I remember when he dropped those rants about Gamestop and Staples. I was entertained by those back then, but watching them now physically hurts. It's not the idea of bitching about low wage jobs that makes it cringe to me now, but it's knowing who Rob is, knowing how big of a liar he is that it makes me question the legitimacy of his claims made in the video, and how he makes Gamestop out to be this absolute worst place to work at when it's another run of the mill retail joint.
When I was living with the love of my life Dylon and not paying any attention to Rob, I worked fast food jobs before switching to retail. Most of the time, I didn't have to work. Our dynamic was he was the provider, I was the homemaker, and I mainly worked jobs when Dylon said it was needed. Silent Rob doesn't know how bad a low wage job can get until he works at a fast food joint (Wendy's, McDonald's, Taco Bell, etc.) before Christmas or a dollar store.
Rob insists that I have never worked a job and that I lie about ever having one over the simple fact that I am on the autism spectrum. I was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified as a small child, and that's archaic medical fancy talk for "she's socially awkward and can't stand certain textures." Roberto Lowe sincerely believes EVERY autistic person is like Chris Chan, that I'm just lazy, and I collect disability. I never drew disability in my life, and my dad never wanted me to be limited by the feds. My mom however wants me to get it now given my health issues, and we always say the feds waste money on dumb shit anyway. When you are denied (which is common), you have to get a lawyer and go to court. Keep in mind, Rob rips on me for having Medicaid, and I didn't get on that until I was 25 (when I got kicked off of my parent's insurance - they do not have healthcare insurance now. They were paying $40k/year, and United Healthcare would not cover ANYTHING.)
Rob wants to rip on me for being autistic and "on welfare" when the only thing I get is healthcare. I have two rods in my back from spinal fusion, and I will need that hardware redone at some point. I had that surgery when I was 12 or 13. During those years I didn't pay attention to him and living with Dylon, I started to puke every day and the mild symptoms of my pre-cancer came. I didn't find out until July of this year that I even had pre-cancer, let alone that I narrowly avoided getting "aggressive colon cancer" as my doctor described it. I've puked every day for 6 years, lost a back tooth from the damage it did, and I have to be screened every few years for colon cancer.
I apologize for getting too personal here. Rob believes this fantasy that I never worked because "muh autism," and then I live with the reality that I am sick and without programs like Medicaid, I couldn't afford the help I need such as the Seroquel that keeps my Bipolar 1 in check, the colon surgeries to avoid cancer, and if I did have insurance, they could deny a colonoscopy because it wouldn't be "medically necessary" as they did to my little brother when he needed a medical procedure done (I forgot what it was, but it had to do with his psoriasis.)
He has lied about me forever, and I have worked jobs infinitely harder and worse than any job he has ever worked. How many dollar stores have you been to where shit is stacked to the ceiling and you can barely fuck move in the store? Fast food needs zero explanation, so the worst Rob would've had was a toxic work environment. I am NOT counting poor wages and long hours there, because Roberto is against raising the minimum wage, remember? It's gonna wreck the economy if we pay you more than $10/hour!
If Rob wants to know bad working conditions, send his ass to a sweatshop in Bangladesh. Until then, he can shut the fuck up.
Edit: Sorry for this being so tmi, but this is something that has bugged me about Rob A LOT, and these are the very real things. How tf does he expect anyone to make it like that?
