They went straight to Rika and Satoko idolshit right after you asked that.
 
I powered through both Umineko and Higurashi in that order earlier this year after years of TFR threads gave me an interest in the series. Umineko was a fantastic ride even if it did kinda fall off at the end like others here have said. My biggest disappointment with it was that I thought there would be something like Bernkastel's puzzle where you have to name the culprit(s) at the end of every episode. As for Shkanontrice, I think that was always the plan even if there are things that trip it up like Jessica never noticing how her crush and her best female friend were the same person. Kinzo being dead all along runs into the same problem where I have trouble believing that Jessica wouldn't find out it was a ruse during the entire year or so they pretended he was alive. Ange is another element I'm really mixed on even though I liked the idea of her as a character. I just think the framing device should have been her investigating the message bottles from the start or she shouldn't have been there at all since Alliance and to a lesser extent Dawn were clusterfucks because of her inclusion. The second half of Twilight did also drive me to go with the Trick ending out of spite before going back and selecting the Magical ending to see what it was like. I think I've at least come around to warming up on what Ryukishi was going for with it even if I still don't see it in the execution.

I also picked a bad time to read Higurashi since all the rumblings I kept hearing about Gou/Sotsu in conjunction with reading Umi first basically managed to gaslight me on what to expect while reading it. Once I was through with it I was able to look it as its own thing better but the outside information I'd been exposed to definitely had an impact while reading it. While I think Umineko is better overall, in part because it had much less otaku pandering stuff in it, Tatarigoroshi is easily my favorite arc out of both novels. It was a real shame getting caught up on all the Gou/Sotsu discourse since, wow , it really sounds like The Last Jedi tier alienating your own audience.
 
New Meguri chapter is up

I'll be honest, I enjoyed this chapter. Mostly because I enjoy any chapter where Keiichi and best girl (Mion) actually spend some time together or just have some nice slice of life moments together... Just without the actual slicing.

Nothing else to say, It was cute and I'm glad they showed a little more of her perspective.
I still hope they'll proper show how Satoko injected her (3rd time I said this but yeah), fingers crossed that not everything will suck and logic gets tossed completely out the window like in Rena's case (That I explained here! Seriously, Think RENA think!)

There's a mistake in the translation. "The rumored present from Kei-chan" should be "A present from the rumored Kei-chan." Also, I would have translated Shion's greeting as "He-lloooo!" since the original Japanese was "haroro-n".

This is R07 changing his story to make up for Passione's bullshit. But now, when did Satoko learn about the oni tattoo on Mion to look for it? I thought they were gonna pull a "Lol Satoko meant to go after Shion but stuck Mion instead and it made for something more interesting anyway" because why else were the two of them answering the door looking alike?

Also why the fuck is Satoko freaking out over how much the two of them look alike? They're identical twins, of course they look alike.

If she has the power to study the fragments, then it isn't so far fetched to think that she learned about it through watching the events of Meakashi (after all, at one point Shion goes into a mental breakdown when she accuses Mion of stealing her identity, and she does mention the oni tattoo thing there).
