Miller's misogyny is really only a facet of his general misanthropy. He has a cynical, dark worldview and tends toward outright fascism.

The Dark Knight Returns is still a masterpiece.

I've read that the real reason for that window is to make her more distinct and sort of an "opposite" of Supergirl, who has a pretty conservative outfit for a superhero (to the point that she even has a skirt in most depictions,) which means that the boob window is actually pretty fucking important to her character.

That still doesn't make those people happy. Lampshading it, having her be proud of it or feel sexy about it, or it being an aspect of her personality is no excuse for putting her in that outfit in their eyes.
