Is it true that the series will only have one season after the backlash?
Is that the same backlash that has financially ruined JK Rowling, has seen the video game totally flop, that has seen merchandise stacked up in warehouses and not being sold?

The "backlash" has been from a small group of gobshites who never have enough money to purchase anything other than slutty frocks, titty skittles and ill fitting wigs.

There's no evidence it will only be one season; they've already writen season 2. The announcement was that season 2 might be delayed due to the extra SFX work it requires.

Witnessing some cope and seethe on Discord about the new HP show on HBO Max. Genderspecials who secretly like HP and want to watch the series are all twisted up about the "morality" of doing so.

Anonymous confession (they used a bot): i hate JKR and support trans rights but I still hold a tiny bit of love for HP (first hyper fixation, it was always a comfort for my autistic ass.) I don’t engage with any of it these days though but icl the trailer for the new series looks kinda decent and I feel like a bad person for lowkey wanting to watch it

"she/they": I do understand where you're coming from anon with still being attached to it. IMO the *only* way to engage with HP without JKR profiting/succeeding is to engage with not for profit fanworks on sites likes ao3 that are 'closed off'. As long as there is hype/discussion/any type on online discourse then TV networks and production companies will see HP as a viable and profitable content machine and that feeds into JKR's campaign against Trans and queer people.

"She/her, 30s:" Yeah it's hard to practice death of the author when author pretty much alive and still doing harm.

"20 something | he/they:"
Death of the author is a term that is in regards to an authors intent. E.g A reading of the source material that conflicts or contradicts what the creator has said about it is not any less correct or valid because authorial intent does not supersede the interpretation of the audience

"Separating the art from the artist" is also used a lot in terms of enjoying/engaging art created by someone in direct moral conflict with you

But, it's difficult to near impossible to do that in reality. E.g Reclaiming HP Lovecraft's stories as a celebration of community is a valid interpretation, but, you can't divorce his incredible racism (extreme even for the time) from his material because it does influence the entire scope of his work. But, he's long dead and is not profiting of any sort of engagement in said work.

JK Rowling is still very much alive and using her money and influence to do active harm. Tangible harm and that every single day is making the lives of trans people worse globally. and you cannot divorce that from her work either. people can headcanon harry or hermione or ginny as trans or find context from the source material to support a trans reading but that doesn't erase Rowling's description of Rita Skeeter being a transphobic caricature

pirating media is not the same as boycotting media. You are still searching for the content, you are still engaging with the content. Google searches, socmed searches, interacting with gifs/articles/interviews. that all fuels the big old algorithms studios use to measure engagement and that will be a big Check Plus Plus in their books. Pirated media still has to come from somewhere, the person downloading the content still gave it a view/paid for it. HP and Rowling do not deserve any sort of engagement. I truly hope that her and her IP will die a quick death of fading away in the cultural wasteland.

and if you are so bent out of shape about not being able to watch it (even pirating it) the least you could do is donate to a trans org or charity.

- Sahodari Foundation - an indian based trans charity (especially important after the roll back of trans rights there)
- Point of Pride - us based, provides gender affirming care to those who can't afford it
- Mermaids - uk based, supporting trans kids (very important since puberty blockers have been banned)

Indian trannies? :cryblood:

another "she/they:" im trying to find a way to not participate in our library's hp event in April, but i was threatened to make me do it through our principal 😔 I hate that its hard to explain to people why im boycotting HP, when trans and queer topics are banned here

"They/He:" I think there is a level of doing the best you can with regard to staying away from it. I understand it means a lot to some people still and while not perfect things such as piracy, fanworks, and fan made merchandise are at least technically harm minimisation. However it does unfortunately still keep the IP in the public consciousness and increases JKs reach and influence.

I also really wish she wasn't such a fucking terrible person but sadly she is so I chose to leave the series behind once it came to light. I'm still trying to decide what I plan to do with my book set I have hidden away. Something paper mache probably.

I'm looking forward to all the seething at the inevitable flood of new HP content. I definitely plan to watch it myself.

I'm adding titty skittles to my vocabulary now lmao. Also you left out that said gobshites entomb themselves in cheap makeup.

Is it true that the series will only have one season after the backlash?
Everyone is on contract. The show will have at least 3 seasons before the kids grow up ugly, moody, entitled. It's a different Hollywood now. Those kids may not survive 3+ seasons. With how much they're spending on this and how much they spent - those kids might burn out, production will delay and delay puberty will hit and they'll realize they hired the wrong people.

We'll see. But it will go on for more seasons. Notable backlash is over snape - Hermione is nonexistent. Tranny shit is ignored. Nobody gives a fuck about those freaks when actual money is in play.

When there's "bonus" money to be made - they will lick the stink ditch and validate. Other than that nobody gives a fuck about less than 2%.

It's insane that they even need to deliberate this hard and twist their panties up over it, because even if it is a matter of ethics, the answer is extremely simple: if you want to consume media by artists you disagree with "ethically", IE without enriching the author monetarily or via exposure, then A: pirate it (denying it fiscal benefit), and B: don't talk about it (denying it social benefit).

It's not that fucking complicated.

Apparently pirating it is just as bad

No, that's just what the clickbait headline I posted claimed. If you're seeing it repeated on social media do share, we like a laugh.
Indian trannies?
Funny story. It's not going well for them currently.
India's parliament has passed a controversial bill that seeks to change how transgender people are legally recognised and their right to self-identify, amid protests by opposition parties and the LGBTQ community.

The government says the changes will make welfare benefits more accessible and strengthen an existing law against exploitation and trafficking, but critics warn it could exclude many transgender, non-binary and gender-fluid people.

India is estimated to have around two million transgender people, though activists say the true number is higher and legal recognition remains uneven.

The legislation was approved by both houses this week and now needs the president's assent to become law.
In 2014, India's Supreme Court recognised transgender people as a "third gender" and affirmed their right to self-identify.

Despite legal protections, many transgender people in India continue to face discrimination and limited access to education, healthcare and formal employment, often relying on traditional or informal forms of work.

In 2019, the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act was enacted, aimed at addressing vulnerabilities faced by the community.

Now, the new bill - essentially a proposed amendment to the 2019 law - centres on how a transgender person is defined.

The government says the current definition is too vague and makes it difficult to identify those who are most marginalised.

It argues that a narrower definition will help ensure welfare benefits - such as job reservations and healthcare support - reach those who need them.

It says the changes are intended to protect people facing "extreme and oppressive" discrimination and to prevent exploitation and trafficking.

The bill removes the right to self-identify and instead limits recognition to those defined by biological or physical traits. This includes people with intersex variations - where a person is born with sex characteristics that do not fit typical definitions of male or female - as well as traditional identities long used among transgender communities in India.

The bill also makes certification from medical boards and district authorities mandatory for those undergoing gender-affirming surgeries.

Activists say the new bill moves away from the self-identification principle of the 2014 court ruling and could reshape how transgender people are legally recognised.

Critics further argue that the new definition could exclude many transgender people, particularly those who rely on self-identification, including some trans men and women as well as non-binary and gender-fluid people.

They also say that mandatory medical certification undermines dignity and autonomy.

"It has shattered our identity," transgender rights activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi told reporters.

Activist Grace Banu told a press conference in Delhi that the community was seeking "recognition without invasion" and "rights without humiliation".

"This is not protection, but violation," Banu said.

The removal of "the factor of self-determination" in the bill is an "attack on the privacy and dignity of the individual", lawyer N Kavitha Rameshwar wrote, external in The Times of India newspaper.

A Supreme Court-appointed advisory panel has asked the government to withdraw the bill, saying the removal of self-identification goes against the 2014 ruling of the top court. The panel also called for wider consultation, warning the changes could be a setback to efforts to protect transgender rights.

Over the past two weeks, members of the LGBTQ community have held protests across India against the proposed changes.

Opposition politicians have also criticised the bill and called it "draconian".

Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi called it a "brazen attack" on transgender rights, while Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) questioned why it was introduced in what she called a "hasty manner".

There are a billion articles now about "poor Snape actor receives murder threats, needs increased security etc". Where are all these people who care deeply about online harassment when trannies want to kill and rape JK Rowling? Sure, you could say "poor billionaire, she can get the best security in the world anyway and will be fine", but it's still massively hypocritical. Obviously it's because they think JKR has problematic opinions and nobody dares to call out tranny violence.

Everyone always just vaguely refers to "JKR's views on trans rights" and never elaborates because she needs to sound as evil as possible to everyone who is not in the loop.

It just feels like this is being overblown by the press and media to push the whole "digital safety" nonsense, to increase online surveillance and get rid of anonymity on the Internet.

Their own propaganda and delusions will mentally destroy them.

In their imaginations, they are fighting Nazi hordes, and every kid that buys a plastic wand is literally Hitler, because (a) they are obsessed with violence and see themselves as heroic freedom fighting main characters who will gladly die for the Cause, and (b) because this fantasy is preferable to the reality in which that kid with the wand doesn’t actually want to kill you, they don’t actually care about you at all, and probably nobody cares about you. The banality of reality is crushing. Every day is the cold light of day, and instead of the febrile fantasy of running tactical ops against an incoming wave of TERF slavers, what they actually have to face is a mirror mirror on the wall which reminds them YWNBAW at all.

The vast majority of HP fans don’t care about this shit, and the TERFs aren’t actually Nazis, they are rather mild middle-aged ladies who make reasonable points that most people agree with, and this is devastating to their narcissism.

Important asterisk to add here, let's not forget that aside from the Troon Question, Rowling is bluepilled to the max.
