I think you're missing my point. The Dems keep promising shit to black people, but they aren't delivering, like they have been doing for decades. Trump and the GOP have a window to actually DO something instead of promising. Like Trump said, what do they have to lose? Unfortunately, the media has the "Trump is racist" narrative out there. It's an opportunity that they are squandering.

I think you're missing my point. The Dems keep promising shit to black people, but they aren't delivering, like they have been doing for decades. Trump and the GOP have a window to actually DO something instead of promising. Like Trump said, what do they have to lose? Unfortunately, the media has the "Trump is racist" narrative out there. I've been saying that conservatives are touting this "Blexit" thing way too much right now. Just because the Dems are starting to lose support from the black voters, that doesn't mean that those votes are going for the GOP ... Yet. The GOP absolutely has an open window to gain some of this demographic in future elections ... And I think that Trump opened that window. Amid all of the media slander, more and more people are educating themselves about Baltimore ... And it's all because of Trump. He started the dialogue, and he pointed a spotlight to it.

I hope the GOP doesn't pull a Mitt Romney by writing that demographic off and not even trying. Granted, at this point in time, the GOP technically doesn't "need" the black vote to win in 2020 ... But if they are able to steadily gain support over the next few election cycles, then why not go for it? It would hurt the Democrats even more, especially in state elections.

Not saying that this is going to 100% happen of course, but I do fully agree that the GOP has a chance right now for some long term results and they should take it.
