Because THEIR tactic is to shun and alienate anyone who doesn't fall in line perfectly, they can't understand that in the real world most people are relatively moderate and perfectly capable of politely interacting with humans who share belief systems that differ from theirs. And people are rarely Good or Bad, humans are far more layered and complex than that.

Histronics will never get it. It's been interesting as a longtime citizen of the internet to watch this all or nothing value system foment. I know purity tests have always existed in certain circles that require perfect adherence to the group's tenets but I've never seen it on this large and aggressive a scale until troons. Maybe the crusades before it? I wasn't there, can't say.

Lithgow halfway simping for troons is hilarious. He's failed the troon ideological litmus test by his very participation in this JKR-aligned production, automatic persona non grata. Somehow I don't think troons will start sending him death threats, call it a hunch.

Note to John and anyone else wanting to straddle the line: the only way to win is to not play. Just ignore them and do your thing. Playing ignorant like this just invites them to challenge your belief system to make you prove you are not bad. To them, anything less than "JKR must die, troons 4eva!" equals bad. Welcome to the club, buddy. Should have just shut the fuck up.
Maybe the entire reason for the HP reboot is just a way to torpedo the franchise to spite Rowling, because it sure fucking seems that way.

Negro Snape and all the implications this will generate storywise, a literal who executive producer with little credentials, mystery meat Hermione, TV series format, budget of possibly 100mil per episode, Rowling already strategically distancing herself from the project, etc etc. It looks like a recipe for disaster.

Maybe, but so what?

Despite what troons think, she doesnt spend money at a rate that she needs to sell thousands upon thousands of HP books a week or anything.

She is so wealthy that unless the economy in the west tanked so hard that pounds, dollars, Euros and any other North american or European currency became totally worthless, it would be impossible to make her suffer.

Just from interest alone, she would earn more more taking a shit than most of us would hope to see in a year.

Wicked By Gregory Maguire
An issue with Harry Potter that becomes increasingly apparent is its struggle to present deep world injustices to a young audience. Wicked, by Gregory Maguire, does this in a much better way. The book is the source material for the Wicked stage show and movies, and centers on a character who finds herself an outcast targeted by propaganda while fighting a system of injustice.

The book centers on a university for magic while exploring the idea of good and evil. It took risks that Harry Potter did not, by highlighting the damage that can be done through remaining neutral in the face of rising prejudice. While Harry Potter is regularly critiqued now for outdated messaging, Wicked feels just as relevant today as it did when it was released.
If the best thing you have to say about a children's book is that its politics are better, chances are it actually sucks donkey balls. No child is reading Harry Potter or any other book for its amazing political messaging.
Percy Jackson & The Olympians By Rick Riordan
The Percy Jackson book series follows the titular Percy, who learns that he is a demigod and travels to Camp Half-Blood to train with other demigods and protect himself from potential enemies. Like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson belongs in both the regular and magical worlds, but the Percy book series feels more grounded, with some great representation of dyslexia and ADHD.

Both Harry Potter and Percy Jackson & The Olympians are fast-paced and aimed at a younger audience, while being a series that adults can appreciate, too. That said, the Percy books are funnier, much more diverse in race and LGBTQ+ representation, and embrace a modern setting, combining different mythologies with real locations like the Empire State Building and Long Island.
Breaking news! Books written in the 1990s to mid-2000s and that take place in the not very racially diverse place of 90s England don't live up 2026 SJW standards. How many children's books can she name from the 90s that have any gay representation at all?

I've only read the original Percy Jackson series and that was years ago, but I don't recall it being particularly ethnically diverse and LGBTQueery. All of the main characters and most side characters are white and straight (which is probably one of the reasons why they made Anabeth black and Grover Indian in the TV show adaptation). But maybe the writer is also including all of the ghost-written sequel series in her definition of what counts as a Percy Jackson & The Olympians book.

The same with every beloved and established franchise from years ago, they butcher it like troons butcher themself.

Doesn't it frustrate or bother you even just a little knowing you're unlikely to get more of the thing you loved as a kid/young adult, not even necessarily a reboot, but an expansion or spin-off that is actually faithful to the IP?

So many shows, movies and games have been destroyed like SW, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, LOTR, Star Trek, Halo and so many more now including Harry Potter.

The whole Fantastic Beasts was mid as fuck because of poor narrative choices and they wanted to have it connected as one big franchise while it should have been standalone projects, having some zoologist be essential in the defeat of Grindelwald across what would've been 5 movies was insanely retarded and now we'll never see how Dumbledore beat Grindelwald because people tuned out because it all made jackshit sense, that is gay relationship between them aside.

I have a hard time thinking it's just me here that cares for the legacy of good cinema and games and for some things dear to me like LOTR as a standout case it feels like Rings of Power is parading and desecrating the corpse of JRR Tolkien out in the streets, at least JK Rowling can still disassociate, speak for herself, cash in and dunk on angry trannies.

These people have no joy. I was reading the second book to the kids and the writing is really funny. I forgot how funny she was.
You're laughing? There is a literal genocide of vulnerable *trans folx by this witch and you're laughing? You think this is funny?

"Wicked
By Gregory Maguire"

I haven't read it, but I have friends who have, and they said its a pretty dry read. Turns out politics by themselves can be a dull read. Except for the sexually explicit parts (I think an orgy was mentioned, and the sex lives of certain characters, like Elphaba's mom, Fieryo and Elphaba herself were elaborated on, but this is all second hand, so who really knows).

But troons wanting to expose kids to sexually explicit material isn't anything new, so I shouldn't be surprised they try and recommend this to children.

The Rain Wild Chronicles

By Robin Hobb

Look, I love Robin Hobb and The Realm of the Elderlings series but these are the weakest books, AND a terrible place to start, they’re the second to last trilogy??? WHY
Probably because this article is clickbait that some jeet copy-pasted from an AI to farm engagement from troons?

The original was pretty white and I would say "traditional" in how it set the characters up as conventionally attractive stock characters. Percy is your typical go-getter guy that's special and seems to be decent looking. Annabeth is described as an attractive california blonde, except she has grey eyes instead of blue eyes. I don't remember any gay characters, let alone any other romantic relationships. Then in the sequel trilogy the hades kid turned out to be gay, some tertiary characters were gay (like one kid you only knew as the leader of one of the minor god houses that got 2 lines before got a boyfriend) and the leader of the roman camp is lesbian. But even then, the new main characters are a classic jock guy and a super attractive girl (since she's the daughter of aphrodite) and I think both are white.

I can't recall details, but I do vaguely remember that over time more characters were hispanic/black/native. Almost every roman non-main character was some kind of mutt. Overall it felt like he was pandering. The type of "do better, be better, add niggers" LGBT ally mindset.

You’re correct. Gregory Macguire’s Wicked is really bizarre and an absolute slog of a read with the heavy-handed way he spergs about fantasy world politics. It’s also not remotely for children, the musical is an extremely Disney-fied version that has nothing but the basic premise in common. It’s got lots of violence, weird fetish shit like the author having a fascination with piss, and an absolutely unnecessary amount of sexual degeneracy. Everything from adultery to rape to straight up beastiality in some underground sex show.

I can see why troons would be in favor of introducing it to children.
