Some people on Discord talk about RWBY as an IP being sold should RT go belly up. I personally think that if a sale happens, it won’t be sold for peanuts. And some people...don’t like that idea. https://twitter.com/actorscentral/status/1265278464006868993?s=12
Rwby as an IP is barely worth a 1 million, and that is me being as generous as I can be.

It has seven seasons and that matters because, unless the show has major growth/becomes a cultural icon, most companies would avoid media IP's that are even three seasons old to buy the rights to as usually the cash cow is over by that point. Its audience is only shrinking and it would come from a company being cut up and sold for pennies on the dollar. Would it be a better show in other hands? almost certainly, but that is not really hard to do. Even a Chinese skinnerbox animation studio could probably do better.

They better just end the show next season just in case and leave anything else for like comics. What's left to draw out the show for more than one season left since Salem's already here?
Inb4 Salem wasnt the true villain, there was a bigger Salem in the background pulling more strings.

Do you think RWBY or RVB is the more valuable asset?

TBH I'm surprised MS hasn't knifed RVB since RT is owned by Warner now.

RWBY, easily. Part of the reason RT put faith in the show was because due to the RVB characters stemming from Halo, they couldn't do as much merch as they wanted to for RVB, and Microsoft presumably took a cut of all profits. With RWBY, every penny the show makes goes right into their own pockets.

I was surprised as hell to see RVB dvds at a discount store, figured that would get MS to nuke them.

RvB is a worthless asset to any other company other than RT (and maybe Microsoft/Microsoft subsidiaries). Its IP rights are in constant dispute due to Halo, and no mother fuckers want to piss off Microsoft over something so small, which means you can't make much merch without Microsoft looking for their cut and its fan base is pretty much dead at this point due to how long its been running.

It is an important part of internet history and many people look back fondly on it. But, its hard to turn a profit or even break even with the IP, you are forced to cave to whatever Microsoft wants done with it, and it has practically no fans left because it has gone on for something like 18 seasons (I don't actually know, i just remember its up there)? with like half of them being considered almost universally bad.

The only reason RT can do anything with the IP is because
a. They were and still kind of are way to small to make any actual impact on the market for Microsoft/343 to step in and...
b. They have a unofficial grandfather clause due to RT's relationship with old Bungie who gave them the thumbs up (back when bungie actually made good games and loved the community content their fanbase pumped out)

I would not be surprised if after Salem is defeated they pull the Brothers out to be the Bigger Bad.
Well, you have people saying Ozpin is “the real villain”, or at least talking about it.

Also, in regards to “bigger bads”, if the show wanted to have the gods be the thing you fight after going 100% / collecting the Chaos Emeralds, that’s just going to prove CRWBY never knew how to do a power chain. Or the writing was always something a first draft from a middle school English class for a creative writing assignment. I’d even say that volumes 1 and 2 had a way to develop an entire show, power chain and everything.

Isn't Tex literally just a HALO suit? *Been awhile since I saw RVB *
Her outside appearance is just a HALO suit, but she's basically an A.I. byproduct made from the Alpha A.I. based on the memories of the Director of the Freelancer Project of his dead wife, since the Alpha A.I. was based on himself.

She probably gets "redeemed" even though the only reason her life sucks was trying to scam the local gods. Also, didn't she go full family annihilator right before her relationship with Oz went to shit? As in she's to blame because she wanted to take over the planet or whatever, so Oz tried ditching her and she went "magic-powered homicidal Karen".

I meant to post this yesterday but I forgot. Anyway, anybody think that comaring A:TLA to RWBY is cheating because of the gap in quality? https://twitter.com/alle1304/status/1265636827861483527

The thing is, Zuko was a misguided guy who literally grew up in a family (Along with his nation) being aggressors that launched a hundred year war and his father had been a very abusive bastard who scarred his own son physically, and mentally before trying to desperately find the Avatar in hopes of being welcomed home;after being banished...Zuko never crossed a line like Azula or Ozai, other than betraying Iroh and even then Zuko felt like shit for doing such a thing not the only parental figure he had besides his mother.

Comparing him to Adam because both were disfigured and bad guys rings hollow, because Adam literally DIES when the SDC mark is revealed but there's not a single follow-up or any information about Adam's past unlike Zuko...Imagine if Zuko died back in Book 1, and we never find out more about his past.

That's what Adam is.

Anyway, I found some more details about this contest. I’m not sure if anyone had found the actual rules for this shit. EFABB9B0-F51B-41EF-AED5-57B073156832.jpeg

No, it'd be more apt to imagine if Zuko died in book 1 before seeds of possible redemption were even planted.

We would also have everyone calling Zuko an abusive incel rapist because all fire nation males are abusive psychotic incel rapists unless specifically noted otherwise (yes that includes Iroh).

... I'm so happy Last Airbender managed to come out and finish right before all this bullshit exploded everywhere like an overly aggressive cancer.
