I have little doubts that Waid won’t drag this out as long as he physically can. He knows he’s fucked if they do discovery on ALL communications regarding YaBoi, just look at all the gems just jurisdictional discovery uncovered. Just have to patient.

I think it's more likely than not that they are very much involved at a deep level. And I still say that before all the comics/weebwar shit is over, there will be RICO because a lot of this is very much organized and criminal. And RICO does not require mafia for use.

I always find this to be a good summary of how RICO applies to legal cases.

It's not that long, especially when there was discovery on the motion. And it was actually the plaintiff who requested discovery.

Which was a spectacular own goal. Dragging Waid into deposition so early before they could even argue TCPA really put the brakes on the strategy Waid's lawyers seemed to have been trying to formulate. I genuinely wonder if Waid straight up lied to them about his ties to Texas.

I'm pretty sure he did. Any lawyer, even a bad one, would know that this perjured filing would literally instantly blow up in their face. It was so clearly a terrible idea that even if I assume the absolute worst about Mark Zaid (which I generally do), and even if he is actually in charge of the entire case (which I doubt), it makes no sense at all.

The only way this makes sense is if Waid lied to them, too.

It's never RICO. It's more likely to be lupus on House.

If there's hope for comics, it lies in the indies. Simple as, it's why people buy manga because it's not calling the reader a bad person for being who they are.

If you wanna make things better, buy indie. I've read many great indies, where they tell great stories and DON'T profess how much they despise their audience and the source material. You can tell when a work doesn't respect their readers.
It's all I ever read. I'd buy older comics again but with the expected comics crash to happen in the next few years there's no reason to do so right now. I'm just going to save up and weight and when people are offloading their wares I'll scoop them up at pennies on the dollar

It IS. One of Waid's ex's was quoted talking {bullying} a small indie shop YEARS AGO about firing one of the owners when the store was bought. She said Mark has millions and will drag you around court for as long as it takes. He actually thinks he'll outlast this, if not that he's actually totally innocent
If Waid had millions he wouldn't be begging for money. He's no Todd McFarlane.

I think that you are forgetting that SJWs have no sense of shame and consider victimhood morally paramount. Anyone with a working sense of shame wouldn't be able to beg for money from poor people while being worth millions, but Waid has no conscience. As far as he and the other SJWs are concerned, he is being victimized by Nazis, therefore he deserves money.

Waid most likely is one of those "rich on paper, not in actual liquid assets he can readily access" kind of wealthy. Waid is famous for his legendary nerd memorabilia/toy collection he owns, which is where all of his money is tied up in. IE he has assets that are worth millions, but he doesn't outright have millions in his bank account or stashed away under his mattress or in hiding spots he can raid.

It's one of the reasons WHY Waid is e-begging like he is. Fucker DESPERATELY doesn't want to have to sell his nerd swag or toy collection to pay for his lawyer or pay the judgement to Richard. That would kill him, more than being found liable, if he had to sell his beloved nerd memorabilia or action figures to pay Richard what the court demands he pay Richard.

Unless his comics were CGC and his toys were still carded he won't get anything for them. Though there is a CGC for carded toys which can increase the value by 25-75%.

Waid has a huge collection of super rare shit, toys both boxed and loose and a lot of his loose shit is rare as fuck and goes for huge amounts of money out of the package. Not to mention original art, TON of original authentic movie props, a rather substantial comic collection going back as far as the golden age.

What are the chances he'll hide his nerd shit with a friend and pretend he lost it all in a tragic boating accident?

So basically he's a huge fucking manbaby on the level of what Chris-Chan would be if he had millions of dollars.

Start Paying attention now. Tons of good condition readable Silver Age 60’s 70’s And 80’s stuff is starting to flood comic shops and be sold for prices less than the modern $4.95 for the new SJW crap. Sadly the cause for the sudden glut of new stuff is “estate sales”. The original collectors having started to depart this mortal coil.

Ifyouwant to help your LCS go in and buy some of the Silver Age stuff. I think they get better margins on it anyway.

Is it too much to hope for an estate sale with Mark Waid's hoard of comics and plastic crap?

I'm not a comic fan, so I have no idea how much his shit is worth.

When you've been working in the comics industry for decades, you have access to all kinds of one-of-a-kind, behind-the-scenes shit like original art, toy prototypes, and so on. You can get your shit autographed by your industry pals with no problem, too. Waid is a veritable nerd-Fafnir, a malignant dwarf whose greed and wickedness turned him into a nerd-dragon crouching atop a hoard of nerd-treasures. The only way he isn't worth millions is if he has a hard drug habit that no one knows about, and/or he regularly destroys his toys in fits of manbaby rage.

Then let Richard Meyer be our Siegfried.
