Eh, as far as I remember it was mostly just semi-niche online spaces cheering on his death until that (genuinely just intended to appeal to facebook boomers) We Are Charlie Kirk song went viral like a week later and the meme floodgates with every other zoomer deepfaking his face onto Bonnie Blue opened. The floydpocolypse probably wouldve been wild (including under normies) if generative ai had been a thing when it happened.

Tbh while his death is pretty bad its also undeniable that its also a fairly meme-able event even though the memes often dont even capitalise on some of the more over the top elements of it. I mean, didnt the dude get one-shotted by a columbiner-looking tranny chaser who wrote le epic dodge memes on the bullets?? Almost something out of a parody. It being timed right after a question asking about shootings and kirk saying something both racially charged AND easily turned into a meme template for his last words also added fuel to fire. And kirks tiktok profile pic being eric cartman dressed as him forever since hes too dead to change it. His wife immediately using his death as an opportunity to grift while wearing a big smile, glitter pants and pyrotechnics while Candance Owens is crying in the background.
Like everything about the event is just so goddamn wild it almost doesnt feel real which probably also doesnt help people take it seriously even on the centrist/rightwing side to a degree, bc ive even seem them join in on the shitposting even tho kirk got murked for views they agree with. Tbh im not sure the average kirk shitposter even knows what his views were other than vague rightwing shit, ive never even heard a leftwinger outside of witchhunt-thirsty reddit troons mention him before he died.

Same with the healthcare ceo shooting, no one except fringe leftists would be cheering it on (at least for longer than a day) if the shooter wasnt a young hot charismatic and otherwise normal-seeming dude who got caught by flirting with a mcdonalds waitress. Politics are secondary to there being enough material to work and make jokes with in the first place.

Except the intent of the mockery online was always "haha public figure with opposing views was murdered who's next?", never "golly this is entire situation is incredibly surreal and ironic" by the Reddit-Xitter Commipedotroon circlejerk. It was celebration and a desire for more bloodshed. Anything else like the "sketchy" wife was post hoc justification for their self-righteous revelry.

Besides, that's separate from the later wave of AI deepfakes and songs were just another iteration of the nihilistic absurdist style of modern memes with the punchline being the lack of any meaning or substance. Those were undoubtedly started by gravedancers but then spread by apolitical parties like edgy Instagram Zoomers who don't have an fully-formed opinion one way or another (because they're retarded). Irony-poisoning is an entirely different strain of society-damaging retardation that effects le both sides and the memes derived from that weren't the issue, especially because they didn't exist until several months after as you mentioned.

On KF, you'd be hard-pressed to find the same indignant response to Kirk's face being put on Tung Tung Tung Sahur as you would someone spamming a gif repeating the moment he got shot in a reply to milquetoast conservative's tweet. One is clearly someone who doesn't know or care about the actual gravity of that event, another is someone who evidently does and wishes for more. A few years ago, the normie leftist at his most radical would have just wanted to "deplatform" Kirk by banning him from campuses, not outright murder him in cold blood, so it's no shock many were disturbed by this shift in attitudes.

In the case of Brian Thompson, the political spectrum of people who were celebratory about his death was wider than Charlie Kirk's. Even people on /r/Conservative and Ben Shapiro's YouTube comment sections participated in it.

I believe if it turned out to be somebody unsavoury, the focus would simply have been shifted to how Brian died, rather than dying down. We saw this happening with Charlie's assassination. The first assassination attempt on Donald Trump and Corey Comperatore's death a few months before Brian's assassination already had the wider left-wing wishing it was successful, but still joyous it occurred. It is why I'm not particularly caught off-guard by the responses to Charlie's assassination. A precedent was already established a year prior at the earliest. You could argue those sentiments were already mainstream all the way back in the COVID era, where people made fun of Trump supporters who died of COVID, like Bill Montgomery.

But lefty versions keep hitting mainstream, and people just act like it is NBD, which is disturbing and should not be like this.
For one, people who make George Floyd jokes don't wear shirts in video's with "Floydin' Hard or Georgy Workin'" on them.

Or go to Times Square to parade about Floyd's death and whatever the hell the music video is. I had a friend watch the first one with me in voice chat as if it was a normal thing to celebrate the anniversary someone's murder instead of it being a thing for the heavily mentally challenged like me.

Your squeaky clean reputation would get tarnished to the furthest ends of the universe if you'd wear a shirt with George Droyd on it or if you'd imitate Derek Chauvin standing on some nigger's neck. The same people who would call you inhumane, soulless and 'weird' would do all of those things plentiful with Kirk's demise, all while touting they're the side of hospitality, humanity and selflessness. It's a matter of hypocrisy and not "Floyd was a different thing, okay!". I'm not claiming to be righteous whenever I say that "$20 isn't $20", or that "I can't breathe"; I know it's completely fucked up, but would you see anyone donning a fucking cap saying "Chauvin' it up the ass", fuck no.

This thread is getting cucked.

It's not hypocritical to mock the overdose death of a lifelong degenerate hoodrat or a troon and then cry foul when a white man is murdered. What the fuck?

Well yes but we all already knew that redditors and xitter users are radicalised subhuman shutins?? Maybe its bc I got my start here on the tumblr thread but I thought everyone here already knew for like a decade now that turbo-leftists were like this and called for violence this easily??? Did yall miss the 'we should rape and kill jk rowling for saying biological sex is real' chapter and the 'actually bin laden was right' chapter or what.

And the average person/normie has been chased away (or banned lol) from those platforms years ago and isnt going back just to see what the crazies are up to. Maybe the occasional loon posted some kirk gravedancing on their linkedin or whatever, but ive also seen people do that for the 'pretti goode' duo who didn't really do anything more noteworthy than being a bit retarded.
Atp the genuine gravedancing had been practically snowed over by the sheer amounts of people meming his death regardless of if they agree with that death or not within weeks, so idk how its supposed to be some kinda big revelation for the average person who has minimal exposure to the more seriously intended stuff.

If anything, by far the BIGGEST success the crazies have in all of this is having the shooter himself straight up be ignored for the most part, and successfully spreading the lie to normies that 'uhm actuallly it was a fellow rightwinger of a different kind than he was' bs. Like damn they really just got away with that one.
People can see their shitty jokes but if they dont even know the actual shooting was also done by a leftwing crazy instead of it just being a convenient intra-rightwing killing those jokes dont hold NEARLY the same weight to them, yall realise that, right?

And Floyd never wouldve blown up the way he did in the first place if black orgs didnt very actively hijack his death to turn him into a symbol for their community (and people werent already going batshit from covid). They ran an incredibly tight PR-campaign to turn him into saint floyd featuring tragic 'similar' stories (personally I think trying to compare Floyd to that kid holding a wii remote was crazy but whatevs), aesthetic murals, forcing other leftists to join in with #silenceisviolence bogus, etc etc turning him into peak virtue signal material. Most of Kirks PR-campaign has been objectively bad ai slop, his wife acting like 2016 hillary clinton and a few sympathetic boomer facebook posts. A movement wont come into existence if no one bothers to properly create one.

I go into normie online spaces and randomly see ai-generated caricature raceswaps of kirk and similar shit casually being posted in the comments. Half of the kirkiversary stuff that other farmers are complaining about is just non-leftist zoomers seizing the opportunity to be edgelords about something they personally find humorous that the left will give them a rare pass for and the rightwing doesnt particularly care about either.

This is the single biggest thing to understand about Kirk is that prior to him being shot no one except neocons liked him and no one other than neocons and far leftists even really knew who he was. The leftists hated him because he was a neocon and the right wingers (the few who had ever heard of him) hated him because... well... he was a neocon.

I mean he started a massive organization with tens of millions of supporters that held enough sway to influence presidential elections. You didn't have to personally like the guy to join Turning Point, but he couldn't have gotten big enough for a troonchaser furry spastic to murder him if nobody liked Charlie in the first place. Prior to his assasination, most people probably didn't associate him with neoconservatism but rather clips of him debating college students (who went up to debate him entirely of their own volition with weeks or months to prepare responses) or just as a part of the young conservative movements.

Charlie Kirk was in the normie sphere. He was the kind of person online autists (like the ones who use this forum) know nothing about but somehow all their normie friends and family have known for years and either love or hate because they go outside. Lefty redditors obviously would hate him, but the racier online rightwing was neutral to negative for being too conciliatory or because they were Groypers sperging about Israel (good job guys)

And yet most people on the right only ever knew him as that guy with Ben Shapiro's greasy kike hand up his ass.

sorry to interrupt your kirk circlejerk with am on topic pic

Strangely enough, I can actually think of something weirdly close. It's an old Japanese arcade game called Mahjong: The Lady Hunter, where you play as a batman knock-off hunting female jewel thieves. When you catch them, you have to beat them (in Mahjong) and then strip them down to their skivvies and beat them (not in Mahjong) into compromising poses to recover the jewels. There's no sex nor penetration, but you do get to violently overpower unwilling women sexually for the greater good. I'm sure u/Top_Stand2834 would be thrilled to come across this if he was a perverted Japanese man in the 90s.

I don't have a thread tax. Come at me, IRS- you'll have to play mahjong with me if you want to get my reddit screenshots, if you know what I mean
