I suspect everyone here is mad about the wrong thing and that this isn't about tranny bullshit. Rather, it's about feminist bullshit. Referring to women as "females" (instead of women) was considered disrespectful and dehumanizing pre-trannery. I remember having these conversations on feminist boards in the early 2000s.

The world “female” is a descriptor used for sex, as opposed to “woman” which is, in their mind, a descriptor specifically for gender which is subjective.
Trannies need you to call them a woman for validation, they will remove your ability to say “female” because they can’t actually ever be that. They will remove all ambiguity about their designation as women, even to the point of absurdity and especially to the point of arbitrary removing your ability to use words.

It's a bit of a chicken-and-egg type situation but it is all part of the tranny pilpul. If you used women/girl or an otherwise normal term you were inviting the obvious "girls can have penises too shitlord!" commentary. Female was the obvious workaround to exclude trannies and still refer to women. This gets complicated by the fact that pretty much every incel on the planet is not talking about chicks with dicks, so female becomes a default term.
It then becomes a simple matter of making that association to shut down use of the term. Defend it as precise language? Okay, dehumanizing incel! Clarify you're trying to exclude trannies? Okay, transphobe! Dabbing on misogynists was more important than keeping the girldick away. Now you either accept the girldick or you get to be the far more respectful bonus hole.

I feel weird saying woman and even weirder saying female in most contexts, and I don't say "man" or "male" either. I was raised (by a very leftwing single mother) to say "lady" and "guy", which might be a tell for my geographic area too. I call groups of both sexes just "guys" and will call a group of only women "hey guys."
Very occasionally, a college-age woman has spazzed on me that the word "lady" is sexist. I just say ok. There's no winning and no meaningful discussion. If the word was "LESSERSEX" or "FUCKPOCKET" you'd have a point. But if the wrongdoing is in mental thought content- that using a word means you're a baddie because baddies use that word- there's literally no way out.
The irony is in people recommending words like WOMB HAVER as more friendly alternatives.
The other irony is that I'm pretty sure "lady" and "guy" are part of my regional dialect due to repressed minority groups, while the people who spazz out about it are doing it from their globalist liberal university beliefs- awfully colonist there, guys.

This post survived and it's full of terms people get livid about. The difference is trans women (men) can identify with all these terms to some degree, but not female. Even though the terms are considered slurs or offensive, they can still validate a tranny's delusions by a small amount. "Female" is scientifically trans exclusionary and anyone that continues to use it must be punished. Even dumber, it's all totally in vain. Society was told that capitulating to mental illness was the only way to "save trans lives." Well, most of the forward facing world has capitulated, yet their suicide rate is still slightly going up. I'm seeing a lot of posts like this one below about negative experiences with mods when the word "female" is used. The mods really seem to be hiding their true issues with the "women vs. female" thing and why they choose to ban users who say female. They're framing it as though their concern is because female is Andrew Tate inspired "incelspeak" and demeaning to women, who they present themselves as defending in this whole affair. It seems like this framing has been successful too because almost all of the comments are discussing the ban from this specific angle.
The mods keep directing users to another subreddit, /r/menandfemales, to explain their problem with the word. This sub reminds me of one that is similar, /r/pointlesslygendered. Both purport themselves to just be average women advocating for themselves in the gender culture war, in reality it's just troons. If you look at the subreddits their users most overlap with, they're dominated by the troon subs.
We know that Reddit moderators are overwhelming trannies, and even more so for the more popular subs which /r/therewasanattempt falls into with 7m+ users. I suspect that if the mods were using individual accounts rather than this shared mod team one, you'd by able to confirm they're trans viewing their 3 most recent posts. I think this is just them hiding behind women to engage in their war vs. everything normal, in this case with the word "female" which every online troon views as hate speech. Not a dog whistle, but like a criminal offense. Matt Walsh's "What Is A Woman?" documentary and the resulting social commentary was like their very own holocaust.
