So help me out here guys.
The first couple episodes of Umineko are supposedly *littered* with Shkanon hints, but unless I'm supposed to be soypointing at every scene with both Kanon and Shannon in it I can only think of, like, three, and none of them really actually point towards it. (Not that they really can since Shkanon makes no goddamn sense but you know)
Ep 1, there's the scene where Gohda joins the group of servants and Kanon suddenly stops talking because ooga googa Gohda not in on it and can't see Kanon who's not really there... but the reason Kanon stops talking is because Genji stops him when he's about to say something, by patting his shoulder. The heck is that supposed to mean? Did Genji just pat the air? Does Gohda's not-detective's-ability forbid him from hearing magic but permit him to see it?
Ep 2, the scene where Shannon is being bullied by Gohda for being a shit maid and suddenly Kanon appears to tongue her asshole before disappearing. Okay, sure, Kanon probably wasn't actually there, but nothing else really lines up. The one who snaps her out of it is Genji, who's in on it enough to see/talk with/touch Kanon at other times. Genji continues talking like Kanon and Shannon are separate people immediately afterwards, including Kanon having handled serving "Beatrice" just fine while Shannon needs to be tardwrangled through it (even though that literally doesn't even happen, so even if Gohda is in earshot there's no need to talk about it like that, Shannon's just going to go into that room and sit on her ass and spin, or plan murders, or whatever the fuck, plus this whole thing is supposedly her plan anyway). It's really weird. Shannon's behavior here lines up with her "meeting" with Beatrice in the prologue, but there Kanon called her a retard for it. Is Kanon Shannon's imaginary enemy or her imaginary ass-patter? Or is it just whatever each scene calls for on a line-for-line basis so long as you can soypoint at it after the fact and call it evidence of the retarded-ass solution?
I forget what episode, but Kanon, Shannon and Genji running through the rain, it's noted Kanon is barely making a splash when he steps through puddles, ook ook he not there... except literally right there and then it's explained Genji is the same way, that the servants are trained to walk like this, and that only Shannon is incapable of it despite having ten years of experience. If Kanon being capable of doing his god damned job is proof he doesn't exist, what does Shannon being a decade-long unteachable retard prove?
Also, no specific scene comes to mind, but if Kanon sneaking around in the shadows us proof he don't real, that scene in ep 1 where Kanon and Shannon are musing about Natsuhi hating them and Kumasawa is lurking in the shadows musing about how sad it is clearly proves she's an imaginary friend of the Yasuborg too.
I hate the Shkanontrice.
Actually, speaking of that- despite what that scene states, and what some of the character bios state about Natsuhi's opinion of Kanon and Jessica's relationship, Natsuhi's never really shown being harsh on him, is she? If anything it's the opposite- in ep1 once people start dying, and in ep5's flashback to after Kinzo's death, she seems pretty willing to put a lot of trust in him. Wonder what's up with that.
