We already saw what happened with Glenda when her VA went nuclear. This is going to keep happening as more and more people leave the company and don't see a reason to continue being a VA or only did it because the company asked them to. I understand this chick only did shit for Season 5 in a minor role, but look at who Bernie and Joel Voice acted as. We are likely never to see their characters again due to them leaving the company.

Joel and Burnie voices two minor characters that may not come back at all. As for going internal, that was probably all RT could afford back when they started in 2013. And Vic Mignogna was probably the most high profile VA they’ve ever had, and he was a major supporting character? They also got Monica Rial for a character that was only in one scene and I can’t think of any other big name VAs, but those VAs are only in a handful of episodes at a time , like Chris Sabat as Watts.

Only way I can see them using the characters again are either:

a) hire new actors like they did with Qrow and Mercury.
b) reduce them to silent roles (harder with Joel's character, as he's not shown up since Vol. 3).
c) kill them off, which suffice to say, is how I see them dealing with Tai to "heighten drama" or some shit along those lines.

So if these characters are so tied to their voices, what would happen if one of the main 4 character's VCs left?

Well then they're truly fucked, much like how The Simpsons would be screwed if one of their main actors left or kicked it. But I don't see any of them leaving any time soon in this case.

Ruby's VA was an audio editor who's now been thrust into being a "talent" and Yang's VA is a higher up in the company.

Ironically, both Blake and Weiss split from the company within a few months of each other in 2015, wonder if they were looking for more cash as the show took off only to be shut down. Blake's VA is credited as a "assistant to the executive producers" on the "Lazer Team" movie - meaning she likely got them coffee. Could you imagine inviting a "real" VA (Nolan North, Yuri Lowenthal, Laura Bailey, etc) to a movie set, not using them as part of the production team and asking them to get coffee for other people? Baffling. It was the same year her and Weiss split, so maybe there's more to it?

Either way, a nobody actress, a receptionist, and a "my wife works here, she edits my podcast" wound up becoming 3/4 of the "main cast", which says a lot about RoosterTeeth's planning ability.

Don’t forget Jessica Nigiri being Cinder because Monty and her were friends. And according to Shane, Monty’s wife was supposed to be Winter and IIRC, he also said Qrow would be voiced by Monty himself. Everything I hear about RWBY’s early days screams that this show was supposed to be a much smaller scale show despite having things that screamed something bigger than “fight based web show about killing monsters”.

It's the normal DnD bullshittery of a special side where "everything black is a nigger" issue lies a lot. Remember the "Orcs are Black" one? This is the same thing in RWBY flavor.
