I guess I just have a soft spot for Lush since one of their products has been the only thing that has helped my awful skin

One girl stole an eyeshadow pallette I've wanted for a while but can't afford quite yet. It's definitely a luxury item so saving for it isn't really a priority right now, and seeing a well-off white girl pocket it as a way to "fight capitalism" makes me want to lie down.

Since Lush supports Palestine, someone should tell those Lush-lifting tumblrinas that they now support Israel (which is haram to like half of tumblr).

Lush supports Palestine... Really?
Wow, better buy moar from them :tomgirl:

(Moved into the old thread ...)

Tumblr has a shoplifting culture. Now, as a libertard capitalist, this offends me. At the apex of privilege and 1st world problems, the snooty white girls of America have officially run out of shit to do and are now stealing the products of our society. Luckily, they're dumb, and many leave EXIF data and other clues (such as following their shoplifting accounts with their IRL name'd accounts) as to who they are.

I pose a challenge: For every person who manages to identify, turn in to police, and get a Tumblr Lifter to chimp out on a blog, I will award you a forum trophy and a mystery prize.

Sounds like a laugh.

Do we post our accomplishments here or in another thread?

Here's a mini-tutorial. I'm also going to show you why you're a dumbass if you post evidence of your crimes online.

I am withholding the blog I got the example image from so she won't DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING. This woman calls herself a "darling lil' criminal" and has allegedly stolen at least $5,661 since April 2015.

Using Tumblr, I copied the image URL into the first box on http://regex.info/exif.cgi and pressed "View Image At Url". What comes up is a fair chunk of information:

I know when you took the image, what camera model you took the image, aaaaaaaaaand

THE SERIAL NUMBER! So, if I were an investigator, I now have more than enough information to establish probable cause, subpoena Tumblr for the user's IP address, subpoena the ISP for the IP's registered user, and obtain a warrant to obtain the camera and shoplifted items. A prosecutor sees the serial number matches up with what you posted, and that's something that establishes your guilt whether or not you threw it all away in a panic. Getting the EXIF took me all of five minutes.

Some users on /pt/ even found people's names and GPS locations.

YOU ARE AN IDIOT IF YOU POST EVIDENCE OF SHOPLIFTING TO TUMBLR.

With Nick Bate behind bars, Sluthate (temporarily) down, Neopets drowning in dicks, and Jace freed from the BibleCube, the Kiwis look for a new wrong to right.

This should be interesting...

In addition to the above, if it's taken with a more recent Camera that's of the higher price range it will include GPS data, I'm also aware of one WiFi enabled camera that records the AP's same in the meta data if it's connected at the time, and you can easily find a war driving website listing the AP name so you can get prity close without trying to hard.

Mobile phone pictures are the BEST for GPS data though a awful lot of people turn on location services because it makes it easier to organise an share on facebook, this is done via GPS.
