So it seems Rooster Teeth and DC stole a fan weapon design and put it in the comic. They FINALLY acknowledge the existence of Glynda... and for some reason she's using a gun and it immediately causes outrage and controversy.

Bit late and gay on this, but lmao this company is just getting bent over and fucked from so many angles due to their own stupidity while being NPC tartlets.

I can’t fathom why ANYONE would wanna save gen:ERIC? The series flopped on it’s ass harder than a fat kid in a pool, it has no pull of whatsoever, couldn’t even attract people (Nor the RWBY crowd) towards it, and notably the cast of characters its got have even a bigger stench of the “Burger Kids Club” diversity than RWBY does before we get to Atlas~

Need we also forget the show was a vanity project of Gray Haddock, who pulled so much bullshit behind the scenes in the Animation Division so he could jerk himself off at how “speeshul” his show was? Just lmao.

Why are they trying to save this? I can think of some reasons.

1. HBO Max is launching, and Warner Media needs something to put on it so they can compete with Disney.
2. They dumped so much money into this shit, the suits are going to do whatever it takes to at least break even, no matter how many times they have a Pluto Nash day. Those A list VAs don’t come cheap.
3. Rooster Teeth still sees this as their way of getting to the grownup’s table of entertainment and not just “those guys who screw around in Halo”. If Gen Lock fails, they’re seeing themselves facing death by corporate restructuring square in the face.

I'd argue RWBY's had that issue well before the Atlas arc with the horrible Fanus sublot and its equally horrible handling (along with Emerald being black because of course she is). And with Adam deader than dead, they're definitely going to drop that shit cold.

But if Gen:FLOP's doing as shit as it is, wonder how that'll translate out to the rest of their lineup. I mean people are already bashing on Vol. 7 of their other big show, Camp Camp and Nomad are barely getting much attention to begin with, and considering we know next to nothing about Transformers, which in and of itself pretty worrisome. I get the strangest feeling Warner's going to shut them down come 2020/21 and move their properties over to the main animation studio instead.

wait what does rt have to do with Transformers

From what I’ve heard, Hasbro has RT making a Transformers series.
More a co-production actually. RT's doing the writing with the Prime Wars guys returning. But they aren't doing the animation work like they do RWBY or their other properties. Hasbro's farming that to franchise vet Polygon Pictures, so there's no need to worry about the floaty mo-cap crap the other CGI shows have at least. Plus it's spared their incompetence regarding streaming. Instead we got to deal with Netflix's incompetence.

Dunno nothing about the art style or voice cast though.

So I was trying to look up some info on the backstory of Adam and Cinder being sourced to one of the mobile games and couldn’t necessarily find any, but knowing how things are, I can’t help but admit that’s probably right.

Also I don’t know if this has been discussed about it, but has anyone realized how downplayed people make Cinder’s abuse on Emerald compared to Adam?

Society, amirite?
(But seriously, what the actual fuck?)

It's fine when a women does it, because shes a strong independent woman who wont be held down by the patriarchy.

How much of a ass-pull would it be if it was revealed that Cinder absorbed Pyyrha's soul and was gradually being taken over by her? And at the end, you can guess the rest.
They're not that stupid. I'm pretty sure that Cinder taking Maiden power was just that: taking the power. As much as the writing gets shat on, I'm pretty sure that at some point, common sense always wins out.

Not as much fire as you think, but still worth a watch. https://youtube.com/watch?v=jRyw9xg2HYE:192

Can anyone think of a show with "Celebrity Creators" who pander to the loudest segments of the fandom that doesn't eventually turn into a huge shitshow? I know fans are a smaller studio/niche production's bread and butter, but surely we can reach a happy medium where creators receive fan feedback and support without cultivating a garden of speds who threaten to kill everyone in the production team because their favorite slashpairing didn't become a canon OTP.

Any creator, big or small, should know how to balance their story and appealing to fans. Putting in some fanservice can be a very good thing. Vegeta sticking around in Dragon Ball Z is an example of that and he ended up becoming a fantastic character. Suki coming back in ATLA is also an example of fanservice since she was only brought back because of her insane popularity and ended up becoming a main character. But it's when creators just throw stuff in to desperately try to appease their fans because they have no idea what they're doing when it completely ruins a story, which is the exact case for Miles and Kerry.

I honestly hope this happens. I don't know if this makes me edgy or a bad person, but I kinda like watching woke companies suffer. Stuff like Marvel comics and Vox are always going to be propped up by someone else's money, but nobody is going to come and save RT. Seeing a woke company actually die would be amazing. How would people respond to it? Who would take responsibility? What will be left in the ruins?

Besides the schadenfreude, this is the best that could happen to the RWBY franchise. WB's animation studio has produced a lot of great animated superhero movies and they have a lot of competent people.

WB just has to reboot it as an animated project, maybe even a 2d one and outright make it a pseudo "anime", and with one their dozen competent writers at the lead,it unironically could have the potential of being a huge hit.

Sadly, judging by their Dc comics, it seems like we are stuck with the maiden/relic/ OP Salem plot for a long time...

I agree with his assessment of the FNDM. While people can get borderline jihadist about their favourite ships, the FNDM isn't any worse than the fandoms of Avatar: The Last Airbender (which was just as bad in terms of fan shipping), Steven Universe, Rick and Morty or weebs in general. The problem has been correctly identified as fan-pandering shipbait being the only thing keeping RWBY alive due to the writers' ineptitude.

The other thing that prevents me from shitting on the FNDM is that some few of them use their autism in a constructive manner and create fanworks that are not just better than canon, but unironically good on their own.

In a perfect world RWBY would be written and directed by Takashi Miike and Rob Zombie as God intended.

The Voltron Legendary Defender fandom is far worse than ATLA.

This is a fanbase who were so thoroughly obsessed with the characters of Keith and Lance pairing up together, that when the last season had Lance get together with a woman (Despite him expressing interest in women since the start), who died and even the epilogue didn't have him hooking up with Keith after a bit of a Time Skip~

The end result was the fujoshits jihadists LOSING their collective shit after not being given their One True Pairing, they disowned this entire series and whined about investing time in it for an imaginary pairing of "UwU Bois!" before deciding to do a AU (Unlike other AU shit people do), wherein the characters are even MORE "Burger King Kids Club" than what Gray Haddock shat out for gen;ERIC and the sole focus on it is the characters Akira and Leandro (Keith and Lance respectively.) as their main pitch.

That's not even mentioning bashing VLD on Twatter and hyping Tomorrow as a "real" diverse series.

DC Comics eh? Given what I’ve heard about the current batch of RWBY comics, that’s not optimistic. Also, DC hasn’t cared about their comics since 2013.

On a lighter note, I’ve heard people want Arc System Works to pick up the IP.
