VIER IS FUCKING TAKANO
LAMBDADELTA IS FUCKING TAKANO, RYUKISHI
Lambdadelta is Lambdadelta.
I mean, she definitely had aspects that linked her to Takano, particularly towards the role of Higurashi's antagonist, but she doesn't really resemble Takano character-wise, unlike Bernkastel, who very obviously resembled Rika at her most cynical. And even early on she had traits that clearly took inspiration from Satoko, such as her very first line in the story starting with a hearty ohohohoho-type laugh and penchant towards boastful claims about her own ability. Bern's line about Lambda getting lonely easy, though it
could be applied to Takano, also fits Satoko much more readily than it does Takano, to the point where one of Rika's earliest lines in Onikakushi involve her talking about how Satoko was lonely because Keiichi was gone for two days, and while that scene was mostly a gag, the idea of Satoko being a rather lonely girl, in spite of her outer demeanour, comes up much more frequently and seriously starting from Tatarigoroshi.
Maybe Lambdadelta would've been more Takano-like if Ryukishi wasn't so incredibly enamoured by the "super paper" line that he made it into the core of Lambda's characterization, since the initial concept of her was intended to be a much more cruel girl, which would fit Takano and her love of cruel torture much better, but ultimately she feels more like her own character than one who is supposed to be the same as an existing Higurashi character.
Even the early statements about Bern being from Lambda's world feel like Ryukishi tried to quietly ignore them later on, when Featherine and her connection to Bern came into being and gave a much more concrete explanation of how Bernkastel became a witch, and that's not even talking about how despite being the main antagonist of Higurashi, she wasn't much of an actual player in the end, herself being manipulated by Nomura, and her pieces never actually being under her control.
Vier physical similarities to Takano are very blatant, with a very likely connection to (Tou)jirou to strengthen it, but her character's pretty different, too.
Takano isn't actually much of a scientist, despite all her efforts towards studying Hinamizawa Syndrome. Her only real goal is ensuring that Hifumi's research becomes recognized, but if she could accomplish that through genocide, it would be just as good for her as it would be by writing a research paper that convinces the world at large that his theories were all true.
Vier, on the other hand, is presented as someone who genuinely loves
science translation for its own sake, with an almost childlike innocence and purity, on top of being almost alien in how she interacts with other humans, with a severe lack of social grace.
Her being revealed as some kind of past incarnation of Satoko is still complete bullshit, but looks alone aren't enough to tie her to Takano, and Ryukishi has already blurred the lines between Takano and Satoko by making Meryl a Takano in name but with a design much closer to Satoko's, so this level of retardation is entirely possible for Dragon Knight 07.
Also I don't get if the genderspecial is intended or not considering one of the side characters criticize the main characters to being a high class faggot who doesn't get how 90% of the country lives.
I feel that the schizo shit and genderfaggotry is probably the only parts of the dystopia we're genuinely expected to view as wholly positive. He's quite blatant about how the nations are all fucked up in their own ways, but the whole situation between Meow and Jayden is clearly supposed to be viewed as wholesome and cute.
Though most of Ciconia's main cast is pretty boring and insufferable (not helped by the fact that the actually fun segments in the Data Fragments that actually do a lot to make the AOU crew much more charming, only unlock after finishing the main game, for some bizarre reason), the adult characters are actually engaging, and I genuinely want to see more of them, and none of them seem to be afflicted by all the faggotry that permeates the main cast.
The namedrops in Gou/Sotsu piss me off too, because now I genuinely want to know how Vier ended up getting involved with Eua, and what Eua's goals for her were, since she seems really disappointed that Vier lost her memories at some point in her long journey across fragments, even though I know that the answer will inevitably be disappointing, assuming that we'll ever even get a real answer to begin with.
