If you thought you didn't want to live on this planet due to the last few weeks, the hatred looks like it's about to get even worse for you. Why? The Summer Olympics in Rio are about to be underway, of course. With the political turmoil and corruption going on in Brazil right now, what could possibly go wrong?

Oh, boy, this could get interesting. The Olympic Village has been so well-constructed that the toilets are often blocked, wiring is exposed and water leaks are commonplace. The Australian Olympic teams and Hope Solo are among people that are refusing to go anywhere near there for fear of their health and safety.

The part you need to know about is how the mayor of Rio responded. With no sense of irony whatsover, he offered them a kangaroo to make them feel more at home at the Village. Because a kangaroo is going to fix the plumbing and electrical issues the place has.

This may or may not be a complete and utter shitshow, but it's something to definitely keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

What can I say?
Rio was the worse city they could choose to host this complete scam designed to steal money from important projects and to try to win elections, sadly for the worker's party it backfired in spectacular way since their retarded president is currently impeached and all but a few comunist parties have abandoned them.
This a pure scam, all buildings were built just to maximize profit due to shitty construction materials and huge price tags with a significant % of the profits being embezzled by the politicians.
However I must say everyone cried the world cup would be shit and nothing serious happened.
Also zyka on my opinion is overrated, you should focus on the crime rate and the water pollution if your worried you gonna be killed.
25k soldiers and a premier elite anti air craft battery and even a nuclear warfare battalion will be present, just don't go to the slums and the chances of you actually being mugged or killed will be minimal.
In April the same Australian athletes praised the village, either they were lied to in a fake apartment projection or the apartment had materials stolen by the worker's,whichever is worse is up to you.

oh and by the way expect multiple happenings because there are tons of Al Qaeda, Hezbollah and ISIS members in South America in multiple countries with strong networks tied in with cartels and the drug trade and you know for sure they won't miss their opportunity to stir shit up. Especially considering Brazilian "security"

lol there's already been one New Zealand athlete who was robbed at gunpoint by cops who forced him to withdraw money from an ATM on top of it

There will be murdered athletes before its over

shitstorm it "could" be

:story: x 1000

I say "could" because there is the very miniscule potential that it could actually go off without a hitch.

There's probably a better chance of Revolution 60 and Gen Zed coming out in that timeframe.

Then again, they said the same thing about Sochi, but that was more due to construction issues and delays than massive concerns for health and well-being.

There's a higher chance of Revolution 62 coming out in that timeframe and being GOTY material than this shitshow going off without a hitch

No one will be killed, the drug lords know it's bad for business.
Back in June someone stole a tv crew container,i got returned in 24 hrs after they found it was from the Olympics.
The problem is the tourists are complete naïve,they think everyone I. Brazil is "warm and friendly" which is a stereotype the media and goverment here try to push it for helping tourism people actually believe that and they think they can be careless on the streets.
Also the media here are censoring all bad news about the Olympics, classy

I don't know, seeing those shit on international news is frankly embarrassing, I know, its the goverment fault, especially the rio municipal government, but fuck, people doesn't care if this shitty goverment fucks the Olympics, it will be somehow my fault too, just because I'm Brazilian, just ask to a Iranian or Iraqi if their nationality reduced their chances of employment or caused some sort of prejudice against them

Brazilian here...

AN/ALR-56 is completely right about the drug lords' behavior. They know it's bad for business, and just like the legitimate businesses, they also want some of that foreign money, so don't expect gang wars spilling out of the favelas. Robberies and kidnappings, however, are a whole different ballgame.

And even with the larger media trying to sweep the dirt under the carpet, the world knows things have really been escalating as of late (examples: the situation with the Australian athletes, the Japanese atheletes found their bathroom clogged as fuck, our state funded colleges and hospitals are terribly underfunded due to the current administration fucking up, and so on).

This is going to be a disaster.

The first Olympics where trannies can compete with women is the same one where the Zika virus is threatening bio females.

I think someone at BBC is taking the piss out Rio's attempts to calmn the Aussies.

The fucking thumbnail image.

Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes had responded to Australian criticism by saying the village is "more beautiful" than Sydney's for the 2000 Games and that he was about to put "a kangaroo jumping outside" to "make them feel at home".

Lol and he's trash talking the Aussies who complained too passive aggressively.
