It's that I specifically want a physical copy, I've had the ISO since the early 2000's.
I got 1 on ebay, and that was a shitshow. Seller wanted more money AFTER the sale, and ebay had to tell him to fuck off. Got 2 at Goodwill, just need 3 for PC and I'm done collecting RE.

Well, maybe darkside chronicles on wii. copies went down from $53 to $35.

Are you looking for the original release or would the 2006 xplosiv one be fine? I see several on eBay.

I was under the impression that xplosiv was the european release that omitted the mercenaries mode.

I have no idea, I didn't even know the OG had a PC release until tonight because I've only played it on console.

OG RE3 is my favorite out of the older games, I don't feel the RE3 remake did it justice with how much stuff was cut; the gas station event was fun, the clocktower event is iconic and a proper segue to switch from Jill to Carlos, and there's this boss that appears twice that is somehow absent from Remake entirely, WHERE THE FUCK IS THE WORM BOSS?! It literally busts up the ground under you, you could've put it damn near anywhere, but we don't even get earthquakes. I do like that they made Nikolai more of an asshole though. It also doesn't help that RE2R had all the new side story stuff on top of the Hunk and various Tofus, where RE3R couldn't even bother to have its Mercenaries / Rescue game.

The problem with RE4R coming off as more lifeless is, it was the first game in the series that did the over the shoulder view and what-not. You're not getting a game that had to be entirely redesigned to be in the new camera angle and new gameplay methodology, you're just getting a newer glossier version of a game from 2003 (or whenever it was). And I feel the same way about Dead Space 1 and it's remake, sure things are slightly different, but you're still playing a game that was 80%+ completed 15+ years ago. My only real complaints for RE4R are mostly the script changes, Salazar not having his hat, and Lily Gau's bored ass tone. I'm not saying dinner and a zombie outbreak are the same thing; but if I had a date, and my date was enthusiastic about it as much as Ada was in her job, I'd split the check and fucking leave.
I really have no fucking idea how Lily Gau's voice lines actually made it into the game, hands down some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard in almost anything and I would almost guarantee it was due to this retarded shit about "we can't have white people doing an Asian lady's voice that's racist" shit even though Ada's voice was never even a caricature or anything one might consider remotely offensive when people were still relatively sensible. Same shit that made them change Cleveland's voice actor on Family Guy and quite a few other pieces of media. Seriously, she read her lines with all of the enthusiasm of a driver's ed teacher listing off all of the stop signs you rolled through during your exam. No clue how the fuck nobody at Capcom heard that awful performance and found someone else to do it. The lady who did her voice in the RE2 remake was leagues better but unfortunately she is huwhite.

to add on to how much of a mess that netflix show was, i read that they had Jill and Wesker dating. i found this out yesterday and i haven't been able to stop thinking about it so i came to inflict this knowledge on others.

I saw a video that put forward the idea that RE4Make is more like RE4:Revelations. His argument was that it had inherited more from the Revelations gameplay than from 4 itself.
Mind posting it? I don't agree with that but I'm curious what they have to say. I always saw 4,5,6,rev1,rev2 and mercs3d to be their own series within Resident evil. Their core gameplay revolves around guns being used for hitstun so you can follow up with melee and while they all approach this idea in unique ways they have similar appeals.

Sure rev1 tried to be creative making enemy weak points almost anything but the head or sometimes offering head for dmg and limbs for stun for a good dynamic choice, rev2 focused on coop setups to weaken enemies, and 6 was more focused on extended combos on fewer targets to deplete their stamina, enabling a finisher rather than the large scale crowd control of 4. Even 5 and 3D which mostly copied 4 with a few more melee options is more about dmg breakpoints to offer more link between gunplay and melee. But they all kinda play the same regardless, with each having different strengths and weaknesses.

so can we all agree the RE4 remake was a waste of time and added nothing new or interesting too the overall lore?
I dont even like the story changes in the 2 remake and theyre very minor, the changes in 4 are insulting. Again one of the greatest games of all time, its been released on every platform since its original release. There shouldve been more reverence to the original rather than assuming they were fixing it. Hell they shouldn't have remade it, it should've been cv, make steve likable and that transformation could've actually had emotional impact.

Its also the most baffling remake when village had just copied the entire structure of 4's progression while also introducing ideas from the hook man demos. (witches being weak to windows/an entire section dedicated to hallucinations/evil dolls)

I mean I suppose it could be considered a waste of time, but it was fun so, eh I don’t know.
The honeymoon period is over so I'll say it was a fun distraction, but at the end of the day, the game didn't need to be remade, and while I enjoyed some of the changes, most of them I could say I'm indifferent to or disliked.

It's not a bad game, it was an enjoyable experience but I still prefer dead space remake.

Yea like I said don't agree. The part where he gives a synopsis of village then say its rev2 is disingenuous, seems like he thought he could get away with it because in his own words "nobody played rev2" but that description doesn't match rev2 perfectly and if you extrapolate a bit further to "protagonist goes to an isolated village in search of a girl the leader wants to use as a vessel for <bioterrorism reason> and the game progresses through a more industrialized phase toward the end" well that includes code veronica, 4, 5, 7, 8 and rev2. Meanwhile rev1 is also about a past protagonist going out in search of a female character in trouble. Re6 had stealth sequences in jake's and ada's campaign, its not unique to these 2 and is most likely inspired by The Evil Within if anything. And almost everything else is shared across the whole "series" (4-6/rev games). I'm happy he enjoyed rev2 I guess but its a stretch and just seems very surface level to me, like I said in the last post the DNA they share has branched off from 4's core gameplay.

Man also talked shit about RE6's butt scooting and rolling. That alone is enough to make me disregard his Opinion in that video.

I mean nobody even liked RE6

That's not true at all, it may be my favorite of these games (besides 4) honestly.
