Partly because you are blinded to think that things only happen on Twitter. I heard about the whole Vic mess before I ever got involved in the Twitter wars or even knew who Ron was.
Nick is yalls waifu so I thought I would oblige.
Wait, so are you implying that Ron et al. did even more slandering of Vic behind the scenes and that somehow makes it better? Or are you saying that Vic messed up by standing up for himself with legal representation, against people who
you openly admit in this very thread have exaggerated his actions to an insane degree:
To address your last line. Like I told Chambers and Squally, the level of outrage compared to what Vic has actually done is pretty unbalanced
I don’t get you; you say you want to help Vic, but you actively support the very people you admit have blown this thing out of proportion. Not only that, you’re supporting them during the
very process in which they’ll actually be held accountable for their damaging accusations.
Your official line in all this is that Vic didn’t do anything bad enough to warrant public outrage, but enough to lose his job and con engagements, but you can’t fucking see that the disproportionate outrage is
the exact thing that made him lose it all in the first place. So it’s okay that they lied and destroyed his career because as least his career needed destroying? You need to abandon the fantasy that whatever “confession” deal they attempted to strongarm him into wouldn’t have made things better, but that would require admitting that Nick was right about the legal route being more effective. And it’s hard to say it hasn’t; Vic’s back at cons, and has the extra perk of being able to broadcast the truth to the world that, as even you admit,
he’s not a fucking predator. Hell, he’s still under more scrutiny than ever, so even if he was a bad actor in the past, there’s no way he’s not going to be better about it now.
I honestly think your only goal in this is to try to salvage whatever credibility you thought you had before Nick’s stream. You’re just trying to convince people you know things, and changing your story to whatever you think is going to ingratiate yourself to your audience at the time. You’re position is not so much #kickvic or #istandwithvic but more #istandwithshane. Your misguided engagement in all this is just flailing because you can’t handle the fact that your warped worldview, including your illusions of your own intelligence and importance, were blasted to splinters in front of tens of thousands of people.
You’ve already demonstrated that you’re incapable of following even a short train of thought well enough to give a straight answer, so I’m not expecting you to respond. This is more for my benefit. If you take one thing away from this, just realize that you’ve contradicted your own goals in all this and done nothing but make it worse. Which is hilarious enough to watch, but it seems like something that might bother you if you weren’t too dense to see it.
