I remember RE6 too. For all the wrong reasons. Meanwhile, I have only positive memories regarding RE7.
The complete opposite for me. I have no worthwhile memories of Resident Evil 7. I had to constantly remind myself that I was playing a Resident Evil game until a certain character showed up and I said "Hey look! It's that character!" and then the game ended.

As far as I'm concerned, anything beyond RE6 isn't canon, including the remakes.

8 is fine, 2make is really enjoyable, 3make is alright.
After the ruse cruise of 7, I couldn't be asked with 8. Especially given they added in viral vampires and werewolves, and the game was memed to hell by the giant snu snu.

2make is fine, but it didn't replace RE2 98 like REmake did with RE 96.

3make is jokes.

I liked RE2 remake a lot, but the original RE2 will always be my all-time favorite and I think RE2 1998 is still better than RE2 2019.

I can see why everyone was fawning over it when it came out, since it was a lot better than either RE6 or RE7 and didn't totally fuck it up like the RE3 remake did.

The RE3 remake would've worked better if it had just been kept as the rumored single-player DLC for RE2 remake that was meant to be just a "Spark Notes" retelling of RE3 like the Chronicles games were for the classic games. Then you could do a more proper remake of RE3 later down the line and do the same for Code Veronica if you wanted to keep the remake trend going.

RE4 doesn't need to be remade at all, especially since it's basically just Capcom's equivalent of Skyrim or GTA V where it's available on multiple platforms and always ported to the most current ones.

Why does it feel like we're just having circular discussions at this point ITT?

Because we are. There is nothing new or exciting happening in the RE world. I personally, could give a fuck less about the RE4 remake because that's the game imo that started the franchise down it's "no longer survival horror" path.

Agreed entirely.

I've always liked RE3 99 the most the original trilogy but RE2 is right in there and I'm perfectly with others fine picking it over RE3 and I completely get it. For awhile it was my favorite too.

I'm glad there's the sense enough here to admit RE2 19 isn't perfect. Even at the time of first completing it I felt very unfulfilled after my first run as Claire I absolutely loved and the 2nd run is completely flat and next to no different.

I don't know what I can even say further on RE3R at this point that hasn't been said already. It's completely FUBAR. There's plenty of mods out there to make the game world bigger and explore unexplorable areas but it would take a multi million dollar team to mod that to be even acceptable in terms of a remake.

I agree for the most part, but people seem to not notice the series started moving toward action in the RE2-3 era. Although RE2 still had the air of the horror aspect where as RE3 definitely skirted that for more action. Although, I don't necessarily have a problem the direction they took with that. They were just trying to outdo the previous game by upping the ante.

It still retained the survival horror aspect as you still needed to weigh the risk vs reward with going to point A to B and what supplies you'll need and what you'll get on the way there. But then we're stuck for years with enemies dropping ammo and checkpoints.

RE4 in itself is fine but the biggest dysfunction it gave the series was the obsession with over the shoulder and now this is the mainstay player view and it removes any surprise when you see enemies a mile away. And of course the over the top action with grew and grew with each subsequent game, which strangely culminated in RE3R but not really RE2R.

What are you high? The over the shoulder view is the biggest innovation RE4 brought to the table, not just for survival horror games, but for video games on the whole. Don't tell me you are on of those "tank control elitist" types?

There's nothing elitist about wanting the games to play like Resident Evil.

Define that, then.
Not this.

OTS fags of course get all pissy that someone could possibly want the series to be less westernized.

Do you think that every Mario game that isn't a 2D 8-bit side-scroller doesn't play "like Mario" then?
Apples and oranges, sperg.

You don't want to play RE, you just want to play shooters that vaguely hint at horror.

Like really. You RE4 fags are just the fucking worst. Keep pretending that RE6 is some small segment of the series that was OTT action when it's been high octane dogshit since RE4.

Lmao, going back to negrate posts rather than answering a simple question. Spastics, man.
If I need to define what I mean, you're actually dumber than I gave you credit for.

Tank controls/fixed camera, brainlet.

You OTS fags always go into tard rage when someone even hints of the idea of wanting to play the game like that, and you trannies want to pretend you're playing RE while played GOW.

Like I don't care about your opinion on what game style you like, but OTS is like this third rail with you shortbus children. You immediately chimp out when someone suggests otherwise.
