Andrew Garfield would rather be on the right side of Hollywood than history

Celebrities are so obsessed with displaying their fantasy virtue that they can’t even enjoy culture any more

I almost feel sorry for Andrew Garfield. Imagine the impermeable, smug bubble of celebrity group-think you would need to live in to think it’s still fashionable to bash JK Rowling.

That was my first thought when I saw the British actor take a swipe at Rowling last week. That this boy from Epsom is now so far up the fundament of LA luvvie nonsense that he still thinks mocking women who believe in biology is where it’s at.

It was during an interview with Hits Radio that Garfield, best known for playing Spider-Man, engaged in that most archaic woke sport of Rowlingphobia.
He told the host that he had only recently watched the original Harry Potter films from the 2000s. And they’re actually quite good, he said, with sullen, teenage vexation.

Then he let rip on Ms Rowling for her apparently demonic belief that people with penises are men, not women. “I know it’s controversial”, he said, “and we shouldn’t be putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through she that shall remain nameless…”

Where to even begin with such late 2010s vapid moral preening? Perhaps with the idea that it’s “controversial” to watch movies based on Rowling’s beloved novels.
What a chilling insight into the mindset of the self-regarding social-justice warrior. These people are so fastidiously obsessed with maintaining and displaying their fantasy virtue that they can’t even enjoy culture any more.

One pictures Garfield plonking down on his couch, a sweat breaking upon his brow, as he does that thing “good people” are not supposed to do: engage with the cultural output of That Woman. It’s a species of madness.

Then there’s his reference to “she that shall remain nameless”. She really is Voldemort to these moral infants – a devilish figure whose dark power grows upon every utterance of her name.

Rowling has become a Satan substitute for the godless fools of TikTok and La La Land. Purple-haired they/thems have even burnt her books like witch-finders of old setting fire to heretical texts.

Garfield has no idea how stunningly out of touch he sounds. And he isn’t alone. Other inhabitants of that rarefied plane of lazy, loopy celeb-think have also laid into Rowling for her perfectly normal belief that women are real and should have rights.

Some of the cast of the old Potter movies have had a pop. Daniel Radcliffe once implied that Rowling was “eras[ing] the identity and dignity of transgender people”.
Emma Watson has continually bristled against Rowling and her criticism of the trans ideology. Harry Potter and the Ungrateful Brats.

This led to one of the most delicious public takedowns of modern times, when Rowling, after years of holding her tongue, gave Ms Watson a piece of her mind.
“Like other people who’ve never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she’s ignorant of how ignorant she is”, Rowling wrote on X last year. Ouch. She That Shall Remain Nameless certainly shall not remain silent.

I'm seeing quite a bit of comment about this, so I want to make a couple of points.

I'm not owed eternal agreement from any actor who once played a character I created. The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was twenty-one for what opinions I should… https://t.co/c0pz19P7jc

Last year, Pedro Pascal accused Rowling of being a “heinous LOSER” whose campaigning is “awful disgusting SH-T”. Why was he so mad? Because Rowling had the temerity to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling that said “woman” in the Equality Act refers to actual women.

The anti-Rowling bozos are so fantastically out of time. They’re the “LOSERS”. Their demented campaign to exile Rowling into a life of shame and bury her cultural legacy has been a catastrophic and hilarious failure.

Rowling is in the ascendancy. A multi-billion-dollar HBO series of the Harry Potter novels lands later this year. And women, many with Rowling’s backing, are scoring brilliant victories against the trans ideology’s upending of women’s rights and invasion of women-only spaces.

Garfield, Radcliffe, Pascal and the rest should be put on the spot. They should be made to tell us exactly what they hate about Rowling’s campaigning.
Is it her belief that men are not women? Is it her funding of Biera’s Place in Edinburgh, a women-only service for survivors of sexual assault? Is it her opposition to men playing in women’s sports, including boxing, where biological males pound women literally for sport?

Come on lads, out with it – which of these things do you find “heinous”, and why?

As a never been HP fan I wandered online for a look at official merch that I could buy to help the Trans Genocide along a wee bit, and there is a LOT !

Thinking something like a pen or notepad could be triggering out in the wild for Troons , even a packet of HP sweets would work lol
Put more effort into it cosplay as Harry Potter at a trans pride event.

There could have been some further irritation that the character was portrayed as selfish, condescending and gave no fucks about the lifestyle changes with their effects on his family, but I stopped caring about it before reading more.

There was also a not insignificant number of Troons complaining about Chandler Bing being so uncomfortable with the situation and therefore a transphobe, but as usual they had missed the point.

Bing was uncomfortable because it was a huge and unexpected thing at the time, which destroyed a lot of his world view and perception of his father.
Which is perfectly understandable and reasonable for normal people, but trannies of course only consider the comfort of themselves and other trannies.

Ironically, that portrayal of Chandler's father—selfish, condescending, doesn't care how his transition will affect his family— sounds EXACTLY like the accounts of real life TiMs transitioning destroying their families they made when they were "men". No wonder they were mad.

Suspect part of the reason for how we got into the mess we're in now is so many 'trans women' characters until pretty recently were almost always played by actual women, and most normies only knew about them from TV/movies, so when they hear about 'trans women' that's what they picture (unless they're Jerry Springer fans). Decades of conditioning to make them believe that's what modern medicine can achieve. That it can turn a man into Kathleen Turner. And while that could have been part of the intent, it's more likely that it's mainly that it's much easier to just cast a woman and say 'she used to be a man' than to find a TIM who can play the part well, particularly if the character is supposed to believably not be instantly clockable as a man to everyone for plot reasons.

Same situation with Ugly Betty. Trans character played by Rebecca Romijn. But since that show was based on a telenovela, and those are basically soap operas (where characters changing sex is a pretty standard trope), it never really stood out.

I would watch a video of one of those street-interviewer channels dressed up in full HP cosplay at a trans pride event. That sounds hilarious. Just the sight of Harry Potter would cause a major amount of seething and chimping out.

Sophia in 'Orange is the New Black' too, even though the show pulled out the stops to glaze him and make him seem like a sympathetic victim and avoid anything that would raise any of the real issues presented by housing males in women's prisons, he was still ultimately an incredibly selfish asshole thief who blew up his family, showed that despite identifying as a woman he doesn't identify with women when he advised his son to pretend to like girls he isn't actually interested in and lead them on for practice, tried to steal a menopausal woman's HRT, and on and on and on. But the spin makes it harder to see how much of an asshole he is unless you actually think about it.

If there's one thing TIMs can't abide, it's an honest mirror. There's a sort of poetic justice in that for a population so riddled with narcissists.

I’m not into Harry Potter but what’s up with this casting? What if he dies during the series and you have to replace him with…someone who isn’t John Lithgow? His character is a pretty big deal in the books, no?
They're staying true to the spirit of the series and casting a Dumbledore that will die a third of the way into the story and replaced by someone else.

It's tradition.

Some great pushback in comments of The Verge's new tranny ball-licking article:

The most amusing thing here is watching, for what feels like the 15'th time in my life, a bunch of middle age millennials unironically turning into their parents with calls to 'ban this filth' , and complaining about how much better kids shows were back in the day.
This is Marvel and Star Wars and LoTR fandom all over again, except even more gay, and this time with death threats.

Only to do them credit my parents generation never gave a shit about any of this kiddy nonsense. They just thought kids should be outside throwing rocks at cats instead of reading about gay wizards. While this generation still considers itself young at heart. Still watches Adult Swim originals, Still owns multiple rick and morty t-shirts, Still has in depth opinions about which are the 5 best Steven Universe episodes.

Yes, Chandler's dad was a tranny/crossdresser.

Played by Kathleen Turner, which caused some tranny seethe at the time over whether a trans character should have been played by a trans person,
I was never a regular 'Friends' viewer, but this plotline made me sad for Turner. She went from a sultry sexbomb in the 1980s to playing a 'suburban mom' in the 1990s to playing a man in 'Friends'.

Decades of conditioning to make them believe that's what modern medicine can achieve. That it can turn a man into Kathleen Turner.

Rebecca fucking Romijn, who was so feminine and fit she was basically naked as Mystique in the original X-Men films.

I've complained about it before. In 'Ugly Betty', when the audience finds out that Romijn's character is a tranny, it is surprisingly effective because nobody would confuse Romijn with a man.

Imagine instead that Romijn's character had been played by an actual MtF actor, and the audience would have to pretend to be surprised she's the main love interest's brother. Pathos.

I thought the one from the first series of The New Statesman (Rik Mayall comedy from the late 80s/early 90s) was quite funny.
You had this character Norman, played by an actress in pooner makeup. He underwent a sex change to hide from the authorities and returned as Norma (same actress), but there were quite a few jokes about Norma being very ugly and manly.

Back in the day if you wanted to genocide minorities you had to actually round 'em up and gas 'em. Nasty business. Messy. Nowadays all you have to do to is passively consume media, and then they do your work for you and kill themselves! Adolf Hitler stands in awe of the inroads the millennial generation has made in genocide technologies. In your face, Hitler.

Thus laying the groundwork for accepting the assertion 'You can't tell who is trans!' and that there are secret troons all around you just completely stealth, so there, neener neener.

Meanwhile when you actually cast trans, whether as trans characters or not, they're consistently so clockable it's jarring and the gender mafia also take offense. Like the creators did it on purpose. Even just as voice actors for animated characters, like in Hogwarts Legacy. Hari Nef being so hilariously miscast as an intimidatingly perfect female rival to the beautiful main actress in 'You' that the moment his character showed up my sweet little old oblivious mother immediately said "...Is he supposed to be a woman?" Trying to make these miserable entitled fucks happy is a losing game.

Not a trans actor, but maybe one of the most illuminating castings for me was in 'Penny Dreadful.' It was supposed to be a surprise reveal. They cast the most effeminate tiny twink of an actor to play 'Angelique.' Seriously, look up Jonny Beauchamp and laugh at how much he resembles a pooner when he's not in drag. Troons would kill to be starting from a place of looking like him. Instantly clockable as a man the moment he's presented as a woman, even before you get a good look at his movements, mannerisms, or hear him speak much, which all just contribute to him not even remotely passing. The makeup and hairstyling and even the structured period clothing that's DESIGNED to create an exaggerated feminine silhouette by cinching in and padding out just highlight how male he is. Because what reads as effeminate in men doesn't actually translate into what reads as feminine or even female in women. Pattern recognition kicks in, the uncanny valley imposter is clocked, and the 'surprise' penis reveal was like walking into a 'surprise' party after accidentally being added to the groupchat planning it weeks ahead of time, walking up to your front door past the cars of all of your friends and family, and having to pretend to be surprised. (This one's also funny because it's a series where basically every other significant character is some kind of monster or other figure from 19th century horror fiction and then there's just this character shoehorned in to be a tranny, with seemingly no other point to him existing, but of course all of the Victorian protagonists rush to affirm how valid and special he is).

I hope more major media franchise creators come out as anti-troon. Imagine if another major franchise like Star Wars or Pokemon made troons seethe the same way Harry Potter did. (It's unlikely Star Wars would since it's owned by Disney now, and Pokemon is Japanese so I doubt they'd comment on troons either, but you get my point, some other massive franchise that troons see everywhere.)

They've only started going on about a "genocide" since the war in the Gaza Strip started, haven't they? Before that it was all "trans lives matter". They are always aping someone else's slogans and claims.

Pure narcissism. They always somehow have to be the most affected. Although I think the "troon genocide" shit is moreso about Trump being elected a second time. They're so delusional that they genuinely think Trump will build trans concentration camps for them.
