i legit disliked re3 remake but loved 7 and villa. hows re4?
It’s a lot like RE8. Also, the entire village section is longer than RE3R. With getting all the treasures and doing all the side quests I fought Mendez at 5 1/2 hours in. There’s a lot of exploration to do in RE4R. It plays much differently from RE2R and RE3R. Overall I like it, with the exception of the horrendous voice acting and some weird design choices on some of the monsters and characters.

Note: I was playing on standard, but if you play on hardcore you could extend your playtime.

Call me a retard, I enjoy 5. It's the most fun I've had with a coop game when I played with my brother, if they just do the re2/re4 treatment to it, I'm fine, if they go with the original drafts of re5? I'm here for it.
If they're doing a remake of that I really hope they change things up instead of going down the Dead Space path and making the exact same game again.

Still having a blast, using the Red9 to popheads then running over to stab the parasite. It's like it's 04 all over again.

At the very least your knife doesn't break every 5 seconds, every 10 seconds isn't an improvement and repairs costing half a handgun is ass. But whatever.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do enemies respawn when you backtrack for treasures/side quests? I haven't noticed any thus far (stopped at chapter 4 last night) but I'd like to confirm before I dive back in today.

As far as I know spawns are determinedly by campaign progress. I don't think they respawn when you leave the area or anything like that.

People are trying to find the most ridiculous excuses to hate on a game that's just really fun to play.
the game is fine.
I personally have a backlog so I'm in no rush to play it. I can wait for a sale, and for the honeymoon period to wear off.

Here's why I "hate on" the game. I have a condition where my memory lasts more than a few days, and as such I can remember seeing this behaviour before. Just last month people were hailing the PSVR2 as the second coming of Christ, but a few weeks later people were complaining about shallow games and blurry visuals.

Not only that, but reactions like yours are giving me confidence in my opinion. I totally believe you're having fun and not at all have a niggling feeling in the back of your mind that won't go away no matter how much you defend the game on the internet.

I’m currently 12 1/2 hours in and about to fight Salazar. It’s a long game fellas. If it wasn’t for RE6, this would be the longest.

Currently, my big complaint is the removal of U-3. I imagine they could’ve figured out some way to implement this boss without the QTE’s, but maybe in that Separate Ways DLC that might happen.

Spoiler territory, but how did they do Verdugo? Because half of that entire event is running to the back of the area, while he strikes at you from the floor and ceiling, while you dodge with QTE. Did they just completely remove that?

Depending on what platform you’re using, you press a button to evade his attacks from the floor and ceiling. There are liquid nitrogen machines around that you can use when Verdugo pops out. Same as original just with minor changes.

Just beat the game. Verdugo is the hardest boss for me, legit terrifying. I liked him a lot. They did him justice.

Yup. Like if you take the mine cart back to the area where you met Salazar, you’ll see a group of enemies along with a zealot, but you’ll never see the same group of enemies twice.

Played the game for the first time at a friends house very briefly, tried it on Hardcore and was getting owned in the village anytime I tried to play it like it was the original game - can’t just shoot the heads or knees and guarantee they’ll give you the melee opportunity for crowd control. Found it way easier to just kite everyone in a building and lob grenades before escaping, which made me feel pretty cheeky. The game was cheeky too, what with the collapsing floor in the steeple. Glad the game is still really fun and frantic even if piloting Leon somehow feels worse without the tank controls.

The little bonus dlc items the deluxe edition gives you are kinda gay though. Didn’t use the “sentinel nine” or whatever.

Stopped at chapter 7 for today. I'm playing on standard and the game is definitely a little challenging for me, the enemy AI is just so aggressive. Would hate to switch to assisted but I will if it starts to get really frustrating.

Ok so I just finished the castle and did a bit of the island until you get into the main compound and so far my only two complaints are the terrible voice actress for Ada (is it the same as the re2 remake? I don't remember her sounding this boring) and the embarrasing cut scene of Leon and Krauser silly knife fight.

I refuse to believe I'm the only one who thinks that shit was awful in how they look like they're trying to swat flies with their knives. This is one cut scene that its a million times better in the original, hell I wouldn't mind if they just did a shot for shot remake of the original fight with the new engine, even if I had to do the QTEs.

Just beat it, took a little over 16 hours on a Hardcore run, some random thoughts.
-The Salazar boss is entirely different from the OG, but I enjoyed it much more than the Original.
-There are two new weapons you can find as treasures, I found the CQB Rifle you can find useless, since it uses Rifle rounds and it's fully auto, maybe it's useful on lower difficulties but for Hardcore you probably won't even have the ammo to ever fill up its unupgraded 20 round magazine, on the other hand the LE 5 SMG you find is great.
-I liked how they played into Leon being infected, they also clearly took notes from the Hallucination build of RE4 towards one section right before removing the Plaga.
-The VA for Saddler was clearly having a blast during the recording session for the final boss fight.
Overall I really enjoyed it, also for anyone wondering, the menu changes to the Village after you beat the game just like the Original and plays a remixed version of the OG intro music.
