It would be hilarious to see him fling word-salad at people. I kinda hope that happens.
...yeah, it kinda would, but just as long as we get some variety outta the guy. Part of me senses that we'll get his spiel about...about...*checks the posts again* ...actually, I dunno exactly WHAT his spiels would be about. Self-importance for being a solo dev making whatever the hell Bob's Game is actually supposed to be, yes, but after that, the Messiah complex kicks in and things go weeeeeird.

... So how long until Bobbo does a vanity search on himself and drops in on this thread?

I would not be surprised if he did a search on himself and stumbled upon this site. Even more so if he decides to pull a GK/WoggleBugLover/Mylar/Whatever lolcow and come onto this thread to justify himself.

If anyone tries to get him to come here I'm going to be pissed.

"bob's game" - stage 80 - "The Meeting"

Wow. Just ... wow. When you set up a straw man villain who comes across as rational, level-headed, and practical compared to your self-insert hero, you really need to reconsider the presentation your argument.
And he accuses companies like Nintendo of only caring about money and not wanting to release quality products to the masses because it doesn't matter in the end how good the game is.
So you'd have to wonder....if he doesn't care about money and he thinks everyone should play his game then why doesn't he just release his game over the internet for free?

Probably because he just wants to release it on the DS back when that handheld gaming device was relevant and apparently because Robert said he hardcoded it for DS or something like that.

So, what's this game even about?

So, what's this game even about?

From what I understand, it might just be his life and how he got the g- I'm sorry, HIS game published and the like in video game format or something else painfully mundane and/or self-centered.

If anyone tries to get him to come here I'm going to be pissed.

Yeah, if that happens we'll hear no end of it.

I think it's pretty simple. At heart it seems like he isn't so much in love with the idea of creating a game so much as he's infatuated with the idea of being popular for making a video game, especially if he doesn't have to share it with anybody. How he gets there and what kind of game he creates appears to be inconsequential at that point, just as long as he can somehow convince people it's the best thing since bread period and he's put in the pantheon of important gaming people.

It's different when your intent is to make a game as opposed to making yourself famous making a game.
Whoops, you did it now. Loquacious rambling ahead:

This is an astute observation, and something you see within a number of lolcows time and time again. CWC, David Gonterman, Jay Geis, and Bob - Four weird, maladjusted guys who are constantly demanding that the world bestow fame and fortune upon them for their works, while never really focusing on the development of those works. None of these people - none of them - ever submitted themselves to the hard work and discipline it would take to learn their craft and better their output. Not a single one of them had ever been an intern at a publishing company, video game studio, or animation studio. None of the four of them ever sought any kind of formal training for what they wanted to do. When their work was done, and they put it out into the world for all to see, they were heavily criticized for how poor the quality of the product was.
Naturally, these guys were all arrogant and immature, and would react to such criticism like angry children.

But you know what never happened? The product never got better. Chris's work is still juvenile crap, as is Gonterman's, as well as Geis's. Pelloni keeps going on about his amazing, mindbreaking game as if it will pull the player beyond the bounds of mere entertainment, and begin to warp the bounds of reality itself, which is a pretty hefty claim to make about a game that, practically speaking, doesn't exist. In the video, he says "bob's game" is "obviously" a good game, but he doesn't provide so much as a semi-positive quote from a friend to back it up. Say what you will about Sonichu, Myth of the Legendary Warrior, or Piasa Bird, at least they were finished and published.

The reason for this, I imagine, is rather simple. A common thread woven throughout all these productions - other than they're all stinkburgers - is that almost every one of them, without fail, is centered on the author. Jay, Bob, David, and Chris each feature themselves in their own stories, each depicting himself as the triumphant, incredibly overpowered underdog, battling or overcoming aspects of real life that they were never able to challenge in Real Life. The point of their products were never to offer the reader/player something to enjoy, but to advertise themselves and their struggles, to sell the audience on the author's awesomeness while simultaneously fishing for pity. The products never improved (or came into existence) because the products themselves were secondary concerns, mere vessels by which the inestimable importance of the life and perspectives of the authors themselves were to be delivered. Awesome is, was, and shall ever be. There's no need to improve it.

So, what's this game even about?

It's about Bob's ego, which was doubtlessly pretty hurtin', given his little message at the end of this:

Given the part where he appears after his "bob's game" exposition, saying it's just some viral ad, one wouldn't be surprised if it was really some way of him just trying to say he was just trolling.

Thing is, even if Robert is just trolling, it really doesn't change anything. He still doesn't have a game, he's still not showing any level of talent that warrants the attention he's sought. As a sincere LOLcow, Robert is a douchebag. As a troll... Robert would still be a douchebag.

At least if Chris or Jace were revealed to be trolling, we'd all have to admit we'd been had. We all believed them to be the idiots they present themselves to be. Robert... Has nothing to show for himself if this is a sham.

All he did had to show for "bob's game" was some demo. Even then, that demo was rather forgetful. I don't even know if the batteries are mean't to be found.

If he claims that, I expect it'll be as a final ditch, to try to say as one last way out that "h-hey, I'm trying to be FUNNY! It was all an act! I'm not the greatest game developer of all time, I'm the greatest TROLL of all time!

...g-guys? Where are you all going?"

At least twice, Bob has tried to advertise his kickstarter on /v/. Both times, the thread was deleted as soon as Bob's goofy exploits were posted by other people. I wish I had some hilarious screencaps or posts saved from this, but alas, I am empty handed. From what I gathered from both his blogposts and his posts on 4chan, however, he seems to have a CWC-esque mindset about 'trolls', believing that his subtle genius is able to manipulate all the drooling cretins who populate that site by acting like a moronic /b/tard spamming memes from 2008. Both of his posts listed how epic it would be to fund his kickstarter, and how the 'lulz' generated by the content would be well worth the cash.

It really is ridiculous how he manages to both be incredibly arrogant and incredibly self loathing.

So what happened to the kickstarter that his parents had to bail him out of? Did that well run dry?

Damn, he deleted the wall of text biography/creepy confessions/video game messiah message that was up on his site for so long. I wish I had saved the whole thing.

Jesus Christ, it's like when Chris said he cultivated the "first generation" of Autistic people.

"bob's game" is the vehicle for a prophecy, written by a "self taught" "genius" "prophet." It carries within it a message that will revolutionize society and change the world. It is the beginning of a new era for mankind.
Someone has a bad case of the Fishies.

Remember his disclaimer in the Kickstarter: "There is no guarantee that the project will ever be truly 100% complete, but I can release something tangible and playable right away and continue updating it indefinitely." It'd actually be nice to see the game come out just for the sake of seeing how terrible it would be but given his money troubles and weird escapades, it's probably never going to see the light of day. People may have given him $10,000 for nothing more than some screen shots and a short demo.

Given he's looking for a job, I'm wondering if he wants his employers to ignore Google results.
