It should go without saying, but do not contact the lifters after you've reported them! They could go on a deletion spree and stop posting, and then we'd have nothing to laugh at. Just let them find out when the cops show up.

Keep fighting the good fight folks. I would join myself but I'm traveling and unable to really take part. Regardless, the best chimp outs are yet to come thanks to your efforts.

Cop Dog would be proud.

DO NOT CONTACT THE LIFTERS AT ALL.

It's better for police departments to have all of the evidence available to them. If these lifters go on a deletion spree, then they transform the cop's case from an easy slam dunk into a nightmare involving search warrants and investigative work.
If that happens, they're much less likely to take any real action on your complaint. Remember, shoplifting isn't a humongous crime, and the average PD is probably not going to spend a ton of time and effort investigating it unless they get a ton of complaints from local storeowners.

I'm going to second this, I made this mistake and unfortunately the blog in question deleted fucking everything. Everything's archived, but we'll get no actual payoff which defeats the entire point of this thing. Don't be a stupid faggot like me.

Oh boy kids, I had a hell of a ride reporting one. Here's the Tumblr. Their PD only took reports that requested full information, so I made a Twitter and tweeted a link to a pastebin to them. Pics in the spoiler

Is high-end makeup really that different from drug-store Maybelline? Or is it just some kind of status thing to be like "yeah I got that ulta lip gloss" or whatever?
I also think it's a power fantasy thing.

Many high end brands, for example, sell their cosmetics on the fact that they contain human foreskins.

That's some fountain of youth shit. "If I sever four or five infants' penises, grind it into a fine powder, and wear it as a mask, I will become young again!"

Yeah, I hate to be a wet blanket because this is awesome, but shoplifting is going to be a low priority for law enforcement and even the businesses involved. You're more likely to get followup form small towns with less overworked cops. OTOH, some of these assholes are stealing like $500 a hit; rack up enough of a total and maybe the police will get interested.

The two big things are the times of the incidents and the amounts. If you try to report an incident from last month, there could be no security footage to back up your claim. And like you said unless they're claiming to steal a couple hundred worth of stuff the police won't jump on it. Some of these "hauls" can be considered grand theft depending on where they're posted, so that is another factor too.

Not to detail, but can you provide some evidence for this? I'm sure there's some niche boutique brand out there claiming they use baby foreskin, but there is no way most makeup companies are even claiming it, let alone actually sourcing medical waste and getting enough to actually put in an entire line.

They don't really talk about it outside of their subculture. Only high end companies do it.

Thanks for proving my point. There's only one cosmetic company in those three stories, and they make probably useless skin cream at $150 a pop. The others are biotech firms of equally dubious value, but at least researching burn victim treatment is a more ethical goal. The companies use a lab-cultivated stem cell line originally sourced from a foreskin, which while creepy is totally different from "ULTA IS GRINDING UP BABY FORESKINS FOR THEIR EYELINER!"

All I get from clicking the link is "there's nothing there". The owner of that Tumblr must of deleted everything.

Even if the cops take no action, getting these assholes to think twice before posting on tumblr and stoppping this subculture where petty thieves validate each other is a very positive move for justice. Some impressionable kid is not going to see that tumblr and is not going to think that this is how the cool kids roll.

I've caught a felony from shoplifting $8 worth of merchandise. If the mark is easy, cops will take it. Lolcows milk themselves. The trick is to do as little as possible and watch things pan out. As long as noone tells them Farmers are after them, the cows will do just fine. The cops won't throw a battering ram at their door but the businesses will be on the look out. Remember, these aren't the brightest crayons in the box.

True, but with the fondness many of these retards have for high ticket items, it's entirely possible they're in felony territory just because of the retail price.

That means a nice fat fine and PDs often use relatively minor crimes like this as a revenue generator.
