That's a relief. Between her and the cunty weapon mod creator in the first game, I was a bit concerned she'd be a constant noise in my ear.
She's a constant noise in your ear when you have to refresh her inventory every time you're in the ward because for some autistic reason she has to gatekeep some very good gear.

I keep failing jumps because my character will simply roll off the ledge, and I keep failing The Chimney because my character is a retard and throws herself over the balcony rather than dodging enemies.

I hope this shit doesn't become a regular thing.

Loved the first one and how desolate it felt. Right off the bat Remnant 2 turned me off with its more quippy writing and complete failure at writing halfway believable banter. When r1 said something in one sentence, r2 will take 5.

The gameplay is straight fire tho, they really nailed the 3rd person shooter/rpg mix

Yeah the gameplay and classes are a ton better in 2 but I still like the areas/story of the first game better. Wish we got see more of earth recovering from the root invasion and its a shame we lost the green lushness of Yaeshae. I get way but it's still a shame.

Eh, I'm really struggling to see why this amazed everyone. I'm pushing through worlds that just aren't interesting to explore, and have yet to find any exotic equipment. Just me, my dog and the same shitty rifle I started with.

I dunno. Something feels like it's missing. Maybe it just isn't for me.

Have you not been returning to the Ward and talking to the bitchy woman near the engine block? Or been combing for secrets? Essentially all the non ring or amulet gear is hidden behind those. If you've beaten even one world you 100% have a different weapon to be crafted.

The devs outright admitted some of the secrets in the game were supposed to be datamined.
Yeah Archon in the base game and then Anguish in the DLC but essentially every other secret is not that hard. The blood moon rooms probably being the hardest but even they have a red moon symbol that's not that hard to figure out if can rub two brain cells together and have seen the blood moon event happen in the overworld.

The purple wisps dropping the blood moon crafting component is probably more obscure than the blood moon rooms. I wouldn't have thought to shoot them if I didn't clip one accidentally. Remnant 1 had much more bullshit that we'd probably never know existed if not for someone else doing some kind of legwork.

Which is all pretty moot as I just don't find anything that interesting. The lore, the worlds...nothing has hooked me. Even I'd blundered into the best weapons in the game, it wouldn't change the fact I'm not interested enough to push through it all.

That's fair. I would say at least give Losomn and N'Eruid a try (I think they are the better locations) but if the game isn't for you it just isn't for you.

Yeah, I've been through Yaeshan (the forest place) and N'Eruid (robots and toxic goo). Think I'm just gonna shelve it as we're clearly not connecting right.

I fell in love with the first game. Maybe I'm just over-exposed, lol

Can't entirely blame you; when I first picked the game up myself it really wasn't all that fun, and even now I'm still struggling to really get into it. Frankly, the game doesn't really get good until you've basically gotten a good build... which often requires you to be at endgame, at least. Don't feel too bad if you don't like the game; feel free to move on.

Doesn't help that getting some of the more unique/cool gear can be a bit of a RNG hassle; some of it can get insane, like the grenade launcher in Losom or the Void Heart on Ne'rud. Also doesn't help that the lore bits for this game are practically non-existent; compared to the previous two games, there's just not much to really just sit down and read by comparison. To be honest, only reason why I'm sticking with the game myself is the admittedly vague hope that the DLCs actually give something worth doing.

I got to agree with you; the first Remnant was so much better.

Heard you could do 100% CDR now so I was gonna try this game out again as a melee archon and of course these fucks nerfed it.

Now I'm thinking about going back to Remnant 1 again. Are there any good mods that add anything? A quick look at nexus gives the Remnant From Hell mod which just looks to be "kick in the balls" mode and a ton of character swaps.

Funnily enough I absolutely loved Yaesha and hated N'Erud, but I've always preferred verdant areas to cold robotic ones. N'Erud was just depressing since it was a land of the already-dead as opposed to Yaesha which might yet be saved, and Losomn was you know, on fire and grimdark.

"Hee hee heee! Life is pain!" WHOOSH.

Heard that we were going to be getting another update this month; another "Corruption" event, along with more corrupted variants of guns. Seems like a good opportunity to go ahead and jump back in; still need to grab the Rune Pistol anyways.

The update is here with the increased aberrant chance event. The new corrupted weapons are Cube Gun, Sorrow, Arbelest, Nebula and Savior. I've only gotten the Corrupted Nebula so far but I love it. It becomes a semi auto laser pistol that spawns the nanomachine swarms from the mod of the base gun on weakspot hits and its mod blows up the nanomachines for decent damage and a good Corrode. I haven't unlocked the base gun yet but apparently the Corrupted Savior is the return of the Fusion Rifle from 1 which Savior was a reference to to begin with which is really cool.

Yeah, I've got all of them but the Savior unlocked as well, and they personally feel like a solid step up from the previous corrupted weapons that we got. Dunno if I'll be using them all that much, admittedly, but they certainly are pretty solid this time around.

If I were better at the game - and didn't struggle so much with the Labyrinth Sentinel - then I'd be a lot more willing to run Hardcore Veteran.

Yeah when I was grinding the crystals and reearning the uncorrupted weapons last night I was playing on Veteran and I was like "No way in hell I could do this solo hardcore". I was stressed enough rushing through the game on easy fully geared without dying to get to the end of Root Earth again to get Anguish. Luckily if you have co-op partners you can cheese it. Not everyone has to enter a boss arena so you can always leave someone at the crystal to restart a boss fight. I feel almost necessary for some bosses like the CUBES and the Corruptor since they can instakill or you get killed by the level itself. Probably better for 3 man co-op though.
