Well there's always the Drugstore Cowboy method of just having a gang and jacking drugstores for their opioids. Ronnie looked a little fat for that, though.

Considering that Ronnie was probably using in the 80's or so, opioids were found unsecured in many more places than now. Military quartermasters and medics, veterinary workers, oral surgery workers, even hospital emergency room workers could get their hands on supply. Supply and demand.

Daddy Ronnie was not the type to overcome his addiction from before Ralph was born. He abused it long after the Pig was born, and most likely was the last thing he did sitting on his final melting place weeks before somebody thought to check on him.
