Reduce raid sizes, give a +1 to happiness, set colony death and enemy death on downed to 0.8 so its not every time, disable unwavering prisoners. etc whatever, it's your game, the way default rimworld plays with killboxes, killzones is frankly embaressing and I got bored of that quickly after my first two full runs. Imagine playing diablo but every time a unique or good rare dropped you had to trash it because oh no the game will get hard. Please, wealth management sucks its the oblivion/skyim level scaling of difficulty there's a better middleground.
I have once read a story about an interesting archeological discovery. A viking longship, complete with dead Vikings, found somewhere in iirc Norther Europe, but at the bottom of a lake, quite far away from the sea. Loads of steel and other valuables buried alongside it, but all of them completely trashed: swords broken into pieces, the longship itself just wrecked, not scrapped or anything like that. And a village nearby.
The best theory the archeologists had is that the villagers got lucky (or prepared well) and beat the vikings. And then proceeded to hide all evidence of their victory out of fear of reprisal or further raids.

I'm with you on all of your points, the whole "wealth management" thing you need to do just reminds me of that story every time.

Again, zzts happen when anything electronic is exposed to rain. Put your devices under roofs and only use hidden cables and you’ll never get them. Trust me.

Electronics getting rained on will cause short circuits, but they will also happen spontaneously to anything with power even if you're under a mountain in the desert.

I only use hidden cables and keep my electronics indoor and haven’t had a zzztt in I think dozens of hours. They don’t happen if you keep your electronics indoors and use hidden cables.

Yeah Zzzts used to be real annoying because hidden conduits didn't exist then. So you either mod it out or eat shit whenever it proced then. Nowadays you just pay the extra steel to install hidden conduits and forget it even exists.

I am 99% sure they can still happen randomly if the game just decides you get to eat shit no matter how carefully you lay your cables.

Is there such a thing as a RimWorld race or xenotype mod that isn't furfag fanservice?
This has to be the most stupid one yet, even more than the kemonomimi.

I have put in some 200 hours into this fucking game and never beaten it
i got 500 something hours into this and havent beaten it, i'll either get fucked up early or i'll do too well but discover some new feature or tech i wish i implemented earlier and restart, but i got a good feeling about this run

this is my current ship, i pretty much only ever do the gravship start, randy random, default normal adventure time difficulty, no messing with sliders, i like roaming around, even before i found out about about that start i was like fast tracking it to horses just so i could roam around raiding. i change my starting crew from baseliners to hussars so we are jacked up super soldiers flying around in a ufo. a each hussar starts with like 5-7 go juice so you gotta try to find a source early on or you start dying but its really easy to engage in early game combat and get geared up.

i usually make my own religion, but i want to try the fluid one that forms over time, i have too many people on this run, usually i just have a slave for plants to cut wood and grow and harvest psychoid and cleaning, a elderly wise psychic man to be like my mentat and like 4 or 5 soldier guys and a highmate sex slave. i like doing slaves, i didnt really want to do the mechinator thing but i heard if you kill the mechive you are locked out of that, so i went through the mechinator bosses and learned all that technology and made a war queen, im not gonna make a army or robots but i'll make that big one, so i guess techinically i've beaten one game ending? i could probably kill the mechive now, after i kill the mechive im going to engage with the anamoly content, probably build a containtment room in that open spot above the engine room

oh yea i tamed a megavole and a colossus toad and they never seem to create animal filth in the ship and are pretty useful, i dont know if my slaves are just really good at cleaning or what, i never really cared about having animals on a ship before but those ones might be winners for ship runs

Does anyone else always tap out after getting to 200k wealth? The midgame always becomes such a slog for me.

This is realistic, unfortunately. Imagine the psych issues you get from having a Surrogate Mechanoid in your childhood.

I'm assuming the person cleaning in the corner is a slave and not a high status parent with confused priorities...
The comment section is full of reports saying this minor utility is accidentally a masterpiece joke mod at the installer's expense.

It's like customer reviews, I can just imagine the Mech Hivemind sorting through complaints to roll out a new update so their robo nanny remembers to feed the babies and to let them sleep.

This is the worst style mod. It changes basically nothing, there's no way to tell pawns dressed in this style apart from normal pawns except with outside context. The artist just redrew vanilla assets from memory and called it a new style. I'm going to ask you, for a moment, to imagine a new style mod.
You started by picking a theme, or some other gimmick, something that does set it aside from the regular sprites that you see in the game. That mod would be a better one than "Sophian Style" because it will create pawns, or at least buildings, that are different from the ones that we saw before. It doesn't matter if it were a shitpost or that you don't have artistic skills, because you came up with something instead of this.

It still looks like a really bad redraw too, the only actually good one is the scarecrow.

It is a good sprite. It's a simple object that gives context to any scene that would include it. Normal sprites have to fit tribals as much as other pawns. This is better for most other origins and especially for the imperial lackeys this style was designed for. Oscar should have assigned it to Techists or another style like that.
