Yeah but IT IS mental illness. These people won't last in real relationships. Like you WANT your sexuality to be real, but you can't go around crying that Astarion is with other girls. I'm guessing this redditor must have lurked here because most of these arguments come from here too.
 
Pardon my 'tism and excuse my long post, but there's something I'd like to share (heh): Yesterday, I found a new subreddit called r/FictoHideout (Archive), and what differentiates it from the other ficto communities?

A community exclusively for non-sharing eh? That sure won't cause any petty dramas about people stealing each other's imaginary boyfriends,. I sure hope not! :)

I then proceeded to start reading some of the rules to see what insane policies they might have, and after reading them, I felt... confused.

So we have the multiple F/Os rule because every waifuist nowadays is a Muslim in disguise:

But what if you're one of those unfortunate people with 3 waifus and one of them is already claimed? Well...

So you can still be a member, but you can only have 2 fictos instead of 3 with you. You pretty much become a cuck to someone else.

They also mentioned something about "selective sharing", which made me feel even more confused

And after reading all the rules trying to understand all of the insanity within, I came to a realization... is yumeshipping just a extreme gay way to gatekeep characters you like and not interact with people you don't like?

I have been reading about waifuism since the early 2014, even before /r/waifuism existed: when people posted their anime shrines on /a/ and other similar imageboards. I remember seeing old reddit cows like JediRalts pissing on his catgirl lolis, Niqua's long incoherent ramblings about race war because of her F/O's source, Marzi's grossout youtube videos. The Squidward Lady who BUILT A CUSTOM SQUIDWARD SEX DOLL AND MARRIED IT!

It was easy to laugh at these people because it was simple to understand their insanity: "hot anime girl is my gf :DDDDDD"

But nowadays? What's the appeal of fictional characters to these people? Some of them hate seeing other people writing sexual comments towards their F/O, but they're happy to have 6 or 7 characters to gush about. Some of them are selective sharing because apparently seeing a person you dislike talk about something you like is worse than Hitler, but anyone else? very fine, go ahead. They all feel oppressed that no one takes their relationship seriously but yet, they are quick to act like children in their gay slapfights.

Yumeshipping pretty much just feels like a parody of waifuism, which already felt like a parody of having a normal relationship.

And well, everything that I said just reminds me of one particular reddit comment from a 2016 r/waifuism mod.

Anyways, thanks for listening to my autistic TedTalk about waifu culture. I sound like I believe the old retard weebs were better than the current retard tumblrinas, but really, I just think it was easy to laugh when most of the community wasn't made of BPDemons who claim that they're the only people who understand this particular character and throw a fit when anyone says anything different about said character.
 
It is what it is, yumeshipping, fictosexuals and such are just really gay waifuism for everyone, because rules are so oppressive and evil right ?

Remember that at least in the ficto side of things many are ex-waifuists who like the whole "in love with a fictional character" experience and having a hug box community to "validate" them, but can't be bothered to remain or pretend to be monogamist because they're so queer and different, therefore you arrive to what essentially is "waifuism but with blackjack and hookers".

For yumeshipping that part was already sort of pre baked into it, same with selfshipping.

Cj also somewhat defends their ship hinting that they depicted heather as 18. But Heather looks similar to how she looked in the movie with no changes and even wanted DreamWorks to make the ship canon with Heather being 18. Not as bad as the last one but RJ would be in his 30's and she is 18 so it would still be kinda weird

Usually you kind of at least can predict and explain what character yume is going to obsess over. But cases like these? For my own sanity, I keep telling myself that this has to be a very dedicated "aren't I so quirky and funny" thing.

As one of the few people who had to handle having their asses harassed by her, I unfortunately have to confirm this fact.

I had the unfortunate destination of meeting her in 2024 all because she still had her TI stuff on her old Twitter acc(Odnoglizzy).

She only invited me to her pest of a friend's server because she thought I hated this former fandom member known as Tasha Grim. All because of a vent I did on my acc about how guilty I felt about everything even if I apologized to this individual.... Wich it seems Danny has an odd hateboner for, even if they were a minor at the time.

Ever since Danny posted about her tapeworm OC(wich I lied about liking them just to avoid suspicions), I started to wonder if she was, in fact, a proshipper... Or atleast anyone as mentally unstable as one, but I guess I was right after I left it since that server has a huge clique

And it seems she vague posted about me on Odnoglizzy by June 12.

Months later, she tried reaching out to me claiming I was misunderstanding things whilst she admitted having shit talked about me, I told her to "suck Livesey's dick" as a respond(wich I regret it), so the friend she had that also owned said server made a call out on me via Tumblr.

This year, thanks to some people, I found out about the fact she called me a fuckload of slurs, especially ones targeted at my latino(Brazilian) nationality, as well with ones due to the fact I was a trans guy... Even if just like my covert NPD,she shouldn't have even found out about it.

But oh well!

In general, I'm glad I'm not the only one here who's weirded out about it, and seemingly that you guys seem to know more about her makes me wonder even more how worse she could probably be... Or get.

I refuse to disclose who I am, iykyk... But all I can say is to keep going lol

If she supposedly admitted to have lied about being in her 20s while invading adult spaces especially on a huge TI server she got banned from because they found out about her garbage gore art? I think it's enough.

No way she gets to commission all of those people and even knows about stuff like TouHou and etc while being (according to herself) some bitch born in 2005. I definitely think it'll end up like Cristali/Valdrox tbh
 
I don't know if anybody here encountered that before - but there's a subset of these people on Discord - in their case they create a second account of a female OC they created, and then roleplay it being a separate person\girlfriend\etc. by switching between accounts, even faking interactions between their main and second account. I presume this falls under the thread's topic's category.
 
I get yumeshipping when it’s with a video game character or a dating sim where you can romance an npc, but for tv shows? Fluttershy and Nanami got nothing to do with you. Also putting a thousand pieces of merch of the character in their rooms screams mental illness.
