It's a whole bunch of nothing. There's no legal requirement to maintain AIS history data on any given website. In fact, the IMO objects to that information being freely available to begin with, which rather puts a dent in the troon "she can't do that!" crying. I'm not sure why she'd remove it, other than to avoid having a troon turn up at her next port of call, but she's well within her rights to do so.

Everything I can find says Rowling bought her yacht in 2023. If they’re trying to connect her turning the tracking off to Epstein Island, do they think she has actual magic powers and is using it to travel back in time there?

If memory serves this was also one of the people seething that Trump's tariffs meant it would up the cost of getting their products manufactured overseas.

So almost certainly crafted by sweatshop workers.

You’re correct. Gregory Macguire’s Wicked is really bizarre and an absolute slog of a read with the heavy-handed way he spergs about fantasy world politics. It’s also not remotely for children, the musical is an extremely Disney-fied version that has nothing but the basic premise in common. It’s got lots of violence, weird fetish shit like the author having a fascination with piss, and an absolutely unnecessary amount of sexual degeneracy. Everything from adultery to rape to straight up beastiality in some underground sex show.

I can see why troons would be in favor of introducing it to children.
Thank you for the elaboration. I knew there was graphic sexual stuff in there, but I didn't know the specifics.

Say what you want about the politics, or the world building, or the lack of diversity, but I think JK's biggest strength (and ultimately the HP series strength) is that she just knows how to spin a yarn with colorful characters. It's just Basic Storytelling 101. Some might call that trite, but mastering the basics gives you a great foundation to do whatever else you want.

I also think her focus on just plain old friendship (at least for the first few books) can be a major draw. The Alphabet Crew can scream about representation, but as a kid, I really wasn't into the "shipping" aspect of any media. I enjoyed the comradery and adventures the main trio went on. Maybe it's different for kids raised on internet porn, but for me, I hated it when the main narrative revolved around pairing up romantically, regardless of orientation.

It's a dogshit game with pretty pieces. That's why it's popular. Her other games have been huge flops.
It's very simplistic, can be pleasant enough to play.

Wyrmspan did nothing for me since it was a clear appeal to the dregs of the board game players, those that will buy a recoloured version of a game "because daragons" and while Finspan seemed interesting when her politics became clear I took my stance. Claiming the moral high ground while relying on labour in places like China is pretty repellent.

More hysteria:

Upper Deck is facing concerted online backlash after licensing Harry Potter collectibles

It says on here the post is for paid subscribers but I'm seeing what might be the whole article, not sure.

Update Feb. 11, 11:42 am GMT: This piece has been updated to include Upper Deck's initial plans with the Harry Potter license, which does not include a collectible card game. In a press release by Upper Deck, these include releasing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 25th anniversary trading cards, alongside a Fleer Ultra Harry Potter with Ultra inserts and original art. The header has also been amended to reflect this change.
The original article continues below.

A week after Upper Deck announced a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to create Harry Potter collectibles on 7 January, game designer Marceline Leiman decided to rally against the company. On Bluesky, Leiman implored the industry for help to push Upper Deck into retracting their announcement. She also pushed for change through the Block Collective, a grassroots, volunteer-run community of players, designers, and media professionals dedicated to challenging transphobia within the tabletop space. “We have a plan for continuing pressure through email campaigns, but we have been unsuccessful so far,” said Leiman, who’s also the founder of the Block Collective, in an email to Rascal. “Upper Deck continues to do wrong by their community, openly deleting and blocking discourse from appearing on their socials with no explanation or recourse.”

By now, the transphobia of Harry Potter creator, JK Rowling, has been well-documented. For one, there’s her numerous fevered diatribes on social media. There’s her use of her financial proceeds to fund anti-trans organizations. There’s also the cruel, provocative picture of her smoking a cigar in celebration of the UK supreme court ruling, which has stated the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex. This has seen the grassroot movement to boycott the Harry Potter series intensifying, one of which is against the 2023 Harry Potter video game, Hogwarts Legacy. Similarly, the Block Collective is calling for a boycott effort against JK Rowling’s works, stating on Bluesky that it’s advocating for an “immediate stop to all purchases from Upper Deck”. “We haven’t been able to make direct contact with them, but our actions have gotten them to reply to us on multiple social media,” said Leiman. “Despite this, their response so far has been completely unsatisfactory. They have only said that they don't have Harry Potter games ‘in the works’, but make no promises to never do so, don’t acknowledge any wrong-doing so far [and] the outcry of their community, nor address their current plans to release multiple sets of Harry Potter trading cards. Outside of their messages, they have not shown any remorse or shared any plans for moving forward.”

(Clearly Leiman has had this article planted by a journalist friend as he is the only source for it.)

Some admirable trolling on the Upper Deck Discord:

Never played it to be honest, but cute birds looks cute and the artstyle is good. I will probably never play it
It is decent enough, but there are better tableau builders would with less retarded decisions. It feels like it has too many mechanics for a casual player, while being worse than more hard core games (like Race for the galaxy). In particular the fact that there is no player interaction except for the shared bird market and food pool makes it not interactive enough to matter, but too interactive to just let everyone play at their own pace. RFTG does allow for simultanious play and that plays 10x better because it has good pacing. It's 90% carried by birds. And it doesn't even do the theme well. It would be cool if there was some kind of season mechanic that makes different actions better at different times to force players to either compete for food in spring/summer, or take actions out of season to prevent crowding.

And like all stonemeyer games you have to fix it with an expansion and remove the crow cards, because SM cannot release balanced games to save his life.

I didn't find it simplistic, you have the birds, the tableau, the shared objectives and personal objectives. For new players that is quite a lot. The theme doesn't help explain anything either. If the objective cards were scrapped, the end of round challenges were changed to just a single end of game challenge, and added in a season mechanic that makes sense the game would be better, less convoluted and more teachable.

Also her other games suck and they needed to hire help to make the spinoffs.

I love it when they try to emotionally manipulate with lines like “you care more about your wizard franchise more than the lives of trans people!!”.

Let’s put aside the fact that the trans community must not experience much genuine suffering if this is the closest thing they have to an existential threat—yes, most people would choose Harry Potter over literally every trans person who has ever existed. At least the wizard franchise has brought them joy and fun and entertainment. Troonery has been a total net negative.

the person who ran the offical wicked xitter account for advertising the movie used it to gravedance on charlie kirk when he died. Although whoever ran it deleted it 2 minuets after, either xe posted to the wrong account or relised xe could get fired for it which most likely happened. Wicked is in my top 10 worst internet fandoms, it might be top 5

Less Blue sky outrage than expected.
You need to look into the Magic the Gathering community specifically rather than just Hasbro. The MTG community is filled with MTFs.

This one is particularly funny:

How to organize a Commander night, for any non-MTG players who are curious. Step 1 - open your friends' group chat. Step 2 - does anyone wanna play magic on Saturday?

This one at least has a point - if you try to import an average HP fight scene from one of the books into MTG it's just gonna be two retards slapping each other with counterspell.

And it touches on a truth about Magic, that everything is an overpowered mess because they know their main customers will pay through the nose to have a better chance of "winning."

Until the next set is out.

Also Strixhaven was Magic and D&D's Harry Potter rip off. It was not subtle and the only reason they can cope otherwise is it's not the only delusion they are living with.
