They’re reportedly making a Kingdom Come movie which might boost his public recognition.

Or maybe I’m just being biased since it’s one of the few superhero stories I like.

But I agree with you and Slimy Time about comic books being way more niche than anime, especially when it comes to Dragonball Z which is one of the popular anime shows of all time.

Kingdom Come is never going to happen as a movie. It's been a commonly rumored fodder for the direct to video movie line for ages, but it is pretty much impossible to adapt given it's length and size, Ross' art stye, and the fear of fan reaction over changes (removing characters out of favor with DC top brass, replacing the book's legacy characters with DC approved replacement kids/legacy brats from 'ships that the editorial brats are currently pushing) with others, undoing some of the more controversial choices/designs for Flash and Green Lantern in the book).

But also, Kingdom Come will never be made into a live action film because of the above plus the costs to make something as ambitious as Kingdom Come, especially since it holds the blame for a lot of the worse elements of the Snyder films that DC is currently running away from.

A lot of his characters and plotlines showed up in the WB TV shows. Especially Flash. But nothing that anybody is going to hunt down to discover who's getting 35 cents worth of creator credit.

They don't use a lot of his stuff. Remember, Waid wrote Wally West and the only thing they really have used are the Speed Force. They use more of the Geoff Johns run, along with heavily stealing from Gerry Conway's Firestorm (which has been plundered wholesale by both Flash and Arrow writers). And the show runners probably don't want to touch the Waid run if they wanted to, especially since Waid was the guy who created the meme of Barry Allen being an evil, selfish bastard who is so pissy that he's been forgotten, that he would kill everyone on Earth if he could get away with as punishment for them treating Wally as being the superior Flash*.

*Granted it was an amnesiac Reverse Flash that believed he WAS Barry Allen at the time, that said the above; but Waid has openly bragged that wrote those lines as a fuck you to Barry Allen fans who at the time, were still waiting for DC to bring Barry back. So he wrote an arc where "Barry" came back and tried to kill Wally out of jealousy, crippled the Golden Age Flash, and threatened to kill thousands out of butt-hurt to hammer home the idea that he felt that Wally was better and that fans complaining about Barry being dead were monsters. Which stuck with several generations of fans (even Geoff Johns) with regards to seeing Barry, if he ever came back, as a villain in waiting would would reek unspeakable horror like he ultimately did in Flashpoint, to punish the DC Universe and Wally West in particular, for forgetting about him and treating Wally as his superior.

A few more documents dropped, looks like we are starting to move from personal jurisdiction to the TCPA. Nothing unexpected or exciting here.

First Meyer amended the complaint to specifically mention defamation in Texas (page 9):

Waid asked for and received an extension to the deadline to file a TCPA, 14 days after the ruling on personal jurisdiction. The motion has the amusing effect of arguing against itself. On the one hand they argue that he is not a Texas citizen and the courts lack personal jurisdiction. On the other hand he argues that he has protections under the TCPA. I understand the law here, but it's funny to see both arguments in the same filing.

What happened to Zaid? I don't remember seeing his signature on any filings. The lack of superlawers in this case is leaving it dull and well argued. If this continues I'm worried the parties will settle their differences out of court like adults.

my guess for the absence of Zaid is the local lawyers telling him to stay far away from the case given his past performances

Don't worry mate, no risk of that happening because Waid is physically incapable of acting as an adult. He'll drag his feet all the way to the gallows and throw a tantrum with his last breath. I can see this suit going well into 2020 and even 2021 with appeals unless Marvel or an employer(?) forces him to stop his shit.

First amended motion to dismiss. Imagine my surprise it still sounds like the first draft of a TCPA motion.

Well, Waid's MTD the First Amended Complaint hit PACER.

43 Aug 7, 2019 Dismiss

Probably barely worth reading. My guess is they just recycled the original argument. It's frivolous as hell and I hope they file for Rule 11 sanctions.

Holy shit, just fucking start already! How much longer are they going to stall?

King Baby Waid knows he is going to get his ass handed to him, so he's stalling as long as he can in hopes that Zack runs out of money and drops the suit. Then he can crow on Twitter about how he "beat the charges fair and square" and "justice was served".

I know that Zack is a mega Dad-joke doofus, but he has demonstrated through two combat tours and the hellscape of starting/running his own business that he has a lot of drive and willpower. Waid is going to run out of options way before a single bead of sweat even shows on Zack's brow. Waid better be thanking the Almighty that we have the courts to sort this out, or else Zack would have fed him his teeth long ago.

This is a legal proceeding. They take time. It's not like on television.
Everyone knows this, what you don't seem to realize is that everything done by Weid's legal team has been stalling tactics meant to drag this out even by normal legal procedure time.

As long as Manchild Waid is still retarded and malicious enough to try and bleed Yaboi to death in a money war. He's the sad type of rabid animal, which frothes and can't walk due to the disease eating the brain, pissing themselves in madness and the desire to hate.

He will keep this up until his ruination, which is a metaphoric shotgun to the head.

The parties agreed to put it off. Frankly, I disagree with the choice of Meyer's counsel to agree to put it off again. This bullshit has to end.

oth, at the very least the TCPA has relatively hard deadlines attached to it so its not like they can play patty cake with it for an entire fucking year like this jurisdiction slapfight. unless they appeal everything
