Well, it's Joever - buddy and I finally finished the last bits of the game we were after. There were a few items we didn't pick up or events we didn't see (The Feast, Invader/Archon because fuck that noise), but we saw all the main world possibilities and got all of the boss drops. The Red Empress line on Yaesha was actually quite neat, and the "Arrest" version was great since it provides your character some good opportunities to be perceptive instead of being lead around like a goddamned idiot. I also really wish we'd gotten it earlier, since Ford's Scattergun is just about in the Goldilocks zone for my shotgun preferences; a bit longer optimal range and I'd be willing to put it up there with E.Y.E's Depazador as one of the few good video game shotties that's not restricted to tickle range.

He and I will probably end up grabbing the inevitable DLC, but I'm in no hurry, all told. I still can't bring myself to hate the game, since when it all comes together it's fun, but I'm still... I dunno, disappointed, I guess? It's a frustrating mess that could have been great, but there's just so many little things wrong that never quite sticks the landing.

QoL update and Halloween event.

I quickly skimmed the patch notes and it seems like buffs across the board except for Faerin's Sigil and Stone of Malevolence finally getting "fixed". RIP perma dreadwalker and perma corrosive rounds. The big one is loadouts. You get ten slots and I'm assuming it keeps mutators relic fragments.
The event corrupted elites spawn fairly regularly on all difficulties. I tried speedrunning some survivor worlds to see how quickly they would spawn and I didn't notice a difference between that and apoc. The best spot I've found is Cotton's Kiln in Losomn. They have new affixes too which can be pretty nasty. The event elites can drop new mutators. Dunno how many there are. I think I've gotten 7 or 8 so far and the drop is not guaranteed. Dwell is selling corrupted weapons for the existing weapon plus ten corrupted shards. I don't think you can carry more than ten so spend them once you've got em. I've only bought one so far - corrupted Aphelion. Shoots three energy arcs and the mod releases a salvo of exploding spheres that you can detonate with the normal fire for some fat aoe and burning damage. Dunno if it's actually good but it makes a big boom.

I got the Corrupted Rune Pistol. It becomes a heavy machine pistol and kind of reminds me of how the Spitfire felt in 1. Its mod feels really weak though. Its like a worse Hunter's Mark from 1.

The best place imo for the random Abberants is any Yaesha dungeon that can spawn exploders. You can get Abberant Exploders who do still die from their flop attack and don't actually explode any larger so its the easiest kill.

A lot of the corrupted weapons feel barely good enough to use, and most feel worse if they aren't broken. Corrupted Deceit is supposed to be able to go through walls but it's broken.
Right now it's also bugged that you can't have the corrupted and original version, they said they will fix it.
Note as well you can only have 10 corrupted shards at once, you aren't allowed to just farm it all out.

I like to just sit near the Root Nexus, hit it to spawn in some waves, kill the waves, new ones spawn every minute or two but aren't always an elite, but you're right next to the checkpoint if you die.

This little idiot got stuck here.

They said the new kind of elites will stay past the event, but at a much lower spawn rate, so good to get as much as you can done now.

Haven't played this since Baldur's Gate 3 came out, don't remember any of the builds I used to play, but everyone's just abusing the new healing mutator that's bugged and makes summons unstoppable killing machines.

Yeah, haven't played in a while myself; currently grinding the Root Nexus to get the last Corrupted Shard I need - got four of the Corrupted guns, having trouble getting The Feast to spawn so I can grab the Rune Pistol, stockpiling the ten Shards I'll use for it right now anyway. Minor note: I do like that the Corrupted guns have a different flavor text compared to the originals; gives a neat little lore flavor. I also like how some of the Corrupted guns look like their "glitching out" when you reload; looks cool, personally.

The new loadouts are great, too; makes it so much more convenient to swap to different builds. Currently experimenting again with the different guns and such now; for some reason, the game feels... simpler than it did last I played, like the enemy hordes aren't nearly as bad. No idea why, but at the very least it makes experimentation feel more viable now; currently screwing with some themed builds, seeing what I can come up with.

I wonder if they'll be doing anything for Christmas? Also curious what the DLCs might bring...

DLC came out, you have to start it in adventure mode, not campaign, and it's called a "one shot"

Isn't this how every region of the game works? Are the DLCs different? I never played Remnant 1

They also added matchmaking regions and raised the trait cap to 85
Additionally I was able to buy a couple mods from Dwell, looks like they added the "event" mods to his regular inventory if you missed them.
Training dummies can now bleed too, finally.

This sounds like a disclaimer for retards/new players or maybe I'm the retard for not distinguishing the difference between this and what adventure mode is/formerly was.

To me it reads like "the first time you roll this zone it's handcrafted", I have no idea if that's accurate though, and it's too early to tell so I'm just going in with the first roll.

This necklace is currently broken, it does the burst every time you would apply a status effect, even if it's already effected.
With a bleed build it's doing about 20% more DPS than the Abrasive Whetstone even.

It's because of the Swamp of Corsus DLC and Subject whatever. The former was just in adventure mode actually finishing the biome and allowed you to kill the Iskal Queen. The latter required you to reroll the whole campaign but choose it over the base game campaign. A lot of people were confused on their launches as to how you played them and spammed up discussion boards. This just seems like them giving actual, in-game directions now.

Edit: And with Corsus, you weren't even guaranteed to get the Queen since she was a world boss and there were events that required four different things to spawn in the same roll, that was a lot less areas than 2. I think it's just saying the first time through is guaranteed to be the "new" stuff and then becomes random like Morrow Parish/Gilded Courtyard being the roll.

Well I finished the DLC, at least one way of killing the last boss, and it still lets me reroll the DLC specifically.
Also my "cutscene" boss was just the bloatking, so it's not guaranteeing new areas, or items, I found a lot of rings I already had

I guess that makes it more like Corsus, then. New world boss and new events/items but you were still sorting through the base game content along with it. I'll probably give it a whirl later. Good, bad, or just more of the game?

From what I've heard, it appears that the first time you go through the DLC, everything is in a fixed position, with specific dungeons and gear all being locked in. Subsequent runs have everything in randomized locations, with the dungeons and items all being RNG like usual. So, if you want to try and get as much guaranteed, then you're going to need to grab everything available the first time, before restarting. At the very least, the main area is still the same on subsequent runs.

So, how is the DLC? Anything good? Anything bad? Did they add any woke crap, or not? How's the new Archetype?

It's a good continuation of the best area in remnant 2, not sure it's worth 10 dollars though since it's just one layout but I'll be playing more.

Kill the end of DLC boss.
Collect 3 Crimson King Coins for the Red Prince and then pay him.
Go back to the end boss room.
Earn recolored preorder armor (with a better hood)

Very slightly more armor and weight than the Fae Royal armor.
