I've never seen ugly faces destroy an otherwise ok pictures so much. They all look like they have cases of severe brain damage and are happy about that they just shat themselves.

I always thought it was a wild swing of the pendulum from drawing anime where the noses are less noticeable. We're talking about people who can only see and do things in extremes.

There's so much wrong here, between the questionable anatomy, "Melt-off-the-skull" faces and gaudy-ass color schemes. Seriously, it looks like half of the pictures were colored with either mud or Play-Doh. And for whatever reason, it looks like the artist forgot what hands looked like in that last picture becuase it looks like she has six fingers. About the only half-decent thing in this batch is Ino, and even she has some big-ass eyes and unfitting lips (plus an unnecessary tan, but that's beyond the point).

And is it just me? Or does anyone else think that moon in the third pic looks like a pedophile?

They hate beauty. they hate the concept of beauty and believe life, nature and all it's gifts are ugly and showing it's beauty is just romanticized lies of the patriarchy or something.

They're trying to make the unappealing appealing, and that's why this art feels so wrong. Unappealing features can be easy to look at if you know they're unappealing. Look at the art of Basil Wolverton, for example:

Ugly? Sure. But does it feel wrong like some of the art posted in this thread? No, because Wolverton knew that he was trying to draw something ugly and didn't try to make it appealing. These people believe they can get you to like ugly features, and that's why they fail at art.

I don't blame modern art because most SJWs have probably never taken an art class in their life, much less one that teaches you about modern art.

You're implying that they've even learned about art outside a cheap "How to draw manga" book. That isn't a good sign.

In all seriousness though, @Steamboat_Bill's got a very good point. They guys have a very warped perception of what's attractive and what's ugly (that is, our normal conceptions of both, just flipped turned upside down, then repeated ad nauseum until it's dead). And they try to think that what we find ugly is what they think is acceptable. And they're wrong (there's a reason why people mock the fat).

I'm all welcome for diversity, and I get the gist of what they're doing, but there's no need to:
a) fuck up preexisting properties to promote your agenda.
b) make all females look like borderline tranies and all men wimps.
c) forgo all concepts of anatomy and construction to draw their disgusting-looking images.
d) make everyone tan, fat, or both, because that's not really diverse now, is it?

All and all, if any of them ever did go to an art school, then they either didn't pay attention or thought they were above criticism. And if people are praising your art for being "diverse" when in reality it's a creepy looking fucker with a melting face, broken proportions and an overall unpleasing "style" , then you dun goofed.

Wolverton has an appealing style because he was an excellent draftman and could pull off funny, ugly caricatures. Look at all the different textures and masterful shading in the picture you posted.
