Here’s a reply to a YouTube comment I made when I said that CRWBY learned nothing from Volume 5 (in that Ironwood and Winter show more emotion than Weiss, emphasis being placed on the wrong characters, and like Adam, whatever happens is meaningless since they already have Jacques his grand moment of defeat. Fucking Gold Medal for that comment.

09:25: "They had more time fore useless shipping over one of their (...) character getting a satisfying cathartic (...)"

The absolute state of RWBY in one sentence.

That's what happens when you appease the Shipping Jihadist Freaks, give them even the tiniest bit of a foot in the door and sadly you'll be stuck with appealing to these freaks who'll lose their collective shit over an imaginary pairing (Bonus points for a LGBT Pairing), if you "fuck it up" in a way they don't like very much.

Shit like the Sequel Trilogy in SW made the mistake of killing "UwU Boi!" Ben Solo, driving those freaks from their property and now RWBY is at their mercy because the writers just gave up like faggots~ Say what you want about Voltron Legendary Defender, but they stuck to their guns and didn't cave to the jihadists.

In spite of the threats and other shit, they went out with melted down tard rage with zero fucks given.

Even better the VAs for Pidge and Keith repeatedly called out those pissbabies for acting like spoiled brats.

Yang is just sitting. Lesbians also sit. Sitting =/= lesbians.

Also are they going to forget that Yang has canonically been shown to get into guys and checking them out?

Yang being into Blake is a complete joke, and her being a lesbian is even more of a joke since the bumblebee ship nonsense only started getting pushed really recently. They can't even call Yang bi and acknowledge what actually happened in the show. I'd give it more of a pass if they did that but these weirdos have their yuri goggles strapped on so tightly it's cutting the bloodflow to their brains. I'd love to believe that no one actually thinks like this, but I've been on the internet too long to doubt that people are just that stupid.

Well, my line of thinking has been that they’ll say Yang and/or Blake were in the closet/lying to themselves. As for Yang and those stills, my guess is they’ll say that Yang was just being a flirt, which is in her personality. That or they’ll say she was confused and unsure about what to do about being attracted to chicks, which is why she threw herself at guys.

Which is easily thrown back at them with "That's just a headcanon". They cannot back up their headcanons that Yang and Blake were in love and just lying to themselves for years, especially when Blake had so many romantic moments with Sun and the only time romance really came up for Yang was that scene in Volume 1 where she's really getting into checking out shirtless guys. She definitely doesn't seem that confused. You can't justify so many nonexistent plot points with headcanons and write an entire story into the show that simply doesn't exist.

If they don’t do the closet for Blake, they may just have it so Blake realized she was gay when she was with Sun all those times.

what I’m talking about:https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrit...-was-gay-while-dating-johnny-galecki-2013139/

Honestly you really can't win with these people. Even if you show them all the scenes with Sun and Blake, including when she blushed and got all tsundere with him in Volume 3, they'll just plug their ears and scream to silence you. I've dealt with shippers like this before and they're not people to listen to reason if it conflicts with proving their ship.

I don't know much about Voltron, so I'd have to ask if the writers ever fucked up on such a monumental level that the shippers were the only audience left who semi-hijacked the show, as is the case with RWBY. What part of the FNDM besides the shippers still gives an honest to God fuck and thinks that the show in its current state is unironically good? The better part of the FNDM are, as far as I can tell, too busy writing fanfics, doing fanart or have completely moved on.

I’m not sure. The people I talk to usually say they’re either staying to see the end or they’re like me and just enjoying the train wreck of a ride.

They will probably rewrite Yang to become full lesbian at this point for the Bees. Since outside of that quote, Yang never was interested with specific guys or even flirt with guys. Hell, go full feminist and have Yang always hating men and only using them for their advantage and make her quote feel more of "How much I can mess with men to my advantage".

For me personally it's curiosity for I want to see where this is going, but people like us are the absolute minority. Indulging in the shippers' collective autism is - from what I can see - Miles' and Kerry's attempt at salvaging their past consecutive fuckups by at least recognizing where their bread is buttered. Pandering to shippers is in general the writers pressing the panic button.

Oh it's definitely their panic button to try to salvage some fans from the mess they've made. But what writers like this don't understand is that by pandering to a specific ship fandom (which is different from simply having canon romances cause those are built naturally) they will inevitably alienate everyone else. They will be left with only a group of insane shippers who will eat them alive for not doing everything exactly as they want it. Look what happened when Disney tried to pander to Reylos in Rise of Skywalker. They tried pandering to a bunch of crazy shippers and still pissed them off cause they didn't give them exactly what they wanted.

What I find most frustrating about this, personally, is that writers like this -in this case Miles and crew- recognize that they screwed up and instead of taking the time and making the effort to fix things they go for the easy way out. Miles knows a huge amount of their audience haven't liked the last few Volumes and knows that they messed up, and when he has the chance to at least attempt to make things right and show he learned his lesson (which as much as I think Miles is a hack I'd at least respect if he did that) Miles just throws out any possible writing fixes and tries to pander. Any goodwill Miles had with anyone but the most psychotic supporters of RWBY is gone. They could have righted the ship years ago if they just put even the slightest bit of effort into making a good story, but they didn't. They're just going to rely on a dedicated sect of the fandom to keep things going as long as possible, and without actually fixing anything (the half assed things in Volume 6 like finally telling Ruby anything about the Silver Eyes and making one scene that barely remembers that Pyrrha was a freaking world wide celebrity don't fix things) the show will peter out until it's ultimately cancelled.

One thing about RWBY: they really can’t take time. My friends and I have said a lot that RWBY could benefit from having a longer production cycle to iron out details and fill plot holes in the writing...but they choose to have RWBY be the same time every single year because RT has no other reliable moneymakers, with Red vs Blue running on fumes and Gen Lock tanking hard and only surviving on HBO because Warner wants a return on their investment.

While I absolutely agree that taking longer than a year to make a Volume would be a big help in improving the show, what I meant by take the time is to just take the bit of extra time it would take to iron out the story. Miles and Kerry have been working together this whole time and if they just spent more than 5 minutes thinking about the story they'd be able to write better stories for the show. It's really not hard to sit down for a week and iron out a season's worth of story with two people. I could do that by myself in half the time. But they don't do that and Miles refuses to keep notes or even a basic timeline of the show. It's literally their job to write and they can't even do that right. No one is asking for extraordinary and revolutionary works of art, they just need to make something that's competent.

What makes matters worse in my opinion, is that even if they did take the time to put in effort into the story. It's become nothing more than a plodding, pandering clusterfuck that can only be saved if they either retconned 90% of the events that happened (keeping only the base storyline involving Beacon being invaded and maybe some events afterward) or just a flat out reboot. Because anything they could add to it, well thought out or not, would just make things as they currently are even worse.

The writers and showrunners for Voltron didn't really fuck up that bad, it was the Shipping Jihadists who made this series claim the title of Most Toxic Fandom in the Western Animation category;with Steven Universe being a very close second, and RWBY in third very firmly.

The Jihadists had their ultimate tard meltdown when they didn't get their "UwU Bois!" Pairing, and it mirrors a lot of what the Bumblebee tards are doing currently;Posting stupid hot takes reading too much into their headcanons, brow-beating people down who didn't conform to their LGBT fetish pairing, and harassing people who worked on the show while trying to make their demented fantasies come true.

Difference between the two? The Klance shippers were called out and got stuffed when their UwU Boi got with a female (Who is a Pee O' Cee), and they had a tard rage so bad that they made a AU out of pure, childish, and unadulterated spite where everyone became Burger King Kids Club levels of diverse.

Agreed. The show is past the point of no return without some major retcons or reboot. I think Volume 4 was probably the last time they had a real chance to fix things, though that would mean spending probably years trying to clean up the huge mess Volume 3 caused. But if they focused on fixing things they could have made it work with some good writing. But after so many bad seasons that have irreparably destroyed any semblance of continuity they screwed themselves over. And it's so frustrating that they were so incompetent and lazy for so many years that even when they had the chance to fix things they just kept bullrushing forward in the story without any thought. If you ask me they'd probably have to wipe the slate clean of everything past Volume 2 if they wanted to actually fix things. They'd still have to fix the issues the first two Volumes had but those problems were significantly smaller compared to the issues that would come later and would be easier to deal with. Unless they did some kind of DC style in universe reboot to just erase all the crap I can't see them moving forward with the series and heading anywhere but right off a cliff.

Or if they face a villain looking to reset the universe like in Jojo part 6.
