the daisy and luigi one would look nicer if it was edited a bit

The blue and pink flag? Well, only 41% of the time.

It's awkward teenage girls who are either uncomfortable by the fact that they're not classically beautiful themselves and revel in ugliness as a cope, or they're uncomfortable at how grown men sexualise them when they're still too young to want sex, so they don't want to be beautiful. You saw it with goth and punk kids and a lot of youth subcultures back in the day, deliberately making themselves look "scary" or rejecting beauty norms to repel the normies and attract their own in-crowd.
I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were just bad haircuts, clothes and makeup, you can get rid of those when you grow up and laugh at the old photos of your cringy teenage phases, but mastectomies and exogenous hormone damage aren't reversible.

This could make for cute artwork but why the stretchmarks?
Because selective realism. They want all the simple and cute but otherhand making "real women" is popular and real women have imperfections. So you pick few that you like the best and make them stand out. Strech marks are nice because you can add them at the end almost anywhere and they used to be so rarely potrayed that it signs as a member of the good guys better than many others. Also they aren't traditionally considered to be funny like a big nose or bad hair do.

Dudes get stretch marks too but I don't think I've ever seen any art depicting that.

About that comic, she needs a reality check. To most people the writer is just a meaningless stranger, like most of the humanity. We have no ill will towards you, we just aren't willing to sacrifice our wellbeing for yours. Sucks that they are sick but public life is for others too. Even assuming that pandic actions like masks are super helpful towards the weak, they aren't free of downsides in any way. Depression from isolation, trash, price of inconvenience, breathing problems in masks, lowering social skills, less opportunities to exercise or otherwise challenge yourself, many people not doing their best job from home office... When we take all that into account and yes, the best practice is to isolate the weak rather every one else.
