Somehow the chicken-eating, razor-toting, banjo-picking, "Mammy"-singing stereotypes of minstrel shows seem less offensive in comparison.

I think it's because they're still trying to adhere to the actual shapes of the character's bodies. The only problem is that since they aren't actually human, they come out looking fucking bizzare and them deciding to make them look black just makes it look like a shitty racist drawing you'd see in the klansman newsletter. Again, it's just their stunted worldview and obliviousness making them look like racist assholes.
 
Their drawings look like racist caricatures, cause they're shit artists, not cause they're racists. Hanlon's razor is in full effect here (not unlike, say, Watto, who was thought to be an antisemitic, anti-Arab, anti-Italian or some kinda other racist caricature, but it was just weird character design).

He was the very stereotype of a Space Jew. This was also the same movie with Jar-Jar who was an unambiguous parody of a Caribbean islander, so it's hard to blame anyone for thinking Watto was more of the same.

The making everyone black thing is itself racist, and that they're invariably ugly as shit just looks even worse.

Most people who do unfortunate blackface type shit are also not intentionally being racist, but that doesn't stop SJWs from screaming about damn near everything, so I'm not about to cut them any slack when they do racist shit themselves constantly.

Side note, I noticed something interesting on this tag: there were a lot-- and I mean a lot of bright-haired, over-filtered selfies in this tag, and every single one of them was a white older teenager/young adult, most of which were using infantilizing words such as "kid," "boy," and "smol" to describe themselves in the caption. Could it be that they're all actually in white, upper-class families, but they don't want to acknowledge their privilege/boringness? So they create edgier and more powerful fantasies for themselves and claim them to be real for snowflake points they can't get with their race? And infantilize themselves to avoid being taken seriously and being held accountable for their actions like they should be?

Just a thought.

It's like the artist has some decent idea of how the human anatomy should look...and then completely mutilates it simply to make the characters fit in with whatever script he/she is playing along to at the moment..
