I've noticed that the new line now among wokoids seems to be that 'the evil J.K. Rowling is only insisting that Warner Bros. make this new series as petty revenge because all of the actors from the originals spoke out against her bigotry and she wants to try and spitefully erase those universally beloved, classic films from the public consciousness'.

Which, apart from the idea that J.K. Rowling is like some kind of terrifying evil witch that all of the execs at Warner Bros. are really intimidated by and thus, feel they have no choice but to carry out the will of (as opposed to her merely being the creator and rights holder of literally one of the very, very few consistently profitable and universally popular IPs that Warner Bros. have left), is interesting, because I remember when they were saying the original Harry Potter films were all horrendously overrated slop, full of really problematic and cringey shit (please watch my ten hour long YouTube video essay to find out more!), and that all of the people involved were transphobes and fascists, and that they're glad Robbie Coltrane's dead and they hope he rots in hell, and Percy Jackson was better anyway, and so on and so on, etc., and so forth.

It's one of my favourite things about watching the drawn out death rattle of this toxic fucking mind virus and the cultists that try to propagate it - watching the narratives shift over time as their influence slips away from them.

Yes! I have seen that twice in the last 24 hours. They have absolutely no idea how anything works! Also they are all convinced she needs new income to finance a global anti-trans crusade, when all she has said is she'll finance a few discrimination cases in the UK if they turn up. As if she needs a new TV show to afford that! She is a billionaire but she needs money, she lives in a castle but her house is moldy etc... Nothing in their head makes sense.
 
It's funny subreddits like okbuddycinephile think the show doing good will "own" JK when she's already got her bag for the show. It bombing now just means she won't get as much residuals off the show but it's not like she isn't already set for life. I'm more in the camp of that spergy guy in the car; don't watch the show if you hate her. Watching black Hermoine getting called a mud blood by Malfoy or Snape being lynched by Harry's dad isn't going to own the chuds.
 
The bigger racism with Cho Chang's name that her strategy on the field is to let opponent do all the work and just copy result - exactly what China does last century (maybe even longer).

A bit off-topic, but I unironically think that Kanye West could've been S-tier Severus Snape.

Like yeah, sure meme your way into pretending the show failed. It worked so well for Hogwarts Legacy.

I guess the difference is that we dont really know the numbers for most streaming shows, so expect lots of unconfirmed rumors about singe digit view counts and cast members tearfully repenting as they offer to fellate a tranny.

I'll be here for all of it.

I think it's going to be really interesting, because I suspect we'll see a weird kind of mirror image of the sort of thing that the lefties used to criticise the right-wing chuds for doing with the likes of The Acolyte, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and all those other awful woke, pandering Disney+ shows.

I would not be at all surprised if we started seeing weird, inverted equivalents of these sort of thumbnails popping up on the channels of the usual Breadtube suspects, all making reaction videos about Harry Potter - in fact, I can fully see an absolute bottom-feeder like, say, Xanderhal, doing that.

Every reaction video about Harry Potter will be followed by a long argument across three or four different social media sites about the ethics of doing reaction videos about Harry Potter.

Then there will be reaction videos to the inevitable tearful apology videos for the previous videos. Fun times ahoy.

My deepest hope is that one of the twats that make anti-Rowling videos in witch costumes will ceremonially remove their conical hat and hopefully shove it up their arse.

Good or bad, this will be fun to watch play out (the series AND the meltdowns).

Nostalgia hits hard. And with how stressful the world is right now, I can see some "good allies" "relapsing" as it were, looking for a hit of something from a more hopeful time.
