So I just learned that Ryukishi wrote Lucia's route in Rewrite. I've seen the anime, but I honestly remember nothing about it outside of people who've played the game talking shit about the anime, so I don't even remember who Lucia is. Did anyone here play Rewrite? I'm curious as to what the quality was for the VN and its routes, if other routes were written by separate people, or if Ryukishi was just the special guest-writer.

This episode was in a way, so fucking fun yet so fucking retarded.
Who the hell thought that any of this was okay, in a mainline Higurashi anime, not in a spinoff or comedy OVA but an actual mainline.
How did we go from semi-plausible conspiracy's, mystery, murder with police investigations and paranoia to.... budget DBZ.
Literally magical girl costume changing bullshit, and of course they can fly, it's just so retarded that It loops back around to being fun.
Still when you think about how fans spent around a year from the GOU gun scene just to see what would happen next, this is NOT the outcome that I think anyone imagined.

So is this the episode where Satoko FINALLY fires the gun?
Somehow I am still left extremely let down and disappointed. The orbital camera was such a bad move in all complete honesty even though its purpose was to capture the entire scene in one-go.

God, why is Satoko's bathing suit strap just hanging off her shoulder?
So we're literally just going to do this where Rika wakes up and then gets killed immediately?
Also this fucking shambling stance of hers, what the fuck.
She says this as she's stabbing her best friend in the throat with a fork.
Something about this sequence really speaks for the series as a whole.

But wait a minute, it took Rika this long to put the pieces together to figure out why she died at St. Lucia? Like did she regain her entire memories of that moment when Satoko killed the both of them under the chandelier?
Were they literally punching each other into a new world? The hell are these match cuts? They're not cool here. This is the director half-assing again, isn't he?
Bitch, when you had studied to get into the school, you had actually put in the effort and got good-enough grades to get in. You can say Rika was the one who pulled you through. But it was your fault you pushed away Rika once you got to the academy even though she continuously offered you her hand and her help had you taken it.
Studying's not fun, but you can make the process of learning fun/more bearable depending on how you approach it. Rika could've helped you with that.
But she's not the villain here, guise.

Wait, I spoke too soon because Satoko swings the sword at Rika who achieved her magical girl status and sends her flying across the landfill (how'd they run out there so fast, anyway? Rika should've caught up to Satoko beforehand). I can't get a clip of it, so @Idiot Asshole, this is my request. Because seriously, the entire battle is retarded. It thinks it can get away with it because it's flashy, but it's not a clever battle in the slightest. The choreography is a mess, you can't really see much due to how fast everything goes, also the color-schemes are so bad the characters are blending in to their surroundings and magical voodoo auras.
Not even the witch battles in the Umineko anime were this hard to watch and take seriously.
Plot convenience.
Also they're just tossing the sword into the other fragments because why? How? I just don't know what to say here.
It's really not because we spent thirteen weeks being dicked around getting “answers” that were already answered back in Gou because the Internet sleuths are so much smarter than the lead detective himself. This battle is undeserved because by this point, the characters have been gutted into something they're not, and nobody here cares how it's going to end because we all know it's going to end one way or the other: Both Rika and Satoko die and get resurrected as Bernkastel and Lambdadelta, or Satoko doesn't die and is forgiven and redeemed by Rika despite the horrible shit she did.
We have one more week of this shit, but a lot of us have that feeling we're not going to be done with this. They're going to pull a third useless season on us, or we are going to get that new Umineko anime adaptation except no one will be looking forward to it since Passione, Kawaguchi, and Ryukishi all were extremely incompetent with these 39 episodes.
There's still that chance Tomato will save it in the manga since he's handled it better, but it's still the same script at the end of the day. And also at the end of the day, there's that absolute truth there'll be fans who'll deem this completely non-canon and refuse to further acknowledge it in the future.
It's just all so tiresome.

My thoughts exactly. It goes to show those characters got shoved to the background when they're still real important characters in their own right. It's just not Higurashi without Keiichi's unflinching resolve, Rena's staunch strength and faith in Oyashiro, and Mion's awesome leadership.
Yet there the three are just splashing around in the river not caring that Rika and Satoko are having their fight.
It's hilariously sickening just how far their characters have fallen.
