What's striking me is AH.com is usually aware of how niche it is with regards to that "mainstream" comment, which shows to me this site's userbase is slowly losing it - okay, even by their standards - since Trump term 2 began, not helped by the new wave of bans of anyone not radical left extremist. IE, I spoke a long while back on being pleasantly shocked Ian was actually banning people for sexism against men, but this Kirk stuff proves to me he's finally gone (even more) fully mask-off in his biases.

The thing is, I KNOW there's users there to know better on how reality versus Chat is - are they that scared to speak up or is Occam's Razor finally in play and it's only true believers left? Give me the thinking and rainbow stickers, yes, I deserve them but.... truly, something feels finally different, like this is finally when Chat's gone off the deep end, forever ("but Mayor, it always did!" yeah, yeah, I know...).

Systematically hunted down until there aren't any left. I have to wonder when the straw is finally going to break the camel's back and AH.com ends up as an unused hovel.
 
Given that SpaceBattles just opened a AH forum and they have made the unusually wise decision to not allow it to have current politics on it, I would say soon.

A surprisingly unsung idea considering most AH stuff, either be ah.net or AltHistory on Fandom....though I do wonder if this is gonna be stress-tested to its absolute extreme.

Main issue for me (at the moment), is that there's no content in there, the thing that keeps ah.com alive is their momentum, since they have a pretty large archive of AH works. But still, the SpaceBattles AH site feels way better to use

If we take Spacebattles as a model how it will work: it will be lefty-trannies doing circle-jerking self-congratulation dance in comments, accusing others of fascism, doing witch hunts against wrong-think, and people speaking up against any of this will be reported and banned. Not always but often enough.

I don't know why anyone expects the one site sharing mods with other to be any different.

If enforced this rule may as well be ban, because in majority of cases LGBTQPEDOC+++ characters are used as authors gooning materials and/or shitty political commentary
 
I really like the idea of Atlantropa and the League of Nations becoming the basis for a friendly, smiley-face dystopia. I just rewatched Brazil again and that's exactly the vibe, except maybe with less brutalism and more art deco. The dictatorship is a bunch of men in suits, probably bowler hats and fedoras.

Imagine if, in the aftermath of a catastrophic Great War, Europe actually adhered together. Their church Latin is Esperanto (no way anybody outside of alt-Globohomo speaks it willingly), art deco fills the world. The ideology is non-ideological totalitarianism. There are no hammers and sickles, no swastikas (or if there is, it's a historical nod, again, to its smiley face origins). Atlantropa is an absolutely retarded premise but consistent with Globohomo's love of pie-in-the-sky, hubristic projects nobody asked for that will hurt the environment even worse. Progressivism and fascism sprang from the same cloth, both overlapped with socialism. This is a world where the bullshit, fake distinction between Mussolini and Wilson and Hitler and FDR is gone because there's no great power politics to hide it. There is just pure System, System of Systems.

I find it scarier, in a way, than Axis victories or Communist victories.
 
I just want to know why, since all other fanfiction revolves around gay buttfucking and shipping wars, history fanfiction (alternate history) doesn't also revolve around heads of state buttfucking.

The difference now? I'm genuinely interested in the way the nuclear triad and missile technology works. The distinction between cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Submarine hunting. MIRVs (did you know ICBMs have booster stages and even little jets like real spaceships that direct them?!?! literlally the only difference between a Saturn-V and a Minuteman is if it lands on the Moon or Moscow and if it blows up and kills a million people). The GIUK gap. Strategic bombers that fly halfway around the world. The fact that apparently literally anything can be a nuke (nukes launched from planes, nukes launched from submarines, nukes shot out of a cannon), nuke isn't the delivery method, it's the payload. I even have a new trio of waifus I made (not brought to life yet) that I call the Nuclear Triad.

So I suspect his dry-ass hundreds of pages of literal autistic wargaming AAR garbage would be more appealing now compared to when I consider a WW3 scenario incomplete if it didn't have the Soviets occupying small American towns.

AH dot com is currently having a pretty fun timeline about a world where Spiro Agnew doesn't resign and so Watergate becomes a much worse shitshow. The US goes through a real impeachment, then another one, and then president Tip O'Neil gets shot and almost gets replaced by Rockefeller using the 25th to keep him imfrok coming back before everyone's favorite war criminal jew Kissinger does a little trolling and let's O'Neil back.

Except people are getting annoyed that they Democrats don't seem to ever get any sort of real defeat and it is only the GOP getting L after L. And this is AH.Com saying it.

The 76 election better not be a DNC win cause then it will kill the timeline.
