Both of which will likely never happen because Miles and Kerry are stuck too far up their own asses, and smelling their own shit to admit there's anything wrong enough to warrant such a thought in the first place.

And frankly, I would rather them do something entirely original of their own that isn't trying too hard to replicate RWBY, because clearly DMC-level-rule-of-cool premise are way out of their league without Monty shouldering the animation team with his talent.

So I would rather them just kill RWBY rather than rebooting it.

If they honestly want a good animation RWBY, they should just ask for anime studios to help them out (Bones, Shaft, Ufotable, Madhouse, JC Staff), which is impossible.
They'll continue malking (now with vitamin R) RWBY as long as they can, for how long remains to be seen. As for any new IPs or a hypothetical reboot, Rooster Teeth won't produce anything of value until they come back to Earth, unfuck themselves and get their shit together.
And that one got cancelled since the ones behind it figured they might as well just make their own IP.
Same here. As I said much earlier, the true genius behind RWBY is to inspire other speds and autists to make their own work.

It's a shame. RWBY had the potential to be good and deserved better.

And now, here comes Hero Hei with his take to the masses. https://youtube.com/watch?v=RUezIbUGblM
HeroHei is MundaneMatt with trisomy 21 instead of being a fat cuck.

Someone really need to tell them straight to the face that they need to change and commit to better themselves on fuck ups that needed sorting out long time ago.

But sadly no one really got the heart to tell them that, or they're mostly just greeted by huge walls of denial instead.

To be fair, it makes sense they don't talk much because they did establish that the first thing Yang did once they were at Beacon was to ditch Ruby with her friends... that we never saw mentioned ever again. Nor did it made any sense Yang had befriended people at Beacon as if she had been there a year before Ruby if that was her first day at Beacon too.

Nevermind, that doesn't make sense either.

It's just an example of how RWBY when Monty was alive has plenty of elements at odds with later RWBY.

Yang early on at least called Summer a super mom. Nowadays she's more defined by being Raven's daughter than she is Ruby's biological sister or even Qrow's niece. Taken as she is now, Yang would flow much better if she was just Raven's bastard child (Taiyang only being Ruby's biological father) she dumped on Qrow who talked Taiyang into raising his niece since he didn't trust himself to raise a little girl.

Trying to fix RWBY's writing after seven seasons is like trying to save Hisashi Ouchi in his final days of suffering. To unfuck RWBY you'd have to either nuke the entire thing and start all over again, or finally put RWBY out of its misery and start a spiritual successor series.
To unfuck RWBY you'd need the ability to go back in time.

Someone on 4chan made a good argument on why RWBY is a huge sucess, specially in Japan. Thoughts?

I've actually been incredibly curious as to why it even has a Japanese version. Rooster Teeth is Western based and it's just wannabe anime, right? I was shocked to hear it actually was in Japan, with its own dub of it and everything. Can you even answer me that?

Is it more or less popular there? Is the writing better, like did they change stuff and all that?

It is my understanding that RWBY has an all-star cast in its Japanese dub which may have contributed to its popularity.

Voice actors can make or break a series in Japan. I mean, Pokemon has been pulling this trick for 20+ years. I'm sure it beats the absolute amateurs in English. I'm just wondering if they rewrote the broken script too. It might actually be a good show.

Not always when it comes to dubs, Transformers gets big names for the dubs of the American cartoons all the time and the final results are shit. Then again, what else should I expect from CLANG Man Iwanami?

As for RWBY's dub, I wouldn't know anything about that exactly, but I get the feeling Miles and Kerry might have some influence on it, plus the fact the Japanese still have to deal with all the convoluted visual decisions made in the show.

The Beast Wars Japanese dub immediately came to mind. And while it was detested by those who wanted to experience the story properly, it also was incredibly popular to its core demographic, and it's horrifying to watch because I both love the original version and 2. I know a lot of the Japanese actors and it's embarrassing to see them stoop so low.

Hard to say if the cast saved it or just that they aimed it way too young. Or the Japanese just like really really shitty humor.

From what I've heard, it got really big in Japan because Japan really loves a high school setting in anime, though from what what I've heard, the popularity took a nosedive in V4, and 3 or 4 (not sure which one) was the last one Japan got. At least they won't have to be exposed to V5?

Based on what I could gather, Transformers is aimed more towards the younger crowd over in Japan compared to most Mecha series. Which is odd given Beast Wars (and Machines, and later on, Animated and Prime) was aimed at the preteen crowd when they were originally made. The "humor" is just the style of Iwanami's dubs for the franchise.

To quote off of the Transformers Wiki regarding Beast Wars' bastardization
The ad libbing in Beast Wars primarily consisted of "noise"; talking for the sake of talking and reducing atmospheric silence or visual subtlety to a minimum. One particular trait of the dub was that each character had their own unique vocal tic with which they would punctuate their sentences or, more commonly, chant incessantly for no apparent reason. For instance, Waspinator would chant "bun", Scorponok would chant "orya", Blackarachnia would hiss "chā", Rhinox would ramble "dana" and so on. This gimmick was especially pronounced during fight scenes, when characters would repeatedly and comically shout their vocal tics every time they pulled the trigger of their weapons, reducing firefights to a cacophony of unending gibberish.

Many characters underwent considerable changes in personality and characterization. Some of these changes were gradual; Megatron began the series as a gravelly voiced and uncharismatic slob who would loudly hock loogies after fits of maniacal laughter. That trait was phased out in exchange for him becoming an effeminate, mood-swinging goofball; his tone of voice transitioning from a ferocious baritone to a silly high pitch at the drop of a hat. He was also made humorously cowardly, shouting out wimpy excuses while retreating (including the claim that he was late for piano practice).

And to think this was from the same guy who did the sound effects for Jojo and Sword Art Online. But that's getting off topic.

Didn't they also want to do a Hot Springs episode, but got shot down by RT? Or was that the Manga?

The dub cast was a prolific something, I tell you what.
This gives you a decent idea of some of the talent they had.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fanbase circle the wagons like the RWBY fanbase does. View attachment 1241881
I just don't think they have the mental capacity to understand anything beyond the surface level. For example, "Salem is boring" and on the surface RT "solved" the issue by giving her backstory and backstory = good in their small broken brains.

Look deeper and you realize that this shitty backstory is it...that is all Salem is and ever will be. Salem is now infinitely more boring because there is no mystery or deeper meaning to her actions. She is just a "Evil" spurned lover, nothing more nothing less. Instead of her being boring but salvageable, she is now just boring and nothing will change that. We don't even get the satisfaction of this being revealed in an interesting way. WE LITERALLY SAT THROUGH WHAT MIGHT AS WELL BEEN A POWER POINT PRESENTATION BY SOME STUPID GENIE!!!! It astounds me how someone could fuck this up so badly.

Because RT rushed a patch job onto a Major crack that need heavy duty welding the whole structure is compromised and collapsing in on itself. That is RWBY in a nutshell.

I kind of died a little inside seeing that cast list. A lot of people who did great characters went into such a mediocre show.

Well, going into that, the show had a cloud of "Ozpin is the real villain" that CRWBY needed to shake off. Well, by making Salem Madara, mission fucking accomplished.

I frickin' knew Shinichiro Miki was going to be on that list before I even looked. He's the literal staple of "We need names."
He's a great actor too, but he is essentially a brand.

Win for both Ryuko Matoi and Mako from KLK though. I almost want to watch it in Japanese just for them.

Yeah i heard about that too. apparently the japanese response to v4 was really ambivalent.
