Rio Olympics 2016 - Where the city runs green with bribery money and pool water

If you thought you didn't want to live on this planet due to the last few weeks, the hatred looks like it's about to get even worse for you. Why? The Summer Olympics in Rio are about to be underway, of course. With the political turmoil and corruption going on in Brazil right now, what could possibly go wrong?

Oh, boy, this could get interesting. The Olympic Village has been so well-constructed that the toilets are often blocked, wiring is exposed and water leaks are commonplace. The Australian Olympic teams and Hope Solo are among people that are refusing to go anywhere near there for fear of their health and safety.

The part you need to know about is how the mayor of Rio responded. With no sense of irony whatsover, he offered them a kangaroo to make them feel more at home at the Village. Because a kangaroo is going to fix the plumbing and electrical issues the place has.

This may or may not be a complete and utter shitshow, but it's something to definitely keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

So this thing where they're holding the other US guys for "questioning".

Is this "questioning" or is this "questioning"?

Lochte is already out of the country, so I highly doubt he will return because a police force that has been proven corrupt wants him to return, unless the IOC forcibly twists America's arm. So I'm gonna say "questioning".

Wow.
If I was an olympian I'd dip out of there yesterday.

What happened?

I heard on local news something about Americans say they got robbed by fake cops, real cops say Americans got into a fight with some security guys and Americans are bullshitting.
American 1 is back in USA, Americans 2-4 are now pulled from flights out of country and are under "questioning".
How are they sure they were fake? Rio isn't exactly known for being good at this kind of shit.

OH it was great. The incredibly conservative Prime Minister of Japan dressing up like Mario and riding a green tube to Rio and derobe? Great.

Loved the cameo appearances by Tsubasa, Pac Man, Doraemon, and Hello Kitty.

With the exception of Brazil possibly affecting Renaud Lavillenie's chance for Gold, it's getting annoying hearing a lot of people who don't really follow sports claim this is the worst Olympics. It's not about the shitty ceremony or a fucking cat getting shot -- it's about the games. The only thing "negative" about it is some of our greatest US athletes are too old now (and Madeline Dirado retiring after her first Olympics like a bitch).

Worst olympics if any

The games, if anything, have been rather uneventful, from a drama standpoint. Not too many surprises, excluding the US Women's Soccer team not medaling at all. The drama has really occurred with everything outside of the Games themselves, what with the green swimming pools, the hosts losing the keys to an Olympic stadium and the robberies of Olympians (and the fabricated ones as well).

I think going the entire Olympics without a kidnapping makes this a highly successful event for Brazil. It could have and probably should have been so much worse.
I'm willing to bet the government is paying off the mafia to keep them calm. They should have paid a bit more though so they'd take care of the street thugs, too.

That's the one, I couldn't believe what I was seeing she dwarfed those women (I use she because from what I've read she's a hermaphrodite and so obviously can't help the way she looks ) but my question would be, isn't it more unfair to ALL the other girls then unfair to this lets be honest freak of nature, I feel for her in a way but goddamn that shit ain't fair. If anyone could post a pic, especially of her like next to the other competitors for reference I'd appreciate it I can't on my phone for some reason

Even thay doesn't do it justice theres one where they are all running in a pack and she is head and shoulders above everyone lol

Wait the New York Times article I just skimmed says she has no ovaries and nearly three times the recorded testosterone of her competitors. I'm a pretty big defender of LBGT rights but this person should not be competing with women.
