I teach at a very small private school, and the student population is what you might expect for a small school. the kids are what I lovingly refer to as, " misfit toys." bright, creative, but just haven't been able to thrive in public education.

For a small school, we have a fairly decent size amount of kids who identify as members of lgbtq+ community. and as you may assume, in the last few years, it's been not out of the norm for students to express themselves by wishing to change their pronouns, and names. we as teachers, and admin do our best to support them. however, we ask that their parents ( whom which we have contracts with) give permission for our staff and faculty to refer to them as their preferred pronouns and names.

in daily life, we do our best to remember each student's preferred pronouns and names (those who have done through the expected process) and sometimes we are successful, and sometimes not. I often refer to a student whom I've known as "he"for many years incorrectly. when I catch myself I immediately apologize and refer to that student as "them." they understand that it takes some getting used to, and they recognize that I'm trying.

however, there is a large amount of students in that community that have really taken to weaponizing their pronouns and names. I often hear them talking about how some teachers are disrespectful, and don't even try, and"why do we even have to get our parents permission?" it's basically become trash talk...and not in the fun basketball court way.

We literally have eight High School teachers on our staff, I know each one of them personally and we are all very supportive. not one of these teachers wants to hold these students back from expressing their gender the way they prefer. these kids just seem to think that because they have decided on Tuesday to be referred to one way and on wednesday, be referred to as another way, we are obligated to get it right every time. it's becoming toxic.

Just wondering if any others experience this in their school, and have any ideas or solutions? I want to be able to support my students, but also help them understand that this is still relatively new and we are doing the best that we can.

EDIT: Sorry, I think I may have left out a key detail. If a student is under 18, and wants to change their gender, we will wait until they've told their parents, so we don't run into problems at conferences or with addressing that student in front of their parents. Until they're ready to do so, they are referred to as the name/gender we have on the contract we've made with the parents.

if a student is 18 (a legal adult) we ask that the student submit their change in writing and at that point the student and their parents are included in the discussion.

We are not interested in outing anyone.

Thank you for the varied responses and opinions!

"Holy fuck, go outside" is my only response to that because wow Replying more than thrice in the same comment thread makes you look like a spaz, especially when you're trying to defend some fruitless point.

At least if he goes outside, he can groom children IRL, which is probably his ultimate goal anyway.

i guess he lives in a country that doesn't take these niggers well, so if he's caught grooming children he might snap a few bones "accidentally"...

Aren't Staceys supposed to be desirable? I don't think anyone want the kind of women that uses female dating strategy.
The problem with advice boards is that they'll inevitably be filled with people who are terrible at the thing. This isn't exclusive to dating / life advice, either. Language-learning subs are notable for the total dearth of people who've studied the language for more than three months - most posts on /r/LearnJapanese are about the fucking alphabet. It's the blind leading the blind.

There would be an outcry, and AHS would be crying about how Christians were trying to stop these stunning and brave individuals from discussing their "lived experiences". There's one rule for the religion of woke and another rule for everyone else.
People with legacy beliefs (liberal democracy, socialism, world religions) are the dhimmi of the Global Wokeocracy.

The current number 1 AND number 3 post on /r/all

What happens to a person to make them a redditor?

Good reminder to use separate browsers one for real life real name google, linkedin, bank, faceberg, netflix stuff etc. and another for forums and shitposting and if your forums and shitposting career leads you to needing logins for linkedin fb etc, use burner accounts in that browser.

Haha, the fucking j-slur worked for fucking Monsanto. Nothing says woke like working for a company that forces GMOs on the third world.
If anything I expect it. Who else would support that kind of online thought-policing aside from libs, corporate lackeys, and glowniggers? Woke = Establishment.

They didn't turn off the comments because of antisemitism, they turned them off because they had better written jokes than the entire film.

Sorry for double posting, don't want to dilute from the previous post on the power janny

This is pretty pathetic all around lol

I work at a cloud company. We had a backbone issue where MPLS just stopped working for some customers at a certain buildings, so after we got it resolved I made some calls to update the users.

One of them had network shares that were still down, and I didn't have access to her computer remotely so I said "I'm gonna have you do something a little technical." Had her open a command prompt and ping the server, and since it replied we just restarted her computer and the shares were back.

Idk why, but she got really excited that she got to do something cool and technical. Started asking me "Wow, that was cool! did you go to school for this? Do you know how to code? Wow, what languages do you know? Wow! You must be really good at coding! That's so cool! You're really interesting."

I got a kick out of it. Great way to end a Friday, haha. 3 years in IT and this is the first time. Just wanted to share.

edit: Jeez guys. Maybe I assumed it was flirting but can we stop with the implications that I'm an incel or something? Whether it was flirting or not it's just nice to have someone interested in your skills every once in a while.

THe thing that really stands out to me is the simple stance that because she wants it really bad, because SHE WANTS IT and she's a woman, she should be given it.

Not have to work for it. Not be elected or appointed due to skill or dedication, but simply because she wants it.

"I should get it because it's always been white males and I want it! I want it real bad! Why isn't that white male giving me what I want? I WANT IT!"

To prevent the exact attack done on the jannie. You see a linkedin or facebook or whatever link on reddit or a forum, redditors and forum users are not part of your real life, so don't open it with your real life account on whatever fb or other service, the separate browser mean you don't have to mess with logging in and out of real vs fake accounts and also means that there will also never be any accidents of being logged in to fb with your real name and clicking a fb or whatever link from a shitposting forum.

I use chrome for my real life/real name stuff and I don't ever look at reddit or forums with it, I also don't want google knowing what reddits I look at or forums and I don't want google knowing I clicked a link on a forum that went to gastheelveshangthejoggers.blogspot.com
