Honestly, from what I’ve heard, people weren’t too miffed about Cinder’s hate boner because they spent all of V4 and V5 before the end building it up. What got them was that as soon as the two were in the same room Cinder acted like Ruby didn’t exist.

I know, trust me I've seen enough from adel aka and Vexed Viewer in regards to that from their videos.

She may have been angry but from how cliquey they seem to be (and I also remember hearing about another founding RT member got pushed out due to him being more right leaning politically but I don't remember who).

Joel Heyman:

It's okay, I was guilty of it too. That is until I decided to reinvest all the autism and assburgers I spent on fixing RWBY into working my own thing.

I admit I was also tempted, and it's difficult to resist given that Mounty did lay the foundations of what could've been an amazing show that could've matched top tier anime, ultimately I arrived at the same conclusion. Although RWBY is still printing a lot of money, it never reached it's true potential so I can see why people are trying to do fix it.

And, as much as he denies it to avoid the stigma of "trying to fix Rwby" that's basically what RWBY Cherish is, an attempt to fix that mess.

IMHO, Any competent writer that is good enough to fix it is good enough to do something original on their own, so unless they are doing it for fun or maybe to promote themselves, they would be better spending their time doing exactly that. Because, to be honest, fixing it properly would be basically a full-time writing job.

In an ideal world Rooster, Teeth should be paying a professional writer to reboot it or at least fix what's already there, instead of fans doing it for free.

Cinder having a cosplay slut for a VA is part of what makes her a weak villain yeah. She can only only do "smug and slutty" and "edgelady."

I suspect the only reason Nigri got the job was that someone on the crew had a crush on her and just wanted an excuse to try to date her

There's little reason to have her otherwise, she isn't that famous, outside of the cosplay/weeb circles to keep her for "star power" and she even disappeared a whole season for some reason, and she isn't that skilled as a VA. I mean yeah she is big in her niche, but in the grand scope of things, she isn't that big to choose her over an actual professional voice actress.

At least the others have the excuse that they were the only people available within their budget. But her? knowing her type I sincerely doubt she is doing this cheap enough to justify the expense.

Roland Daggett did explain the Ruby v. Cinder rivalry for me, but this showdown has been wasted and her character isn't interesting...Hell, this showdown is gonna be a disappointment just like the confrontation Jaune had where he was pissed with Ozpin, and took it out on Oscar.

Truthfully, the Battle of Haven is more or less the "big triumph" for our heroes after a humiliating and tragic defeat at Beacon but they (Like Jaune in general) bumbled their way to victory because Cinder went full r-e-tard and the bad guys seemingly downed a whole bottle of stupid pills...Legit, if Salem was much harder than she is then all of the attendees (Emerald, Mercury, and Hazel) would've gotten pretty bad punishments but still better than Cinder who would be deader than a stunt pig because she shat the bed so hard, and still thinks nothing of her partial exile.

I don't care how much Miles and Kerry are jerking themselves off to this bitch, but Cinder needed to get an "Adam Taurus" from Raven in that vault.
I'm starting to believe that Salem's minions are all diversity hires.

You might be onto something, but we gotta wait for the reveal of Hazel / Cinder / Tyrian / Watts of being apart of the LGBTQXYZABC group and then wr can conclude that Salem is hiring diversity tokens.
Lion heart was Ozpin’s diversity hire

Yeah the fact that they've put off a proper fight between Ruby and Cinder for so long (we're going on six full years now) has ruined it from ever being good. There's no way they can match expectations for it because the longer you hold out on something the greater the expectations are gonna be. But because they've hyped Cinder up then wasted her over and over no one cares anymore. Even if they gave a spectacular fight no one really cares. We've seen Cinder get built up and shot down like 3 times already. She's not threatening and she's just exhausting to watch.

The win at Haven was just as lopsided and forced as the loss at Beacon. The villains all went full mary sue in Volume 3 to the point of absurdity (seriously we're supposed to take Maidens seriously as some epic powerhouse but the one we see gets taken down by a couple orphans and a conslut like it was nothing) which put Miles and Kerry in the bind they ended up with in Volume 3 where they had to pull Ruby's deus ex machina silver eyes in order to keep literally everyone from dying. But when you get to Volume 5 they flip the script and make all the bad guys inconceivably stupid and the good guys inexplicably win without breaking a sweat. Hell most of the characters didn't really train so that doesn't even justify how easily they beat the villains. They actively made the bad guys completely incompetent for no other reason than they wanted the good guys to win. The whole thing is so poorly done it's actually baffling. Literal children could write better.

Oh yeah that pissed everyone off. Cinder's supposed to have this huge revenge scheme against Ruby and is shown hating her in Volume 4 and 5... and when she has Ruby dead to rights, surrounded by allies with her target right in front of her.... the two people she attacks are Weiss and Jaune. And Cinder acts like she recognizes Jaune which.... doesn't make sense because she never met him. In fact the only reason she'd have to recognize him would be if he there when she fought Pyrrha which was the original plan. The plan that Miles threw out. So we're left with a bunch of confusing actions that make no sense in a plot that seems dead set on being as illogical as possible.

You’re not really wrong about the Maiden thing.

Much as their concept is built up, none of them really do anything that’s full-on devastating to show that they aren’t to be fucked with... The show tried framing their concept high on the hierarchy (The Gods, Salem / Ozpin, Maidens, and finally the Hunstmen / Huntresses), but we haven’t seen or be give any reason and their powers aren’t explained too well.

According to the wiki (Grain of salt), they have access to magic besides elemental powers and not only do we have no proof but they primarily stick to Elemental crap.

Seriously, Kid Goku in his Great Ape form was a far bigger threat than a Maiden.

Man there are SO many problems with the Maidens. You can't establish that the Maidens hold great power, and are effectively a force of nature then have them be completely weak and useless. They completely crippled the very idea of the Maidens within the same season they introduce the concept. After that "MAGIC IS REAL AND THE MAIDENS EXIST" bit you'd expect more from the Maidens than low tier Semblance abilities.

Given their performance so far, I think the diversity in Salem's minions are the various degrees of mental ineptitude and the untraditional numbers of chromosomes. They might not be as diverse as the cast of Gen:Lock, but that is because Salem doesn't reduce people to their skin color or genital configuration, but is instead willing to give literal speds a chance. Come to think of it, my personal headcanon now is that Salem can get shit done on her own, but hiring Hazel, Tyrian, Watts, Cinder, Mercury and Emerald is just her special needs program.

is it true the creator of the show was killed by his GF and sold all his stuff?
We have a thread on her. Personally I think you could make an argument for negligent killing. But whatever the legal matter is, the most important lesson I see here is not to be a soy-titted bitch who doesn't have the sack to say no to a woman's crazy ideas. Monty paid the price of being a doormat not only with his balls, but with his life.

It's probably what happened when you put things into context, but as everyone already said it would be an "accident" of sorts and there's no real evidence about it. The selling props shit definitely did happen.

is it true the creator of the show was killed by his GF and sold all his stuff?
There's nothing that proves that. It's just a conspiracy theory just like the idea that Rooster Teeth killed Monty to get him out of the way so they could take over RWBY. I think people get really exceptional about the conspiracy theories regarding Monty's death.

That same hype thing could also apply to Team STRQ. And people REALLY want a flashback to those guys.

Even when Monty was around, has this show ever had a major fight NOT be a total curb stomping? For either side?
Oh yeah that pissed everyone off. I remember that. CInder asks who Jaune is, Jaune attacks because Phyrra, Silver Eyes go off, Jaune attacks, trips, Cinder remembers Jaune as idiot who doesn't know he's outmatched, Weiss gets speared, Jaune's semblance is revealed that people have predicted for years. So not only are there plotholes, we also have people not buying their death cliffhanger for a second, and people joking that Jaune is the real main character. As for the rivalry, you had Cinder and her cronies posing as students in V2, but nothing really came of that.

Weren't the power levels in DBZ that they were completely meaningless, unreliable, and complete jokes? Monty and crew didn't realize power levels are bullshit, and I think a lot of people don't honestly.

From what I remember, they said Amber (the Maiden who got her ass kicked), had little experience as a Maiden. As for the powers, it's stupid. Imagine four Avatars in the Avatar State, but with absolutely no rules and can be entered into at will. Oh, when I realized that part of it, I raged.

Yeah but in DBZ there's still a very clear progression in terms of character strength. RWBY is just all over the place.

Just found out about this

So it seems Rooster Teeth and DC stole a fan weapon design and put it in the comic. They FINALLY acknowledge the existence of Glynda... and for some reason she's using a gun and it immediately causes outrage and controversy.
