This. The first seasons of RvB would get the Rooster Teeth founders sent to a concentration camp if SJW's had their way.
Yang wanted to meet her mom. Supposedly Raven left shortly after giving birth to her.
I think it would have been better to have Yang stay at the bandit camp a few days, actually flesh Raven out more, show that Vernal was the daughter that Yang could never be.
Schnee Dust Company. I think they were laying ground work for the Atlas arc where the Faunus are second class citizens.
Also in his character short, if you see his face when they are cheering him killing the humans, that is the face of a fat kid that didn't get picked last for a game of kickball. He was finally worth something.
He just became more extreme because people actually paid attention to him.
I wouldn't even mind them being bi, if it didn't feel railroaded. Blake, at least, feels semi-believable. Yang just seems like she was loaded into a cannon and shotgunned into lesbianism.
I'm not sure if this is the right one? But this tweet seems to make Fandom think "it's a confirm". I mean, it's the only statement so far I've known from Blake's VA on Adam behaviour.
Two things: 1. The fairy tale references have always been superficial in this show. Unless they decided to actually make it mean something all of a sudden. 2. Do not put any stock in these Beauty and The Beast comparisons. Bumblebee shippers will change it every time depending on what argument they’re trying to make at that moment.
Hey guys I did a quick search and it seems this thread isn't aware of Jerry Freeman yet. He's a shitposter I follow and he put forth a video attempting to reconstruct RWBY into a plausibly decent story:
Unfortunately I wasn't a member of his Discord, but what ended up happening was the project gained some minor traction and even got a couple of songs performed by a minor artist:
..and then apparently a section of the subfandom pulled a mutiny and ousted Jerry from this "what if" scenario:

I cannot stress enough that this goddamn community is by far the worst thing about this show. To anyone who's seeing this thread and even considering watching the show, just don't get involved. It's a hivemind of groupthink, toxicity and blatant revisionist behavior that would make a tiny Southeast Asian People's Republic green with envy.
The RWBY wiki seems to be filled with people who actively hate the show. "We're too cool to like this show and we dedicated a lot of time to making a wiki about it, because we don't like it."
One poster pissed me off so bad I spent several hours refuting their post, the internet ate my comment (logged out due to inactivity), then I spent another hour typing it back in because fuck that guy.
Honestly I would expect the “Beast” to be Sun...of course I’m incredibly biased because I’m still mad about Bumblebee.
Also is it weird that my only view of this relationship is like a slightly less toxic version of her relationship with Adam?
The Beast has to be someone with angst, selfish and "broken", while Sun is 100% the opposite. Blake-Sun ship is definitely better, because Sun actually has a character while Adam is just a toxic waste (as in story telling direction). But I'd say it's only a bit better, since Blake hits Sun any time that he "messes" with her, uwu tsundere cat girl is so kawaii .
Also, since I find love or obsession for characters and shipping ranges from "laughable" to just "pathetic". It's not like I dismiss all that stuff, I can find interaction between characters is cute/adorable, like characters with good personality and their design. But seeing a bunch of fan arts about these on a specific platform and shipping attitude (no such thing as being friend, I'll link a video below), I just don't get it.

Well, since the day I've browsing social media a lot more, especially in any fandom discussion. I only take people interpretation or "hints" as a grain of salt, unless the story or creators say so, then I'll believe. And you already know how RWBY is like "all implication, hinting, speculation, references but no exploration/backstory or explanation, hamfisted" so on.

And this.

EZ is like Jewish, WalMart brand E;R. He's not as funny, doesn't make points as well, borderline doesn't edit at all, and rambles autistically through about half of each video while barely staying on topic. I really don't know why people watch his videos other than because they enjoy hearing their own opinions repeated back to them by someone far less articulate.
I remember watching RWBY since the trailers. RvB has been my pressure release valve during exams, and I really had a soft spot for RT, so I kept at it, but the series went to shit, and especially as Miles took over writing for RvB he started injecting politics into it and I immediately checked out. Looks like I didn't suffer any "sunk costs" as others ITT have.
The show had lots of potential, especially showing characters work through war level PTSD and grief, developing real antagonists, but instead we got the current mess. I stopped bothering with RoosterTeeth.
The shipbait is, as stated, one of the few - if not the only thing - keeping RWBY alive. Although I am a connoisseur of the yuri genre, which comes with being a patrician, I have to agree with the sentiment expressed towards the gay ships. I would be the first to welcome the canonization of Bumblebee and White Rose if they were the results of organic character development rather than something Miles and Kerry pulled out of their assess to placate the fandom while retconning the characters into the dirt.
In the Weeb Wars thread I once briefly mentioned how Blake is a wasted character, but dear God did they shit the bed with Adam! I do understand that it is beyond the proven limited mental capabilities of Miles to make Adam for example the Faunus equivalent of Taras Bulba, but degrading his character into an angry and jealous incel for the sake of Bumblebee fanservice is just the writers giving up in my opinion. The only redeemable thing is that the potential incel/bottom text Adam memes have possibilities for a lot of lols though.
To repeat more or less what I said in the Weeb Wars general: If shipping is what keeps your series alive and if the fans do a way better job and writing and character development, you might as well unironically Kurt Cobain yourself or nuke everything and start all over again.
I was a casual viewer of the series and started to lose interest as the later seasons came out. The most recent one and all the behind the scenes drama was the final nail in the coffin. The fourth season was the first one after Monty's death, I think, and the episodes showed just how bad things would come with regards to the writing. The whole drama with Weiss' family appeared as if the writers wanted to put in a GOT-esque episode without the gratuitous violence and siblings fucking each other.
RWBY sucks, is made by people who think of anime as a genre not a medium and Monty stole models from MMD.
Also their number 1 crime is making people associate the Nuckelavee and other cool moonsters with the generic black spikey lizards that make up half the shows villains.

My brain is going to explode from the sheer stupidity. Of course Adam was the Beast. That's why he's called Adam and has the horns. Blake was Belle, that's why her last name is Belladonna. This is all literally as obvious as it can be, but of course RT will literally change any bit of canon at the drop of a hat to pander. I'm tired of these VAs having so much influence over this cause that just wrecks the tiny bit of consistency the show has left. Oh wait, there it goes. There's no consistency left.
