Way way back when I saw this game, I must have still been hanging on the first Internet community I ever joined (this being over 10 years ago), I thought it was pretty impressive (I remember how he wanted it on the DS after moving from the GBA), but now that I'm older and have played some real games since then, and he seems like he doesn't understand what makes games fun. There's no story, which is absolutely fundamental to a modern RPG...and all the "fleshed-out NPCs" are like "the convenience store worker who hates his job but never tries anything beyond it" is just a trait, there's not even any name attached to it. If they were as deep as he claims they were, then we would know their desires, goals, relationships, etc.

There's probably a good reason beyond his raging ecomania why this was never released...because it sucked!

In addition, by Bob's abuse of terms like "16-bit", it's easy to draw the conclusion that he doesn't really understand systems architecture as well as he should.

Update: So bob has released his game on Steam. Surprisingly, he was smart enough not to make "made by one person!!!111eleven" the primary selling feature.

He actually finished it?

Seems like it's only the puzzle game, not the full "Robert Pelloni's Adult Chronicles" which is what anyone reading this thread is probably hoping for.
Indeed. (ND'ed?) The RPG that Robert puffed up for nearly a decade of his life was quietly shelved. What was released was a nondescript Tetris variant with the same name.

Update: So I went to check out what Bob has been up to, and what is on his homepage?

So, says I, why does his game's main page link to Wikipedia, of all places? So I take a look:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bob's_Game&direction=prev&oldid=713042467

Yep, Bob is apparently so assblasted that his wiki page isn't super complimentary that he not only tries to edit it, he alerts people to the fact that he needs to do this. Streisand, anyone?

Update 2: Guise, I think we all need to do some serious soul-searching. I may even call a special meeting with Null and CatParty to reconsider the direction this site has taken. It seems that one of our users, @camptown races , is in fact, a CONNOISEUR of lolcow forums, and in his most expert opinion, has disapproved of ours. As this is the only thread in which he has ever found worthy of posting in, it only seemed logical to bring this matter up here. Hopefully, the "Bob" thread can be ground zero for the reinvigoration of a newer, better, Kiwi Farms.

Daniel Ibbertson has made a video about the strangest KickStarter ever created and it's Bob's Game:

Do you suppose @camptown races has an opinion on the matter?

If he does, I have something I would like to say to him...

Hi Bob. I would like to start by saying I had heard about you and your game years ago and laughing about all your escapades and your ego. There is really only one thing I would like to address, and it’s your obsession and selling point of, “made by one person!”

I would like to compare you to prequel era George Lucas. You see, George gained a huge amount of notereity and fame from his original trilogy of Star Wars, and it is still considered to be one of the best film trilogies to have ever existed. However, on the other side of the coin, his prequel trilogy is often considered to be the WORST to have ever existed. Let me tell you why.

You see, George needed to have FULL CREATIVE CONTROL over the prequels. George is a very boring person and isn’t very creative, yet he likes to tout that he’s the creator of Star Wars. He made it dontcha know! The reason the original trilogy was so beloved was because it was a COLLABORATION, it wasn’t solely dependent on one person. This is why it’s so rare to see very many good independently made games by one person; there’s nobody to bounce ideas off of, there’s nobody with a different set of strengths to help in areas where you are lacking, and there’s nobody to reel you in when you start obsessing over something and end up wasting large chunks of time trying to constantly refine and tweak what already exists. 15k+ hours of development time is meaningless if you’re not making any substantial progress. Or any kind of progress in general. Some of the best games on the market that were independently developed at least had a few other people responsible for it. Games like Cave Story are rare because people with a lot of different talents like Pixel are rare. Fuck, even though it’s widely beloved by millions, Cave Story still has one of the most underwhelming plots ever written, but the gameplay, graphics and style make up for it.

Don’t be afraid to work with other people do. Don’t be like George Lucas today, a man obsessed with special effects and making something as flashy and striking as humanly possible. Be like George Lucas way back when, a guy who knew that something with tons of special effects but no substance is boring. Just my two cents after all.

Also, you don’t know how to dress bro, lol. You still look like the last movie you saw was The Matrix and your favorite game is Shadowrun.

Bob's Game got added to the top 5 Weirdest KickScammer List and I'm not shocked the guy who made Bob's Game is a mental case but to see him have a KiwiFarms thread made for him with fewer pages about him compare to say someone like DSPGaming with over 9000 pages is really depressing, to say the least. Honestly, maybe it's a good thing Coronavirus fucked him over as I have not heard any news of him in 2020 which that could have forced him to leave and just avoid humans that have said virus. He should be looked into more just like Chris Chan about his life and why he is like this. :/
