You need to be unemployed or retired to properly raise a dog. However, cats will give you toxoplasmosis that will lead to you developing a vore fetish.

I like a good kitty.
If I'd been raised with dogs, would I be a dog person? Maybe. I wasn't, though, so it's cats for me.

Dogs, because you can bring them places like hiking and on some beaches with you. They’re fun to play with outdoors and keep you company when you’re working outside. They also notice things we don’t and can alert you to danger.
They are needy though, I understand the appeal of cats.

Every cat I've met has been affectionate enough when it suited them, but they were also aloof, messy and often downright homicidal, with the means to commit such acts.
All dogs I've met have been friendly, cuddly and only sometimes homicidal.
