So, there's this thing on Reddit, /r/sleeplesswatchdogs and /r/thewritersblackout which is a bunch of Redditors from the shitty creepypasta subreddits like /r/nosleep ganging together to copystrike creepypasta narrators who narrate their content without permission. Now, I understand that having someone narrate your shit without permission and making money off of it is undeniably sleezy, but something about this situation feels really silly to me.

You're already posting it for free! Like, a lot of people complaining about it aren't having their stories published except for the free medium of Reddit and Reddit reserves the right to use content from their website for profit, by posting it on /r/nosleep you've already basically waved your rights to it! Without the narration, a lot of these works would slip into effective unexistence as they never received any attention from Redditors to begin with. And, quite frankly, most of these scary stories are shit anyways. The posters talking about this never seem like that good of story creators to begin with, so when I see otherwise subpar content demanding what seems like overpayment for their content. Feeding into this is the /r/thewritersblackout group that definitely seems to be literally just focusing on the money when their official policy regarding small channels is that they don't make enough money for them to give a shit.

It might just be me, but if somebody dredged my shit I've written from fimfiction.net or bigblackcockstories.com and narrated it, I'd be OK with it because it would all my works that otherwise would never have received creative attention get out there and receive some. Sorry for the off-the-rails rambling, but I am curious to other people's takes on this, and whether I'm just being unreasonably anti-Reddit on this.
The redditors' creepypastas are shit, don't get me wrong, but the creepypasta narration channels are profiting off of other people's content without permission and have shit taste in writing, which makes them worse than the redditors whose only crime is just being really bad at writing.
There's also even lazier general reddit narration channels who just skim popular threads (usually on askreddit or a popular anecdote sub like entitledparents) with a bot and have the bot put all the most popular posts in text-to-speech automatically for a video, you'll see irrelevant posts like "wow I can't believe that laundry story was true wtf" thrown in the mix because the bot only cares about upvotes and doesn't know the difference between a story and useless comment, and the videos are usually full of glitches rendered in as well, because no human gives them more than a glance-over before pressing upload.
Lots of them have disrespectful clickbait thumbnails too, I remember seeing one about men who had been raped by women (already shitty to make a for-profit video off of it) and the thumbnail was a woman in lingerie with some muscular shirtless dude kneeling next to her, like from a romance novel or some shit.
Redditors may be... well, redditors, but these channels are pure scum too.

Further proof that "homophobia" is society's defense mechanism against pedophiles. I hope he really did get reported to the school board for that.

Though that being said, I don't think I'd want any redditor teaching my kids. They're all oversexed and neurotic, it's not exclusive to the gay ones.

Reddit subs have too many rules. You get banned for completely innocent shit.
I did get banned from commenting here on the Luna Ramirez thread because of double posting before I knew it was bad and would like a second chance but hey I broke a rule.
But Reddit is just,another universe.

The point is to always have a rule to accuse you of breaking so that they can yeet everybody who doesn't conform to the hugbox.

No one really reads or applies 99% of sub rules, even the mods. They're only there so that they can include super vague "if you're mean we'll ban you, no mean people." somewhere in between to get rid of people they don't like. Typical 2005 forum gay shit that they never grew out of.
I'd say t's probably more efficient saying whatever you want until you're banned and making a new account rather than bother trying to conform to something written by an actual basement gremlin.

It's the classic governance strategy. The more laws you have on the books, the easier it is to charge someone with a crime when you need to.

But If I have to make a new account every couple of months then how will people know how much heckin' karma I have!!??

That's always been how it has been, you must be responsible for your actions and risks taken. Even if you get your tubes tied or soldered there will always remain a possibility, a tiny to be sure but still there, that a child could be produced. They're acting like the overturning of Roe v Wade will change the fabric of reality.
I'd like to add that getting sterilized as a woman can be a massive PITA depending on where you live in the states. A family member needed their uterus removed for medical reasons (bleeding all of the time and incredibly heavy periods, leading to iron deficiency) and it took years to get approved for a hysterectomy. The doctors seemed to be pre-occupied with her fertility for her hypothetical husband rather than not bleeding all of the time. Her innards were in bad enough shape that even if she did get pregnant, there was always the chance of it going poorly. So even if she did get pregnant, it was really best to just not remain so. Obviously, I don't want someone to be able to walk in on impulse and snip snip done, but I do think it's important to highlight that it can be difficult to go through with a decision that would medically be best for you.

The Roe V Wade stuff will likely be a staple stay until June 2022. Then, one group on opposite sides of the debate will seethe about it. At least Reddit isn't being pro for withholding sex from your partner this time. I just don't get the rationale behind "we will all protest against sex!" Like... good job Stacy_RealWamen_2475. But other people really don't care and you never went outside anyway so you are not taking worth away from the world with your shitty attempt at a protest. You are the equivalent of cancel culture in that it's not effective because the people canceling something were never fans of product/person anyway.

It never fails to surprise me how Reddit always seems to be so self-important. The majority of the website is bots and the regular users are smooth brained chimps. Someone could argue "yeah but so is Kiwi Farms" but the general consensus here is that we're all retarded and we all know we're a shitposting forum that has no tangible effect on the real world. Reddit, like Twitter, seems to be locked in a state of delusion of grandeur.

Some you Jews never even thumb through the highlights.

Obviously me not reading through the whole thread is a Jewish plot.

What else could it be, Bubbee?

Should have just claimed to be a troon, then it would be no questions asked.

But we created GamerGate and invented Trump!

[THIS IS WHAT PLEBBITORS ACTUALLY BELIEVE.]

And if you get banned sitewide, nothing is stopping you from making another account. You don't need an email or phone number and can use the same IP to just make another account. The only annoying thing is that some subs have minimum account age requirements, so I'd recommend always having an alt ready in advance.

So this is a bit different of a complaint and perhaps doesn't belong here, but something I notice a lot.

Look at this exchange:

spam.png

Reddit is absolutely chock full of this, but nothing meaningful is done about it. This exchange feels off when you read it right? That's because it's not legitimate/organic.

OP asks what mattress they should buy and either bots, or people getting compensation swoop in and get artificially voted to the top. The first comment could be legitimate, but the following two almost certainly aren't, they're just making a sales pitch.

So are the accounts legitimate and incentivized, credential stolen, or crafted for this use? Anything is possible and while this can happen with any product, the mattress industry is a known bad actor.

They didn't turn off the comments because of antisemitism, they turned them off because they had better written jokes than the entire film.
so, how many jokes you'd bet seth rewrote based on the comments?
have these people never heard of condoms? or birth control pills? like, i get that birth control pills are kinda sketchy because they fuck with your hormone levels, probably not healthy in the long term, but i think they're still lower impact than getting a fucking abortion lol
but how are they going to cause reactions by being safe with their options?
they have to hold something hostage in order to cause outragerinno on the peoplerinno!
Hmm, probably not a very nice thing to do to this teacher..

Byuu's hypothetical corpse would like to have a word with you...
to twitter the farms are evil incarnate
to wikipedia the farms are full of murderers :julay:
to reddit the farms are a full blown exposition ops that they can't censor so they can go back to hiring pedos in peace
to 4chan the farms are full of fags that can have fun and shit without a trannyjannie banning them
to the other sites results may vary.

make a protonmail "main".
make other accounts with temp emails.
send login data to protonmail.
leave alts asleep but do a post on a subreddit where you can get free karma or some shit because i've seen posts deleted due to karma.
???
profit.
i forgot the main step which is giving a shit about reddit.

The real shock is if reddit's not astroturfed to hell, have you seen r/politics?

This was one recent incident that's related to the MMORPG released by Amazon

I've attached some of the packages offered for shilling crypto on reddit, I'm sure the same is done for any other commercial/political ventures too.

The janny's pinned post is downright laughable, shifting blame to everyone but their own retarded jannies even though he did admit it was a janny that deleted it for "their own reasons".
1638903570727.png

the janny was BTFO by a user even though he used the "muh rules" card
1638903875424.png

suffice to say, if the janny deleted that comment then shit would go in flames so he had to take that in his face while controlling his reddit jannie desires of tapping that ban button to prevent something bigger which would end up in the subleddit either under quarantine or deleetus which would remove part of his janny power because other users chimed in on the public beating.

i wonder how much assmad that jannie remains. i've decided to stop lurking just to not see r/covid shit on the r/all feed, fucking mutts.
