Just finished a quilt for my youngest sister's wedding gift. She recently got into collecting heirloom quilts from family members, so it felt like the perfect gift. I hope she gets into quilting too, or at least the history and cultural significance of it, so I finally have someone to sperg with about it lol.
Its a surprise, so I worked with her mom to pick the pattern and colors. She likes traditional vibes, so I wanted to create something cozy and patchworky. I used the Same Sky pattern by Modernly Morgan. I made the bed size. It's a very easy and comprehensive pattern, in my opinion. I was stoked to find the perfect vintage bed sheet while thrifting for the backing. I used scraps from the top pattern to make the binding. All four corners on the back have a piece of the lacey top decoration from the bedsheet; one of the corners has my name and date on it, and another has a congratulatory message with my sister and her husband-to-be's names and their wedding date. Won't show names for reasons
