I do wonder if there’s a more psychological aspect to this phenomena. The heroes of fiction are supposed to inspire, not capacitate, but that’s not apparent to special snowflake culture. You use to see Wonder Woman’s virtues alongside her superpowers, her courage, frugality, perseverance, wisdom, etc. Being her was impossible, but it was something kinda noble to strive for, and hey, maybe you’d become a tad bit of a better person because of it. But a narcissist believes they’re already all those things, so what point does aspiration become? And because you’re a (insert trend of the week here) now Wonder Woman has to be too, because she’s just like you. It’s no longer about using art to explore the world: it’s about using it to stay in your comfy little fortress; no longer about being the hero: the hero has to be you. Fuck, they’re even doing this revisionism to real history. No wonder they go nowhere.

They really do miss the point of fictional heroes, don't they?

Being larger than life, in ability, in figure, in charisma, that's a standard trait of the hero/heroine throughout history, be it mass produced print comics, or literary works, or traditional oral story. To depict the hero as a dashing warrior or the heroine as a dazzling buxom beauty is not a bad thing intrinsically, they're supposed to be interesting, enthralling, we're supposed to care about them, making them super good-looking is just as valid a way to create appeal as making them super-powerful, or super-smart.

It's not some new 20th century patriarchal trend to have attractive characters, they've ALWAYS been more than the average societal Joe, for just those reasons, they're supposed to inspire you at best and just leave you in awe at worst, they're not supposed to validate your goddamn feelings and they're not useless if they won't.

There are other people on this planet, ya know?

An actual attempt at resemblance would mean they'd have to actually make the design adhere to the original. The race-bent Pyrope is more akin to an OC than a "humanization" that these people would put on the likes of MLP and Pokemon.

Too dark makes them uncomfortable because they're suburban white kids. Brown is that nice middle ground which allows them to feel self righteous without going too far out of their comfort zones.

Daria and Lisa: Given the SJW turn both girls took, this has lead Quinn, Bart and Maggie to be the favored children of their families. Daria and Lisa are now pretty much the relatives that are seen only when necessary.

Jazmine DuBois: Jazmine's new radicalized views have now created a burnt bridge of her own making when she berated at her father for being a race traitor (for marrying her white mother) that even Huey told her to cool it. Eventually, her kid's babydaddy (who she only used as a sperm bank) takes her to court for custody of the tyke. It was one of the few times the courts actually favored the father.

Dora the Explorer: After suffering her third heart attack while filming a feeder porno flick, Dora realized that she needed to do something about her health and go on a diet. After losing 70lbs, she has come to realize that having more energy and not taking up so much room on the bus is a lot more rewarding.

Maya and Mickie: Realizing that his belief in thinking he was a girl was due more to stress from losing his position as captain of the school soccer team, Mickie has come to regret listening to all those SJWs and transtrender activists. Hoping he can fix what all those hormone treatments have done to him, Mickie is planning to off his sister for the insurance money to do it.

Orange Blossom: Needing a replacement, the mixed-race Blackberry Bon-Bon is introduced. Her gentle personality and being a lovable dumbass wins the hearts of viewers, thus making the show more money than Orange Blossom can ever do with her dandy-boi career.

Diego: Finding out that college is much cheaper in Mexico, Diego goes back to his birth country. He now enjoys a career as an exotic animal veterinarian and buying cheap Mexican beer for grade schoolers.

Rallo: Rallo's activism for prison abolition was going fine until he found out that the weed dealer he was hiding was a serial killer who bludgeoned him to death with a complete edition of Audre Lorde's poetry to cover his tracks.

Susie Carmichael: After a year and a half of "friendship", Angelica realized that being a straight, white ally is for suckers when Susie threw a fit at Angelica for skipping a BLM rally to attend her father's funeral. As well as make Jackie realize that a relationship with Susie was a mistake and to swear off women for as long as she lived.
