I can't speak for the others as I've not played with them. They do have the achievement for second archtype though. What kind of amulets + rings are you using? Did you guys all at least have a second Archtype going with your primary? I mean it sounds like you guys pumped up your weapons a bit to hard to try to out race the content.
I'm using a few of the dozen rings I've found so far, and two amulets. No second archtype yet. I'm not trying to rush through the game or anything. There was a teleporting manta ray sub boss I had to leave because it would teleport away when damaged, and the health bar would stay on screen until I left the area.
It just seems like hard swings in terms of play time. I don't know if I got a weird roll, or they did, or what.
The cube boss was frustrating because when I had the idea of crouching in the holes, it didn't work. Then it did work. Then it worked once but I took damage. Then it worked but I clipped inside the cube and was stuck for a few seconds.
EDIT: I'm up to Losoum (the bloodbourne style city of cultists that's on fire), and I have to stop playing. The stuttering is ridiculous, especially since I'm on a 5600x and a 6600 gpu and running the game off a M.2. I'm on a horde boss where a man is hanging over a pyre and you have to stop the enemies burning him and it's become straight up unplayable. quarter second pause every few seconds, sometimes more if there's a lot of enemies. Only advice I've found is to drop the settings (I'm currently on medium 1080p) and limit the frame rate to well below what the GPU can handle. I don't know if it's just this zone, or a consequence of the recent patch.
If it wasn't for my friends wanting to co-op through the campaign while it's new, I'd uninstall this game and either never play it again, or maybe come back to it in a year once they fix it.
EDIT 2: Another thing. It might be just me playing solo, but I'm a challenger in heavy armour, and a lot of stuff staggers my character to the point where I'm starting to think solo was an afterthought.
